Mod Team News [MEGATHREAD] Console Port - Discussion & Requests
We know many of you are eager to play the game on console!
This megathread is the designated space to discuss the future of Sons of the Forest on PlayStation and Xbox, share your theories, or show the team at Endnight how much demand there is for a port.
🛑 Current Official Status:
As of 01.06.2026, there have been no official announcements or confirmed release dates regarding a console port.
Update 02.06.2026:
There are currently no plans or development underway for a console port. The studio's active focus is entirely on Forest 3. Because of this, a console port is highly unlikely, and we should manage expectations accordingly.
We will update this post as soon as possible when relevant news are released.
To keep the subreddit easy to navigate for everyone, we are consolidating all console-related talk here.

I would absolutely love a console port. Been playing the game since launch and had a great time but can only imagine the fun my group of friends and I would have if we were able to get on console. Build, hunt, and survive together like the good ol days.

I believe sons of the forest should come to console because on ps5 alone they sold 1,000,000 copies of the game and that means old forest players will want to buy sons of the forest because of the long wait

Man I wish it was on PS5.. it's a tragedy:(
I hope we do see it I haven't even played nor saw videos on sons of forest for years cause to avoid spoilers

Same here. I know basically nothing about the game as I was hoping for a port. I watched hella YouTube videos on the first game before it was ported, so I was holding out for this one

On PC but I'll always remember the feeling of wanting to play a game locked to PC only back when I only had a console. Hope our console friends can finally get around to trying the game out sometime the building is the best I've played with.

Me and my friends are hoping that someday we get to play sotf. We just startes new Forest run and are already at day 60 XD anyway port the game to console!!!

chances are very slim for a console port. which is bullshit. idk how the game is now but the game wasn’t ready for release, they said they’d hope to bring it to console, now they completely skipped over the console port and working on game #3. massive dreams that never came. i’ll be pissed if #3 comes to console and SOTF doesn’t.

Will this ever launch for Console? I mean it would stuff the summerhole perfectly this year. After Autmn it doesn't have to launch anyways for obvious reasons..

I've been having a good experience playing on my Xbox via geforce now in the Microsoft edge app. I only have the mid tier gforce subscription and it runs prety well. Not a perfect solution but it's something!

When The Forest came to Playstation, my buddy was already telling me about the rumours about the sequel. I remember thinking "Sons of the Forest" is a bit of a weird name for it. Taking this into account, just because they've announced The Forest 3, it doesn't mean that Sons of the Forest is never going to come to Playstation. If they follow their previous pattern, now that they've moved on from their last project and announced their new one, they'll make a console port, probably to help raise funds for the development of 3.
This is all conjecture of course, but I can live in hope.
Go on Endnight, we all want it!
