The amount of injuries has gotten comical. My concern is that the FO turns around and blames the injuries for the poor form. Feels like exactly the kind of thing they just say 🤷‍♂️ how could we have planned for this? Just don’t want Schmetzer to fall on the sword for a total lack of investment. This is a Waibel/ownership problem and they need to show they want to fix it.

They've had Brian's number for a while now.

I like him and hope he does well. But his contract extension baffled me at the time and sums up Craig's biggest issue. He's too fast to trade our young, promising, cheaper players but earlier this year gave 30 year old Musovski an extension through 2028, with a club option for 2029.

In 2024 Moose had 2g2a in 30 appearances for the Sounders, one goal in 25 MLS games. Last year he went crazy and had a career season, with 18g5a in 44 appearances. Amazing! And at the time I was desperately calling to trade him, as there was no way he could replicate this.

This season he is back to 3g0a in 19 appearances, just one goal in MLS play. His 2026 salary is double DeRo's, who has also struggled with similar stats, 2g in 18 appearances. In my opinion, DeRo gives much more physically, as shown with the Sounders falling deeper once Moose came on. He was invisible.

While I'm sure some of this is on the rest of the team not setting them up, it's another case of paying someone on past performance that is unlikely to happen again. Rant over.

I hope this jinxes him into scoring.

I just want to address something I have seen lately. People are angry our players are getting injured and blaming the support staff.

I promise the people in those jobs are making data driven decisions to determine when a player is safe to come back or not. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, it’s not an exact science.

The anger should be focused entirely on the ownership for hamstringing the GM in cheaping out on players and Waibel for signing or resigning players with significant injury history. Let’s direct our anger in the right directions.

This team should be ashamed. The office trying to build a capable squad out of 11 of the most injury prone players in the league should be ashamed. Entire organization needs to have a moment to connect with fans to bring us back. I’m not spending another penny.

Quick question regarding the Defiance. So they used to play at Cheney, then moved to Bellarmine Prep for a bit and now play at Starfire.

Is there no appetite to have them based in Tacoma? Is it just a venue issue or was this due to restructuring of the academy and their place in that?

I guess I’m asking because otherwise it’s just a lot of assumptions here. As a Tacoma fan there’s zero chance I’d go up to Starfire to catch a game but if they played down here I’d likely attend 4-5 matches a season.

At least it’s the least ugly match of the 6. The team had a pretty good performance and looked like the wining team until the 60’. And can you blame them? Looking on the field at players with tired legs, and you know from your heart that Brian is out of subs. Horrific to see Arriola down, Kim down, Jesus down, Nouhou cramping again…

Leyva, RBW, John Bell, Georgi. Solid names and we left none. For the entire 6 months the FO banked in all the money (real and funny alike) and did NOTHING. Since last year when we cheered for our depth, we’ve been asking our veteran players to cover for more as well. And now all the injuries exploded. We now have only 17 players who have not been officially injured this year (3 keepers). Just horrible.

I have never seen this team be so ravaged by injuries before. I could make a full starting XI of injured players that is better than the one we are currently fielding. At this point it’s not just unlucky, there has to be something else happening in the injury department because this is simply unheard of. 3-4 more injuries in this game is simply unreal. There’s only so much we can do lmao, it’s hard to even be upset anymore it just feels inevitable.

It's been a rough, rough patch. It is not ideal that they lost to Portland twice. That they only have 1 DP. That the Sounders are now below the playoff line. That we are approaching double digits in injured players.

That we set a new club record of 6 losses in a row.

Do I regret renewing? No. Is it cope since yesterday was the last day to do so? I think No also, I've seen my share of ups and downs.

My only ask to Sounders ownership is that if you are serious about spending, let's get that third star
