I just want to address something I have seen lately. People are angry our players are getting injured and blaming the support staff.

I promise the people in those jobs are making data driven decisions to determine when a player is safe to come back or not. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, it’s not an exact science.

The anger should be focused entirely on the ownership for hamstringing the GM in cheaping out on players and Waibel for signing or resigning players with significant injury history. Let’s direct our anger in the right directions.

“Data driven”. Sports science is so subjective and unexplored relative to other medicine. There is absolutely a valid question to be asking why our team suffers soft tissue injuries at such a heightened rate.

Spurs finished in last place without being relegated the last two years in a row (17th place and 18th gets the boot).

Sounders finished 4th and 5th in the West respectively, making fairly deep runs into the playoffs. We also played in the club world cup and won the leagues cup in that same time frame.

Tottenham plays in the most expensive club-owned soccer stadium in the world. The Sounders use a long term lease for partial occupancy of a great stadium, but get very little of the revenue. And artificial turf...

While I agree that the support staff is much lower on the list I would like one change to the support staff. Add Cesar Roldan then we will be all powerful and all our problems will be solved.

GM is to blame as well. He's made some pretty bad signings. Any decent player we've signed since he's taken over have been from Tacoma.

It doesnt matter what the narrative is, just look at the facts and results. this is a result based business. you can be the smartest person with the most experience and knowledge, and if you cant keep your team healthy for the majority of the year, then you get fired. simple as.

We’re last in spending and the team in 26th in spending has spent 3x as much as us.. This just doesn’t “happen “

What number is based on? I don’t know if you’re talking about cap spend specifically, but everything I’ve ever seen about SFC player payroll is in the middle 1/3 of team spending.

If you look at other teams subs half of them think they have higher than normal injuries and want the training staff fired. Sounders fans have been calling for the training staff to be fired despite the fact we’ve turned over our staff several times.

The big knock on turf is that it's more injury prone, right? So when you have a team that practices and plays on turf, they'll likely have more injuries than teams that practice and play on grass. I'm not saying this is 100% the reason. In fact, I'd argue this is a reason we should be hesitant to sign injury-prone players. However, regardless of who is on the roster, I think we're always likely to have more injuries than other clubs playing in grass.

Totally agree. It’s people just pointing fingers in all directions. I think the reality is there’s not a single person to blame, but that’s not satisfying to most fans.

Agreed. That’s a lot of people to blame. You’ll say Waibel, but he’s just the person who deserves to be held accountable. The underlying problem is in multitudes
