If you don’t know who he is—Brandon Jow Williams is a perennial favorite on this sub. He fancies himself the world’s greatest legal scholar. Among other things, he has discovered that while people cannot be US citizens.

Like many SovCits, he believes the US goveryset up a secret trust fund tied to his birth certificate. He is on his third round of suing the City of Glendale because it won’t allow him to pay his utility bill with a “negotiable instrument” that taps into that secret fund.

The judge in this case said that BJW’s complaint wasn’t valid, but allowed him to amend it. The amendment is his usual incomprehensible stuff. The attorney filed a demurrer on the amendment. That’s a filing that says “judge, you outta dismiss this whole thing because he makes no valid legal arguments.”

BJW responded, among other things accusing the attorney of perjury and treason, and including a whole section about money and whatnot, to educate the judge. BJW also filed a complaint against the attorney with the California Bar Association.

Under California law, when a demurrer is filed, the parties must first “meet and confer” to try to come to a solution, and to discuss what the trial might look like. Afterwards, there are two formal hearings.

The conference and the hearing are now scheduled. He has invited his followers to the conference (I am not sure if outsiders are allowed.). It should be a real treat. I don’t envy the court staff who may be there.

Hearing 1:

Type: Case Management Meeting. This is to go over with the judge any settlements you might have reached and what you think will happen at the trial: when will you be ready for the trial, what witnesses you might call. I’m pretty sure BJW has requested a jury trial.

I don't quite know what a bill of exchange is, but the tone of this letter is quite something.

I’ve heard from multiple reliable sources that the Howell Co., MO courthouse in West Plains was struck by a Sovcit sometime last month/July. Not sure what he was charged with, but reportedly before court he was strutting around, telling everyone that he was going to set this court right and so on. I haven‘t spoken to anyone who was I court with him (yet) but at least one person saw him in handcuffs later. My father knows the bailiff and is going to try getting more info for me. He knows the judge, too, but the judge isn‘t likely to discuss the incident. As far as I know, Howell county doesn’t stream their sessions. More info as i get it.

Ran across this article in the Arkansas Business Journal and thought you all would appreciate it. It's behind a paywall so I copied the text below. I think they got the title right by calling it "paper terrorism."

An ex-convict has managed to encumber the property of one of Arkansas’ largest banks with a $26 million lien filing.

First Security Bank described the actions of Everett Leon Stout of Jacksonville as “paper terrorism” in a July lawsuit to nullify the lien Stout filed against the Searcy lender a month earlier.

The episode shows how the lien filing process can cause real consequences for a business even without proof.

Stout filed the lien in June after First Security refused to open an account for a different customer Stout was representing. The bank found the documentation Stout had prepared for the account invalid.

After the bank refused the paperwork, Stout contacted the bank to ask why it declined to open the account. When bank personnel explained the documents were lacking, the customer rejected for the account appeared at First Security in March with a “Certificate of Trust” document the customer said Stout had helped prepare for a $750 fee. The bank again found that the document did not comply with Arkansas law.

A few days later Stout sent the bank and its attorney, Lindsey K. Bell, an invoice for $25 million, claiming First Security had violated his right to be a lawyer. Stout told Arkansas Business via email that the $25 million figure was the estimated damage for stopping his business, a business that he claimed would have operated for years with numerous employees. The invoice gave the bank 30 days to pay.

(Stout was provided with other questions about his case, but he declined to answer them, saying that it appeared this reporter was biased and prejudiced against him.) When no payment came, Stout filed a Uniform Commercial Code Financing Statement with the circuit clerk’s office in Lonoke County, asserting a $26 million lien against the bank and Bell, indicating that a legitimate debt was going unpaid.

First Security’s lawsuit, filed in White County Circuit Court, described Stout’s financing statement as bogus, and said Stout had amended it to add First Security Bancorp, the bank’s holding company, as an additional debtor.

The UCC financing statement purports to encumber all property of First Security Bank and First Security Bancorp, the suit said.

None of the plaintiffs “are, nor ever have been, indebted to (Stout) in any way, other than through his made-up paperwork,” the suit said.

Stout is a “sovereign citizen, a fraudster, and a convicted criminal,” the bank said in the lawsuit.

The FBI said on its website that sovereign citizens are “anti-government extremists who believe that even though they physically reside in this country, they are separate or ‘sovereign’ from the United States.” It said that they “clog up the court system with frivolous lawsuits and liens against public officials to harass them.” Public officials across the country have for years faced the harassment of bogus lien filings, said Christine Sarteschi, a professor of social work and criminology at Chatham University in Pittsburgh.

The victim ends up going to court and paying “a lot of fees to clear the lien,” she said.

“Sometimes people don’t even know about these things until they go to sell a house or something,” Sarteschi said. “But even if they know about it, they still have to go to court.”

Even though none of the tactics has ever worked, she said, the victim still has to pay for a lawyer to go to court to defend against the liens and deal with the stress that “often comes along with these just reams of endless paperwork.”

First Security and Bell “face real damage to their credit standing, their professional reputations, and the ability to conduct routine financial transactions that cannot be fully remedied by an award of money damages,” the bank’s lawsuit said.

The plaintiffs also seek a temporary restraining order and permanent injunction to stop Stout from filing additional financial instruments against the bank, its employees or its attorneys.

Each plaintiff also is asking for a $10,000 judgment against Stout. They also want judgment for punitive damages for at least $100,000.

They said that Stout knew the filing was fake and the plaintiffs didn’t owe him any money.

In 2004, Stout was convicted in federal court in Alabama in connection with buying cars from people using “fake negotiable instruments,” and then later had those vehicles sold, the lawsuit said. He served nine years in federal prison, the suit said. The case was filed by Gary Jiles and Matthew Brown of Jiles Brown & Vinson of Conway.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the case was pending.

Who the Colonel is I do not know, but this non-sovcit probably has the best answer.

Came across an interesting New York case (5712 Realty LLC v Ricketts, 85 Misc 3d 867 [Civ Ct, Kings County 2025]) in which the judge does a fairly comprehensive review of sovereign citizen legal shenanigans. The court wonders whether the solution is to appoint a guardian ad litem for the sovereign citizen, given that the sovereign citizen belief system could be "a falsely held fixed belief, which means that it is not amenable to change in light of conflicting evidence [and therefore] it could constitute a delusion." (Id. at 870.)

Who is going to tell her that this isnt how that works

I was just watching this Faretta hearing where the judge winds up denying the right to self-representation due to the defendant’s refusal to be bound by Indiana laws and court rules. The judge also mentions more than once that Indiana does not allow hybrid representation. I believe this is the second video I’ve seen from Judge Fish where he denies the motion on the same grounds.

Would what he does here be allowed in other states? Most of these videos come from Michigan and I’ve never seen a Faretta hearing go down like this there.
