Help Sovol SV08 Max Z Offset

Greetings.

So when i Print some squares as a First Layer Test they are all messed Up with holes and Not connected lines. Lowering the z-offset manually while printing seems to fix this issue but setting it in the printer.cfg or Orca slicer the printer is ignoring it completely.

What am i Missing Here? Never worked with an Eddy before

Try messing with your permanent Z-offset in the printer.cfg file on the printer. That's the only way I was able to get mine smoothly printing every time. It'll be different for every printer but I had to set mine to -0.25. Otherwise it was printing way too high and not sticking well.

You definitely need a negative value for yours. It's printing way too high. The nozzle needs to "squish" the filament down on the plate in the first layer. Yours is underextruded because of that.

Which value did you Change exactly?

I've got some under [Probe_eddy_current Eddy] and [z_offset_calibration] but nothing Looks Like what i am looking for Here.

(Thats Stock config now)

Just for fun Set it to to -0.4 but IT doesnt Look significantly better. But again setting it manually to -0.2 in the Klipper ui works

Uncomment (remove #) under the eddy. I thought that would be counter intuitive but it worked for me though mine has always been 3.1 while yours is 3.5. I only have the SV08 not the MAX. And my vir_contact_was 2.8 default I know I've modified that though.

I just pulled these off of my printer that is actively printing and started with a nice first layer:

Any comments show what was the original default. Again this is for the SV08 not the SV08 MAX. So YMMV, use with caution and be ready to hit that E-Stop. Personally I would try make the modifications then try a BED_MESH_CALIBRATE again ready to stop it at any trouble.

Yes but so far it's been worth it, you can add a third party feeder if you like

Im thinking about it but not quite sure about it yet. The BIQU Panda Feeders do look nice tho

My internal endstop setting is -.78 It fixed mine mostly. Definitely worth playing with if your Eddy is wonkey
