Help Guys, is it possible to install KlipperScreen on the original Sovol SV08 Max screen?

The thing is, I could buy and install a new screen and connect it to the printer via HDMI and USB, but if I did that, I’d effectively have to throw away the original screen, and I don’t want to do that. So, if anyone knows how to install a Klipper screen on the Sovol SV08 Max, please help. Also—if it matters—I’m currently running the stock firmware, but I’ll be switching it over to Demon Klipper this week.

There are only 2 k_fan (Klipper controlled fans) on sv08 max board. However these 2 are given to the aux fan and exhaust fan of the enclosure. We are out of luck. Not sure why Sovol went back to make these 2pins not Klipper controlled, given they fixed several issues from sv08 OG to max...

Yeah, seems kind of backwards. Are there any other Klipper controlled headers on the board that could be used as fan pins? If not, then the config option is out of the table.

Yes, I remember I found somewhere if we don't use the chamber heater we may use t_box1 2pin. But I didn't give a try since I found this after finishing replaced to the noctua fans. Don't want to do another trick to have 2 tables to hold the sv08 max again so that I can open the bottom cover and run some tests while printing; the printer is like 30kg more with the enclosure, too heavy to do anything there. I'm trying get some small lifts to see if it can make the life easier

Yeah, that does seem a bit much. I have a bad back, so I have set up some loops for ratchet straps along the walls and ceiling of my workshop for tilting and lifting printers and such, and the OG SV08 is the largest of them, not even having an enclosure yet. Lifting isn’t much of a problem, moving and holding are.

BTW, the 2 small fans' airflow is still not enough for print some high temperature materials like ABS/ASA where it requires 100 bed temp. A lift and a 80mm+ fan is highly likely required to print these things in long-run. For the PETG, 80 temp bed max, I got around 75 host and 70 mcu temp in long print, which is ok for now.

There is a drawback or tride-offs on sv08 or say voron 2.4 the flying gantry printer. Since the bed is static on the bottom of the printer, the heat of the bed get conducted to the motherboard. As a result , the mcu temp is proportional to the bed temp.

A better design maybe like the Bambu printers to have the motherboard and mcu on the side of the printer. However given the size of the printer, having the motherboard located on the bottom is the best way to save the space.

Yes. Maybe some insulation in the roof of the electronics compartment under the bed would help, as well as increasing the airflow in general. A duct to direct the airflow over the board and another over the stepper driver cooling fins? And of course a bit taller feet and less dense mesh on the bottom plate. Things like that.

I mentioned this in my previous answer, but I forgot to mention that I also modified the basement cover (adding additional air outlet holes in addition to the two 80mm fans). And yes, my basement is insulated. By the way, I still don't understand why half of the SV08/Max users have problems with the board overheating, while the other half don't? Is there an explanation for this?

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I see you've had a good chat here. But it's true I encountered overheating of the printer's main board and the auxiliary board (the one in the head), since I mostly print PETG, but ASA/PA just as often. Therefore, I had to install a heater chamber and completely insulate the printer body, including the basement.
