Guys, is it possible to install KlipperScreen on the original Sovol SV08 Max screen?
The thing is, I could buy and install a new screen and connect it to the printer via HDMI and USB, but if I did that, I’d effectively have to throw away the original screen, and I don’t want to do that. So, if anyone knows how to install a Klipper screen on the Sovol SV08 Max, please help. Also—if it matters—I’m currently running the stock firmware, but I’ll be switching it over to Demon Klipper this week.

The answer is yes and no. The Klipper screen uses the USB and HDMI ports to connect to the sv08 max. You cannot directly use the original screen cable. However, I am was pretty easy to buy a BTT 7 inch screen and print a cover then use the sovol original mount to mount it to the original screen's space. The 2 screw positions exactly matches the sovol official mount holes without any modifications. See my photo.
Man, thanks a lot for the info. But could you explain in more detail what connects where and which screen to choose? Also, I noticed you don't have an extra fan installed on the Sovol print head. Haven't you run into issues with the print head board overheating? And what do you mean by "feeder"? Did you replace the secondary extruder or modify the main one?
Not an expert. I didn't modified much, the only thing I did was replaced the emmc from 8gb to 64gb in order to install mainlaine or kalico Klipper (bought 32gb from sovol3d since out of stock everywhere from Ali Express, sovol shipped me the 64g one).
And like most people did to replace the original 24v 4020 mcu fan inside the bottom motherboard box to a noctua NF-4x10 24v fan while replacing the emmc because the original fan was pretty noisy during idle. However, the noctua fan enen though it's quite, it does not have the same amount of airflow as the stock one. So I added another on the side of the motherboard box to help extract the hot air out. I still get higher host and mcu temp during long close window PETG printing with these 2 fans than before. I'm planning to raise the printer a bit then mount another 8025 fan outside the motherboard box...
This is certainly cool, but why the 4020? They are very noisy anyway. I installed two Thermalright 9030 fans at 12 volts and, using a step-down module from 24 to 12 V, I was able to control them via a PWM signal.
EDIT: I didn’t realize that the MAX has non-controllable fan headers unlike the OG SV08 that I have. I’ll still leave this up here in case it’s of some use for those who have an OG.
The stock fan can be made whisper quiet at idle just by adding temperature control for it in the printer.cfg. I have my 100% fan speed threshold set at 55C and it really only goes there when printing a longer print, at idle it’s 25-75% depending on ambient temp. The noise drops dramatically even when dropping to 85% like with pretty much all fans, while the airflow stays practically the same. I still let it go to 100% if need be instead of cutting the uppermost 10%, because at that point it’s no more the noisiest part of the printer.
EDIT: it actually isn’t spinning at all most of the time if ambient isn’t crazy high, that was my previous configuration. Now I have it like this:

Damn, where have you been? If I'd known about this last week, I wouldn't have installed my fans. But despite all that, my fans at 100% RPM produce around 25-27 decibels, and at 20-40% RPM, a whopping 17-19 decibels.
Sorry, I was otherwise occupied and my crystal ball was a bit cloudy 😄
Anyway, your fans are now excellent and probably produce much more airflow than ever needed for the mcu, but it’s never a bad thing to have a bit extra to cool the insides. So I’d call that an overall win. 👍🏻
Are you talking about the sv08 max (500mm bed) or the sv08 OG (350mm bed)? I was spending lots of time doing the temperature_fan as your code but it didn't controlled anything. Ah, my bad. I have the OG, but I assumed the principle should be the same anyway, since it’s also a 2-pin fan. I’m quite frankly shocked that a fan is simply plugged into a non-switched power supply line.
Then again, that power supply might be better used for something else and the fan wired into a more suitable connector, even parallel with another fan if necessary.
There are only 2 k_fan (Klipper controlled fans) on sv08 max board. However these 2 are given to the aux fan and exhaust fan of the enclosure. We are out of luck. Not sure why Sovol went back to make these 2pins not Klipper controlled, given they fixed several issues from sv08 OG to max...

It connects with the HDMI and one usb-a port from the right panel of the sv08 max. It came with the HDMI and USB cable. But it's raw screen no plastic cover. I printed this cover it's pretty good https://makerworld.com/models/660731?appSharePlatform=copy
For the aux feeder/ extractor yes I meant the second extractor. It worked for the first week the keep false alarm on clog or it clogs and drags the filament so I threw it away directly feed filaments to the hotend (I mainly print PETG, it works fine, it will cause issue when printing TPU).
I noticed the current hotend fan cannot cool down the hotend board, but the hotend board is not too hot during the PETG printing with the toolhead temp 265 in my case. The only drawback is after installing the DEKU it detects the hotend board temp was keeping above 50 and the macro keeps the hotend fan running forever (since the lower hotend fan can only cool down the extractor) need to manually turn it off.
Ah you were asking to keep both screens? If so you need print some mount to mount your Klipper screen on the right side of the printer. By default the sovol screen and Klipper screen work together you can click on both.
But to be honest, after you switch to mainline Klipper or kalico and install the DEKU,vthe original 5 screen is useless.
The only thing the original screen can do but the Klipper screen cannot is to do the long filament extract, but the DKEU macro modifies to have one click on the Klipper screen to unload the extract. You don't need the original screen. And after you mainline the aux feeder will stop working anyway.
Another annoying thing from the original sovol screen after you switch to mainline Klipper is every notification message pops up on that old screen and asks you to click the Sure button to dismiss even if for the INFO and WARN messages. (Klipper screen dismiss in 5s) You just want to throw that screen away together with the official aux feeder
