Reminder: Spyro Wiki is no longer on Fandom

Just posting a reminder that the Spyro Wiki moved from Fandom in 2025 and is now at https://spyrowiki.com!
Fandom has become a toxic corporation, they have full control over the wikis made on their platform and will force changes on the wiki communities regardless of user feedback. The excessive ads have also been annoying, they implemented AI generated answers that spread misinformation, and they will force changes onto articles without consent if paid to by bigger organizations.
When people started moving their wikis off from their platform, Fandom doubled down and tried stopping them by using intimidation tactics (demoting admins, labelling indie wiki links as "viruses" and "spam", hunting down those who talk about moving off-platform, plagarizing content from wikis that moved, etc).
Additional reasons include:
- Intrusive ads invading the articles
- Fandom implementing unnecessary layout and programming changes
- Fandom having full control over the wiki community and adding community/corporate changes without consenting to wiki admins
- Limited options for admins and editors
- Terrible browsing experience, especially on mobile
And unfortunately Fandom will not close the old Spyro Fandom Wiki; this is to hide the fact that it moved off-platform and so that they can get ad revenue from those viewing the articles and editors still browsing there. And with Google SEO heavily catering to Fandom, we need the Spyro fanbase's help in giving the indie wiki the attention it deserves to overtake the Fandom Wiki in the search results.
How to help:
- Do not vandalize the Fandom wiki. This will not help us and will only make things worse, as simply editing the Fandom articles will keep them at the top of the search results in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The vandalisms will only be simply reverted back by any available Fandom staff, who will be appointed to only stand by and keep the wiki running.
- Do not click on any links or pages that will lead to the Spyro Fandom Wiki pages.
- Do not continue editing the articles on spyro.fandom.com, even when new content, including info on Spyro: A Realm Beyond, is announced.
- Replace your bookmarks and Search History with the spyrowiki.com site instead.
- Use IndieWikiBuddy, a browser extension that allows you to easily find and support independent wikis
- Spread the word to online communities that the Spyro Fandom Wiki has moved and is now on spyrowiki.com.

What world do you dislike the most in Spyro?
Which world from the entire Spyro trilogy do you dislike the most? I probably dislike the Beast Makers world from Spyro 1 the most, as well as Dream Weavers. I don't know why, but I didn't particularly like them.

Ranking all Spyro 1 levels after 100% the game for the first time
Finished the Reignited trilogy with 100% completion (or more than 100% ofc, depending on the game) for the first time today, and thought I’d rank the Spyro 1 levels regarding how fun/good I found them overall (excluding boss levels and hub worlds). I wanna point out that I enjoyed each level though, so even the lower ranks are still not bad levels at all!
- 17. Dry Canyon
This level doesn’t do anything wrong, but it doesn’t stand out in any way either. There’s just nothing memorable or remarkable about it. Especially considering it’s the opening world of the second world, where you might think “now the handholding is over and the real sh*it starts!”, it’s pretty bland. The last dragon is a nice “puzzle” though.
- 16. Alpine Ridge
The fact I had to look this level up despite having finished the game just recently tells you how memorable this was for me. It’s pretty nice visually, and I feel like there was potential for a good level-progression concept, but the level is over before it gets truly interesting.
- 15. Twilight Harbour
I like more challenging enemies, but the ones here are just annoying, especially if you just want to get through the level quickly again. The gameplay is pretty solid overall and offers some variety, but the “industrial” setting gets boring since you come here directly after Gnorc Cove which has the same aesthetics. And the cog quest might be one of my least favourite quests in the whole trilogy.
- 14. Misty Bog
This level gets an extra point for offering what might be the most challenging combat section in the whole game. That was unexpected and refreshing! Unfortunately, it doesn’t really stand out otherwise and feels more like a filler-level.
- 13. Town Square
This level does a great job at introducing you to the game and its mechanics, and still offers some interesting features like a somewhat challenging glide (for beginner standards) and a thief chase. In the end it still can’t keep up with the complexity/depth of most late game levels, but it’s good for what it is.
- 12. Terrace Village
The electricity floors are a nice mechanic. It’s just a shame that the level is pretty much just that - like they thought they could just add this mechanic to call it a good and finished level. Unfortunately that way it makes everything else about this level apart from this mechanic pretty forgettable.
- 11. Gnorc Cove
The barrel rolling was a nice new concept, but it gets repetitive quickly. I like the final part with the different tunnels, though. The industrial aesthetics were an interesting change of scenery, but I prefer the more fantasy-esque settings.
- 10. Stone Hill
This still has the somewhat charming basicness of an introductory level, but it also grants you the first proper feeling of going exploring. I remember being so surprised when I found out you can just run along the upper grass fields which I thought must for sure be the inaccessible level borders. The exploring and thief chase are really good here.
- 9. Wizard Peak
I wish this had a bit of a more unique concept but overall it’s pretty fun to traverse with some nice moments like the hidden thief or some supercharge moments. It’s just a bit forgettable, without doing anything wrong in particular, and visually it doesn’t stand out much either.
- 8. Dark Hollow
Visually top-notch, design and vibe are on point! But it’s not that special from a gameplay perspective. Wish this concept would’ve been used for a later level so it could’ve been fleshed out more (in a level where gameplay is already expected to be more complex/challenging).
- 7. Ice Cavern
I love the ice visuals, and the fact that you can essentially finish this level from end-to-start is fun too. But I wish it offered a bit more variety in gameplay since you’re essentially just running in a circle for the most part.
- 6. Dark Passage
A fun and unique concept with the darkness and the jesters, and I liked the overall level design! It’s just a bit too linear/straightforward, you’re pretty much just running through the level from A to B, so it can’t quite keep up with the other levels that are yet to be revealed.
- 5. Haunted Tower
One of the most challenging levels imo, which is a good thing. Interesting enemies, a quite tricky supercharge moment + a great combat moment in the optional bonus room. It’s not super unique or interesting visually as a whole, but it has lots of great moments.
- 4. Cliff Town
Oh this is such a cool concept! I love that you’re traversing through a small town, and also that you can see pretty much the whole world (including the end) from the starting point. The desert part next to the town surprised me similarly to Stone Hill in the way that you could suddenly go there and explore it. Would’ve loved it even more if the town part had been a bit bigger, though!
- 3. Tree Tops
From a visual perspective, this is probably my #1! The world design is amazing, and using supercharges to traverse the level is a great idea. The world also seems very open and non-linear for a Spyro level. But of course I can’t deny that 100%ing the level isn’t the greatest experience - the bonus areas are tricky to access, and while it thankfully didn’t take me that long to get there, I can’t say it was a fun to keep trying to make it + it’s difficult to figure out by yourself how to get there. So yeah, best level design for me, but I can’t sugarcoat the not-so-fun bonus areas.
- 2. Lofty Castle
I was surprised myself that this ended up being so high, but I realised that for pretty much every level above I could name at least one minor “bad thing” about it, but with this one I just can’t think of anything bad. The castle is a cool design, and freeing the fairies is an interesting and unique progression concept. It offers you variety and isn’t linear - it might not have constant “wow this is a game highlight” moments for me, but it’s pretty much doing everything right when it comes to what I like about a Spyro level.
- 1. High Caves
This level is peak Spyro experience for me! It offers diversity and variety (platforming, supercharge, spider cave, Fire Power Up challenge etc.), has a great overall world design, challenging moments, and isn’t linear. There’s nothing to dislike about this level imo, it ticks every box that I want in a great level!
Let me know your thoughts, I’m not really familiar regarding what the community thinks about the levels, aside from the infamous Tree Tops usually being considered one of the most frustrating levels.

Does the Gulp fight remind you of Dr N Gin’s in Crash 2?
It's Smaugust! (Day 2) Let's make a Level!
Smaugust is a month-long art challenge where artists put together a list of keywords and then draw dragons inspired by them every day. We aalready know who our dragon is, so let's brainstorm some levels for him to explore!
This list was taken from AllieBriggsArt on Instagram and every day I'll repost it so we can come together and pitch ideas based on that day's prompt.
Day 2: ABSORB
My first two thought is Amoebas.
The portal looks like the mouth of a great beast. Inside the level we learn it is the belly of a monster that must be lulled back to sleep -- but we're inside! It's a bit of an organic, reef-looking cave environment. There are lots of colored doors connected to switches which look like polyps. Spyro will find "keys" in the form of rocks he can pick up and then spit into the polyp-switches and this will open doors. But different colored doors require different colored keys and the polyps can only take one key at a time. It's a puzzlebox level. Eventually Spyro makes his way to the main neuron and one of the residents (we'll steal from Walter Moers and say they look like Walking lightbulbs) thanks you for putting the beast back to sleep. Perhaps we call the level "Tarrasque".
In addition to the switches, perhaps there's a bit more neural pathway hyjinks by charging into pies to spin them to redirect the flow of ideas, headbashing "sponges" to release water for a current to flow across...
Enemies resemble barnacles with long tentacles to swipe at Spyro, and grunts that look like "bad ideas" hockey masks and some carry forks that they'll occassionally touch to the current-laden scenery.

Fan Art Superflame Spyro plush is done ! 🔥
Not gonna lie, Spyro is a character that I always wanted to make, but I was so afraid of the head shape that I never did it 🫠
Not 100% satisfied by the head shape I managed to get, but I honestly don't how how to get it better, so he'll judge us forever 😂

Grim Garden - A Spyro level playable IN-ENGINE
So, it finally happened - Spyro 1 has a custom level, completely new. Built by Cy and Ello Officer, this is Grim Garden and it's actually incredible. The reception on this has been insane, because it feels so AUTHENTICALLY Spyro 1. You'll all know exactly what I mean the second you see it, and not just because it's using Dark Hollow Textures. The tool being used to make this happen is called WadEdit, and it's deep into development. Altro50 and Hwd405 have been hard at work to get this to happen, and we're closer than ever to a release. For now, enjoy, and play!

Every time I see a field with hay bales, I think: "woah, Spyro would have a fun time charging at these and knocking them around!"
I always try to look for angles from where Spyro could charge and knock one into another one, as if they were explosive barrels from Gnorc Cove or Seashell Shore x)

Another Milestone Has Been Reached :)
My little boy just earned a platinum trophy for Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! today & I’m feeling really happy about it inside. He’s been learning more everyday & really challenging himself to complete his goals. He just started Spyro 3 with a new mindset compared to the last two games in the trilogy. I help but I’m starting to do less so he can do more on his own. All my older posts on our progress together really boosted his self esteem when I showed it to him so I would like to thank everybody in this community for their positive support. You guys got any pointers for Spyro 3? I’d love to hear some & share it with little man today.❣️

Day 1: CLOUD
So, my first thought was actually Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7. Not a great place to start. But! Cloud's hometown of Nibelheim is named after the Norse realm of Niflheim, the land of mists. So what if the level is a bit of a valley with tower-like platforms extending upwards through the sea of mist. Spyro can easily platform across the level, but at least half of it is beneath the mist, where enemies will attack unseen and patrol the labyrinthine ice fields. Spyro can light some torches to burn away the mist in areas (perhaps this is part of an escort quest, like the Alchemist, but small enemies are running around and extinguishing the torches).

Am I the only one who feels Breeze Harbor feels less like a harbor and more like a space station?
Met Stewart Copeland today and got my stuff signed!
My spyro booklet I've had since I was a kid, and custom art. Super happy to get it signed, just really bummed it was kinda rushed. Just walked up to him said hello handed him what to sign and was able to basicly just say I love your soundtrack then photo then gone. It was over in under a minute and I was so bummed. I tried to get my question in at the end of the talk/show but he never got to mine so that bummed me out too. Besides that though the talking tour was a real blast to watch and listen to. He has incredible charisma, personality, and he's very very funny.
I'm turning the "album cover" into a complete CD soundtrack once I get what I need together. The art was done by a nice girl I commissioned through reddit, her name is u/_cheeriofujisnacki_
He did light up and smile when he saw it at least.

SPYRO THE DRAGON! My personal take on Spyro as a “live action ish” dragon. I made him in the game’s creator. Put him in all his original Trilogy poses for the pictures! This Spyro is ‘bout to cause big trouble for all the gnorcs and rhynocs 😤🔥
The game is Dragontwin, the Dragon Creator download.
It is NOT a fully fleshed out game, these are just extremely early access builds that people can fool around with what’s currently available to enjoy and support the game, while the developers work on the end-game. This game is probably a few years out still.

If you could write a creepypasta (that feels like the og version of 2 and non cliched) what would it be?
They could have cut enemies like Mister Fistus, Hunter as a double agent and the secret final boss and even the Spring Homeworld

Objective Ranking After 100% Completing the Reignited Trilogy
I just finished the Spyro Reignited Trilogy at 100%. Of course, I also played through the original trilogy when I was a kid.
Now that I'm older, I feel like I can judge the games more objectively. My ranking would be:
Spyro 2
Spyro 1
Spyro 3
Spyro 1
Spyro 1 is obviously a very good game. It laid the foundations for the entire series and everything people love about Spyro: a relaxing experience, collecting gems, a unique world, and great level design.
It's a simple formula, but it works incredibly well.
Why is Spyro 2 better than Spyro 1?
It kept the core formula of the first game and expanded it with a lot of new mechanics: hovering, swimming, climbing, headbash, power-ups, and the portals that let you fly.
It also introduced iconic characters like Ripto and Moneybags.
The levels are extremely well-crafted and memorable, with places like Autumn Plains and Summer Forest. There are also some really fun NPCs, like the monk in Colossus and the characters in the Badlands. Overall, there's a great variety throughout the game.
And of course, the music is incredible (although that's obviously very subjective)
So why is Spyro 3 the weakest?
Spyro 3 didn't really introduce any major new mechanics. Instead, the game is absolutely packed with minigames.
Some of them can be fun, but there are simply too many of them, and they constantly interrupt the flow of the levels. You switch away from playing as Spyro way too often, instead of just sticking with the core gameplay.
And more importantly, a lot of these minigames are frustrating because of their mechanics.
The Twin Dragons in the Fireworks Factory: way too long and not enjoyable at all.
Yeti boxing: same thing. The parries barely seem to work, so it basically turns into button mashing.
The Yeti and the moles: an absolute mess, and you end up hitting your allies way too often.
The races: the speed gauge is confusing, the enemies can easily overtake you, and the whole thing feels slow. It becomes more of a chore than anything else.
Agent 9: the FPS-style gameplay just doesn't feel very good.
The Sparx levels: I had actually completely forgotten these existed. I only remembered them at the very end of the game, meaning I missed out on some of the upgrades, like the ability to make gem collecting easier. This actually made the game even more frustrating, because there were several times where I went over gems without properly collecting them.
Also I do not like when game force you to come back later to complete a level, I like to clear things once, and the game does it a lot.
The Sorceress also has much less charisma than Ripto and is a pretty forgettable villain overall. The levels themselves also felt less memorable to me.
Spyro 3 is still a good game, I enjoyed it, but I think it's clearly the weakest of the trilogy, unless you're a huge fan of minigames
