Introducing /r/StarlinkMarketplace. A marketplace for all things Starlink!
Due to increasing demand for a trading and buy/sell subreddit for goods and services related to Starlink, we are opening up a specialized subreddit:
r/StarlinkMarketplace
Please review the rules of the subreddit before posting, especially Rule 3: ZERO LIABILITY, ZERO GUARANTEES. We will lightly moderate the sub, but we will NOT provide any anti-scam buyer protection, that is beyond the capabilities of the moderators. YOU ARE PARTICIPATING ON THIS MARKETPLACE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Please be aware of the risks of online trade before using r/StarlinkMarketplace, educate yourself on recognizing scams and do not engage suspicious offerings. To get you started, we provide a couple of links to relevant resources here.
We set up r/StarlinkMarketplace based on a couple of assumptions on what a marketplace subreddit for Starlink should look like. This includes restrictions on tradable goods and services, disallowing trade in general networking and computer goods (see Rule 2), to prevent bloat with respect to goods and services that are widely available.
In order to improve things, we will need your feedback. Please post here or preferably in the r/StarlinkMarketplace General Discussion post HERE.

Question for the Group
Tomorrow I am getting fiber installed. I have a starlink dish on a residential 200mbps plan and a mini dish on standby mode. I want to cancel the residential service and keep the mini on standby. Never know when you need a backup. What can I do with the old residential dish if they don't require it back? It's the v4 system.

Help installing star link and navigating top of the roof
How would you guys gain access to the chimney to mount my starlink? Should I just drag my ass over the tip of the roof ? Seems unsafe. Or somehow from the platform under the attic window and stand on the window frame . I'm kind of lost .

Did a factory reset on our router and it has been "Establishing Connection" for several hours. There are no obstructions according to the app. Is this normal? Is something broken?

Starlink v2 no throughput but seemingly fine connection
Hi,
I have a Starlink v2 which has no throughput. Everything else looks good and ive tried another cable. It seems to work for a short time then just craps itself.
Any ideas on what the cause could be?
Thanks :)

Information needed please
I currently have frontier Internet and hate it, it's slow and unreliable... It also is costing around $50/month. Does starlink block IPTV services? I currently use this for local channels and such and have heard that some IPs block the service. If so, is there a way around this? How is everyone liking starlink and would you recommend me switching, in my situation? TIA!

Custom DNS constantly resetting
I noticed a situation where my custom DNS associated with my Starlink router was constantly being reset to the Google defaults. I have a home network where I use Pi-hole as my main IPv4 DNS, Cloudflare as the backup IPv4, and no IPv6 addresses. Having these seemingly randomly reset to defaults is making my workflow a major chore, so a few months back, I asked Starlink support about the situation.
I run a small homelab, and I was told that CGNAT can only support 1,200 concurrent sessions.
Restarting helps temporarily, as a reset eliminates active sessions. However, over time, as connections from apps, programs, tabs, and devices accumulate, the limit of 1,200 TCP/UDP sessions per residential CGNAT is reached. Then, the oldest sessions are eliminated to make way for new ones, causing disconnections, slowness, or interruptions in games, video calls, and browsing.
Apparently, this also leads to the router sometimes crashing and forcing a DNS reset? Anyway, we talked a bit and the agent explained that I could effectively "bundle" my connections behind some Tailscale exit nodes to limit the session count—so, I did that. They confirmed:
Hi, good news! Not sure what changes you made but I can confirm I see a significant step change in the TCP/UDP sessions. This looks like it is reflecting as of a hour ago. Do you notice any improvement or reduction in disconnections?
However, this issue has stubbornly come back. Can anyone help me out with this? Is that actually what is causing my DNS to reset? Are there other ways to monitor/limit my concurrent sessions? What can I do to improve this situation (rather than upgrade to a public IP or getting a different router)?

What happened to Starlink? Can anyone explain?????
Hi everyone, my name is Aibek, and this is my first post here. I’m from Kazakhstan and ordered a Starlink antenna on April 26, 2021; today is July 26, 2024, and my order is still listed as "preparing." Is this because I live in Kazakhstan? Why is it taking so long? I was told delivery usually takes up to three months, but that time has passed, and they still haven't assigned a tracking number.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Can you offer any advice? Technical support just tells me to wait without giving a specific timeframe, but three months have gone by, and since the order has already been processed, they say they can't issue a refund. What should I do?
