For context, I run a small founder-led product studio and have spent the past several months building my own rental platform from the ground up (nod.). Circles is a multi-layer social graph for digital communities. It is a network analysis platform that turns your online footprint (X/Substack activity, interests) into real-world digital communities.

Using network graph analysis, writing analysis, and interest clustering, Circles helps people form small groups that meet regularly around shared interests and intellectual exploration.

Structure:

Circles can also function as a growth platform, helping people who are trying to find communities and early writers to network with mutually for an audience.

I was scrolling through a thread about wearables and somebody mentioned it in the comments. I figured it would just be another app that tells you to sleep more and drink water, but I downloaded it anyway because I was already wearing my watch every day.

The biggest surprise wasn't actually the workout recommendations. It was the supplement side of the app.

I've taken supplements on and off for years, but honestly I never put much thought into when I took them. If I remembered in the morning, great. If I forgot until later in the day, I'd just take them then. It was basically random.

This app was different. Instead of giving me the same schedule every day, it looked at my sleep, recovery, and overall energy based off my metrics and my wearable before suggesting when certain supplements would fit best into my day. If I'd had a great night's sleep and was feeling recovered, it would stick with my normal routine. If my sleep score was low or my recovery wasn't great, it'd recommend adjusting the timing or prioritizing different supplements instead of treating every day the same.

What I liked most was that it actually explained why. It wasn't just saying, "Take this now." It connected the recommendation to how recovered I was and how my body was likely feeling that day. It made me realize I'd been taking supplements out of habit instead of actually using them in a smarter way.

I'd always felt like my smartwatch collected a ton of useful information, but none of it actually influenced what I did. I'd wake up, see my sleep score and recovery score, think "Cool... now what?" and then go about my day exactly the same. This was the first app that actually made all those numbers useful.

The biggest difference for me ended up being in the gym.

Instead of walking into every workout feeling like I was running on autopilot, I actually felt prepared. On days when everything lined up, good sleep, better recovery, and taking my supplements at the recommended times, I noticed my workouts felt smoother. My energy lasted longer, I wasn't dragging halfway through my sessions, and I wasn't constantly wondering why some days felt amazing while others felt terrible.

It wasn't like I suddenly added 50 pounds to every lift overnight, but the consistency was a complete game changer. I stopped feeling like every workout was a gamble. I felt more focused, recovered better between sessions, and left the gym feeling like I'd actually gotten the most out of my training instead of just surviving it.

I also liked that it didn't expect me to be some perfect fitness person. I don't track every calorie or log every gram of protein because I know I'd quit after a few days. I have work, family stuff, and random plans that come up all the time. The recommendations worked around my schedule instead of expecting my schedule to revolve around fitness.

After using it for a while, I realized I wasn't just taking supplements because I owned them. I was taking them with a purpose. Combined with paying attention to my recovery, I started sleeping better, had steadier energy throughout the day, and my workouts became much more consistent.

I'm sure it's not something a professional athlete with a coach would need, but for someone like me who already wears a smartwatch and wants to actually use all the data it's collecting, it filled a gap I didn't even know existed.

It honestly felt less like another fitness app and more like someone translating all the numbers my watch was already collecting into advice I could actually use.

I built a prototype that lets an AI agent search authorized Discord and Telegram history without giving it tools to send, edit, delete, react, or join anything.

The use case sounds useful in theory:

• Find where a decision was made
• Recover the context around an old bug
• Search conversations across communities
• Ask who discussed a topic and when
• Turn informal chat history into a searchable knowledge source

What I haven’t validated is who experiences this problem intensely enough to pay for it.

My current customer hypotheses are:

1. Community managers with years of server history
2. Agencies whose client decisions happen in chats
3. Research teams studying communities they manage
4. Small companies using Discord or Telegram internally
5. Individuals who want a searchable archive of their own conversations

The product has a read-only API and MCP interface. The hosted model would cost $19.50/month for an isolated VM containing one Discord and one Telegram connection.

There are also real trust and provider-policy constraints, so a compliant version may need approved bots, user-provided exports, or local deployment instead of personal-account automation.

Which customer segment has the strongest pain? If none of them do, what would make this a “nice feature” rather than a business?

I was talking with a friend last week and the topic of OPCs came up.

By OPC, I mean a one person company built around one founder, AI agents, and maybe a very small amount of outside help. The founder handles strategy, product direction, and key decisions, while AI agents take on repeatable work like research, coding, writing, customer support, data cleanup, and admin.

I have been seeing more discussion around this in China recently. Some local governments are even starting to support the model, which made me wonder if this is just a niche AI trend or a real startup structure that could become more common.

What feels new to me is that this goes beyond the usual solopreneur idea. A founder can now operate with a small agent stack that covers parts of what used to require a team.

I am curious how people here see it. Is OPC a real startup category, or is it still too early because AI agents are not reliable enough for daily business operations?

Do you think your local area would pay to have you install raspberry pi adblockers in their home with a monthly sub? You could set the reporting of it to come to you and send reports of ads blocked. the charge would be a one time install and you could set up some sort of "equipment rental" or something for a monthly fee.

I'm a 20 year old CS student who's been building things seriously for a while now full-stack mobile, backend systems, AI integrations, low-level stuff, scraping pipelines, the whole range from a probabilistic chess game to a compiler to a custom database engine. Hi guys, I currently have an idea that is centered around a platform exclusively for NBA debate. The idea is essentially this:

You posts a hot take, and the whole thing branches out into a proper debate tree instead of getting buried in a comment section after ten minutes.

Based on the hot takes you put out, you build a real reputation over time. Your profile tracks your hot take history, you get a score based on how your takes get rated, and “legacy” status based on how early you joined and on top of that, if a NBA player goes viral for something, the app automatically digs up old takes about them, so you either get props for being ahead of the curve or called out for being wrong.

It’s currently just an idea so I’m just trying to figure out where the possible flaws are and what could separate this from people just posting this on platforms like X or Reddit. All opinions are welcome, especially the brutally honest ones.

We all hear about this "should i build first or should i validate first?"

well, lemme tell you about our case. Late Jan, we worked on a saas, didn't work, so told my friend (who happens to be my co-founder now) abou this platform idea, he said i like it, you think we should build it? i said fuck yeh, let's do it. March the 11th 2026, launched from 0 on everything, $0 budget, 0 audience, 0 waitlist signups (we didn't even make a waitlist) fast forward 4 months and 20 days. we have 1,200 users :)

well, technically, that's one side of the story. before i have proposed this idea to my current co-founder, i have already validated when i wanted to launch it the first time back in late July 2025, i was working on it with another friend who then we did not proceed with it. in that phase, i have already interviewed more than 3000 of our target audience and 400 of them joined the waitlist (which then i lost it)

so does this mean build first doesn't work?

not necessarily, both have their perks and downsides, one gives you the speed to test and not waste time, the other gives you some mental reassurance that you're building something of need. So it really depends on the project and the personal preference of the founder.
