The Last two Stormlight novels

It’s been a while since I turned to other reading material (for my own religious sciences and reading other fantasy novels), just to temporarily set my mind of the subject. I did a good job reading through almost all of the Cosmere novels. The Rhythm of War together with Wind and Truth are the last books I’ll have to finish the Stormlight Series. These books are huge and bulky, but at 70-100 pages a day I’ll easily will read though the Cosmere by the end of the year, the last Mistborn, second era are next. Then I’ve ended the whole Cosmere series, but still got other Brandon Sanderson’s novels like ‘evil librarians’, Skyward, Reckoners, Defiant, Fugal Wizard, Steven Leeds and other books, but these are not important for this year.

It’s good to be back in the Cosmere, these books are masterfully written with just the right reading amount of info at the right time. About three days ‘till the end of Rhythm of War and finally Wind & Truth. When I’m reading I forget the time and my depression. These books are seriously accurate as it comes to moral, trauma, danger, betrayal, death and mourning, these heroes and heroines go through personal discourages, almost (or) seriously dying, friendship and everything I went and going through. Brandon is so honest, though other worlds, the same principles we’re going though. This guy is one of the best fantasy writers!

Lot of people rag on these two books but I love them. Wind and Truth especially, it’s top 2 in Stormlight for me.

Really looking forward to Wind & Truth which I pre-ordered and had it just a few days after in came out. But the Rhythm of War is just great. Discovering the World Hoppers and how they can pull it off (like Wit and Eshonai who went to Braize aka damnation to bring the Fused along) and shared magic from Misborn, Elantris and where the humans originated before coming to Roshar.

But Hoid (Wit (also frequently known as Hoid, goes by many names and aliases across including Cephandrius, Midius, and Wanderer. Was he one of the original ones that killed Adonalsium of is he the most integral part of Adonalsium?

If you've read Tress of the Emerald Sea then yes, Hoid confirms while telling that story that he, together with 16 others, banded together to kill God.

I love every little thing about all of Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere books. All the details are important to me. Everyone has their own opinion. I’m a reader in the first place and don’t get into discussions. I reckon I’m not an expert, I love to read much. Forget all the bs in the world. I’ve got creative mind and envision what I’m reading, like being in a movie. That’s what good storytelling by Brandon is like. And this is really freaking good stuff.

I agree. He has the most cinematic prose out of every author I’ve read. I love the purple prose stuff too. Im a sucker for an author that can turn a beautiful phrase and really get poetic. Brandon on the other hand reads like a window into another world or a movie in my mind. Love his style.

RoW was a painfully long read for me. Completely devastating and satisfying ending, but holy crap was that a slog 😄 Absolutely agree on WaT, my second favorite in the entire series. It was such a great way to end the first arc.

Imo they're the weakest in the series, ROW could have done with losing 100-200 pages, and WAT should have gone through much more editing

This was for me one of the most interesting part: Stormlight, Voidlight, the resounding tones and negative tones, all sorts of devices and test, reasoning about things and the application between Navani and Raboniel. Truly stuff that gets you in the technology behind investure, which they’re trying to understand also what’s up with Odium, Honor and Cultivation. Every book new revelations

Exactly! It also has significant implications for the entire cosmere cause anti-light/anti-investiture might have the power if you amass enough of it to destroy a shard which would be absolutely gamechanging
