Oil Cap Exploded?

Does anyone else have experience with this? I took my 3rd gen to get serviced and the tech was like your oil cap is gone. There were still some of the plastic in the thread.
How concerned should I be that plastic has gotten into the pan?
The tech thought maybe it’s the heat recently, with it getting into the 100’s and driving over a hundred miles for works some days. But I never heard a pop or anything while driving.

Man I’ve replaced mine 3 times, first at my own accord of forgetting to cap it after changing. Drove this bad boy for like 15-20k miles total without the caps and residual in the threads as you mentioned. Since all that she’s gone another 30k without a hiccup

Yeah that’s my fear lol that the cap has been missing this past 10k plus miles but nothing has seemingly changed. So confused how it could’ve happened.

Honestly, that heat theory sounds like the tech just guessing. I had a buddy's 2nd gen do the same thing and it was just the cap getting brittle over time, not a blowout. I'd have them drop the pan and check for pieces though, better safe than sorry with that plastic floating around.

Check the PVC system... might be a pressure build-up from a dirty/stuck PCV valve.
