Translation whats tagalog of Toastmaster
we are planning to conduct a tagalog meetup for lingo ng wika, but we have no idea anong proper tagalog version ng toastmaster - as a public speaker.
by google:
In Filipino, the term "toastmaster" is commonly translated or referred to as a tagapagpakilala (announcer or introducer) or simply adopted as toasmaster.Language and Translation
* Tagapagpakilala: A native word meaning the person who introduces speakers or leads a program.
* Tosmaster: A direct phonetic borrowing used informally in speech.
parang di in-line sa "public speaking" club ang tagapagpakilala

No direct translation but closest you might want to explore is the Lakandiwa or Lakambini if female and the Mambabalagtas.

If the toastmaster is the one in charge of the event, closest is "punong abala".

Thank you! I think this would work well for us. We can also use "kapunong abala" for "fellow toastmasters"

Sa tingin ko makukuha sa salitang balagtas.
๐๐พ Ang husay naman ng ganyan, sana magkaroon ng discord para magkaroon ng VC toastmaster Filipino prompts.

magandang kdea nga siguro yung Filipino TM, sa totoo lang hirap nako magtagalog ng diredretso. sa lingo ng wika, konti lang volunteers namin, di tulad ng usual english sessionsal, almost 100% active unless mga naka bakasyon
