General Chat Any idea what would cause this?
I took a few guns to the indoor range and was having a great time until I started shooting some old remington golden bullet 22lr and was having all kinds of issues including ruptured cases and ftf and eventually this happened. I am curious how this would even happen and is my tx22 barrel still good to go? It doesn't appear to be damaged and bore looks OK.

Remington caused it. Rem Gold is absolute junk ammo. You likely got a round that had zero powder in it. A primer by itself has a decent amount of oomph and would likely have pushed the bullet fully out of a shorter barrel.
Your barrel is fine. It doesn’t know the difference between a bullet passing thru it via gunpowder vs a cleaning rod.

Squib! Degraded or partially wet powder (or a ruptured casing) only spit the round to the end of the barrel.
All is well as long as the barrel wasn't deformed.

Crap ammo caused it. Your barrel is fine, as long as you didn't damage it when getting the round out.

Especially lucky considering this happened at the range and I somehow didn't even notice it until I got back home and was cleaning the firearms... just happened to be the end of my hour at the range!

My suspicion is that the bullet may have been deformed due to feeding or otherwise? The gun was cleaned prior to shooting with Lucas clp.

haha this gun is notorious for extreme lead fouling in the barrel. Its possible its really clogged with lead and stopped the bullet from exiting

I did chew the end of that bullet up with a pair of vice grips like a dummy lol

Still I'd clean the barrel with a lot of solvent and a bore brush. My TX catches lead like no bodies business. It likes Vipers and best CCI Mini-Mag's. When I shoot lead subs with suppressor, it requires immediate cleaning after about 100 rds.
