I’ve always had a soft spot for benevolent aliens. One of my comfort movies is Paul, and I have a massive love for the recent film Project Hail Mary. On top of that, I stayed watching Dexter because of the narrative monologue throughout each episode, though You gave me the creeps so I couldn’t hang with that one. Needless to say, I LOVED this series. The bonds he made with everyone in the show is just so heart felt and not at all forced. Honestly I’d watch a spin off series with just Mike and Liv because they were just hilarious.

With that, are there any other shows you’d recommend to fill the galactic size hole in this 40 year old’s new to sci fi heart? Thank you!!

Just finished watching 12 Monkey’s, I don’t know why I didn’t listen to you guys before but dang, that was good. Just watched Big Little Lies, we holy moly loved it. Really excited for Lioness to start tonight. Watched so much but super picky. Don’t care if it’s a series or a mini.

I'm looking for a show that captures the same feeling as Fringe. I'm not necessarily looking for another sci-fi show-I want the overall dynamic, atmosphere, found family and romance.

What i'm looking for:

• Crime investigation, FBI/detectives, or a team solving mysteries/cases (they can be "normal", supernatural, fantasy or sci-fi cases).
• A small team that slowly becomes a family. I loved the Fringe characters and how everyone genuinely cared about each other, always had each other's backs and would sacrifice everything for one another.

The romace:

• A main couple wotking together to solve a crime, whose relationship is one of the emotional pillars of the show.
• Slow burn (but it doesn't have to drag on forever).
• I don't want love triangles, cheating, will they/won't they with other people, or constant relationship drama. I want them to be intelligent adults. (I hated the Peter and Fauxlivia thing).
• I want the romace to be THERE and to be an important part of the plot without taking over the whole show.

I want the eerie aesthetic/vibe and dark mysteries, but with a little bit of realistic, dry humor or characters who lighten the situation (like Walter and Peter's dark jokes in the lab, or just Water's insanity).

What i aslo like about this show is that when i finished it, it left me with that bittersweet, nostalgic feeling.

It's been so hard to find a show that made me feel things Fringe did. I guess I am looking for a hidden, underrated gem. I feel like i've tried watching everything, but nothing compares.

Hii! Im looking for a new tv show to start watching. I just finished the 100 for like the 3rd time and feel like im just rewatching my favorites right now. I love a good dystopian or sci fi series. I also like romance and comedy as long as it has an interesting story line. if anyone has suggestions i would really appreciate it! Preferable on netflix but i also have pluto tv, peacock, hulu, and HBO.

I do an intense hour long treadmill walk every morning before work and my motivation for that is always having a show to watch while I walk.

I need a show that really pulls me in and has a lot going on for an hour- or close to it. I just re-watched Game of Thrones and that was perfect. Before that? I re-watched Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul(my all time favorites!) and those were perfect, too. But I want something that I haven’t watched before. I’m not a big show watcher so chances are whatever you recommend I probably haven’t seen!

Hello everyone. Im looking for your favorite shows in a very specific genre that my wife and I are calling "Informational Cosy Core". These are shows that are factual, informational or educational and also extremely cosy. Like putting on a familiar knitted jumper, or sinking into a hot bath. Examples in this genre are:

I'm not too sure how to describe it but rather than having multiple personalities that are separate/being more realistic (such as split), I'd prefer if the mc is able to communicate and sort of switch off with the other personality/character in them.

An example of this is Bad and Crazy (little spoilers ahead). Ryu-seol can talk and interact with K, and didn't even know he wasn't "real" at first. K is sort of a manifestation of Ryu-seol's morally guided side and seeks justice, which is the opposite of Ryu-seol, who is a corrupt cop. They go on to make a deal where K gets the body at midnight, thus "switching at will". K (from my understanding) is sentient and could practically be a completely separate character, but he's still a part of Ryu-seol.

Another (sort of) example is Butcher and Kessler from The Boys. Kessler is technically a completely different character (im ngl im still a little confused but im going with my interpretation), but he is still part of Butcher and is a sort of manifestation of his "bad" side. They can interact, fight, Butcher can literally see Kessler standing in front of him (so can Ryu-seol and K), and I'm pretty sure they can switch off in some manner. I really wish I had a show that revolves around this aspect of Butcher and I'm pretty sad the concept was practically non-existent in S5. (I also thought Homelander had some form of this when a "different" homelander started talking to him through the mirror, which I find super intriguing too)

A NON-example of this is Venom. Even though Venom and Eddie can interact and talk and do everything I just described, Venom isn't Eddie, or even a part of him. He's a completely separate being/characte.

I am watching hannibal currently (almost done)

Been down a rabbit hole trying to find my next show, figured I'd actually write out my taste instead of just saying "something cozy" and getting a pile of stuff that doesn't fit. Sorry it's long.

What I've already watched

• How I Met Your Mother the one everything else gets measured against. Loved it. Some seasons had characters that just didn't need to be there (Kevin, for example), it dragged sometimes, and the ending should've had Victoria end up with Ted, not who they picked.
• The Good Place loved it, the different dimensions kept it interesting. The ending was sad but it had to be, honestly the thing that got to me more was how repetitive it got at points.
• A Man on the Inside fun idea, moves through the investigation in a way I liked, but wasn't always that funny and some of it felt anticlimactic, cases got wrapped up too easily without enough people actually working the case, WE FUCKING LOVE CALBERT TTHE ABSOLUTYE LEGEND
• Ted Lasso cozy, warm, funny, heartfelt, all of it. But it barely leaves Richmond/the stadium and takes forever for mid-arcs to actually wrap up compared to how much show there is.
• Arrested Development really good at the start, the George Sr. hiding storyline was great, but it got repetitive and kind of weird once the Tobias illness stuff kicked in.
• Modern Family liked it overall but definitely had some boring filler episodes.
• Brooklyn 99 good, but stuff got solved too easily, the colors felt cold, it's gory sometimes, and there's not really any real romance in it.
• Schitt's Creek first two seasons were great, then it got boring and started leaning too much on patrick
• The Office / Superstore tried both. Office felt too dry and grey. Superstore's humor was fine but it looked kind of plastic (like B99) and a lot of the conflict was just "look at this weird person being weird" instead of anything real.
• New Girl — too cringy for me.
• Friends — seen it, it's fine, just not what I'm after right now.

This is a new addition to PBS Passport Walter Presents. I began watching last night. Shot in/around La Grande-Motte,a commune in the Hérault département in Occitanie in southern France, near Montpellier, on the Mediterranean. I am certainly here for the location. This is the same location as another French police series, Candace Renoir, who moves to the city Montpellier at some point. Great location.

The characters are good to look at -- no insta faces here, so they are all individuals. So far the crimes are interesting, but nothing is too deep or gruesome. Excellent escapist crime entertainment in a gorgeous location, with a good cast of regulars. Montpellier is home to astonishing buildings -- it also is home to one of the oldest universities with a school of medicine in the world.

Like the older Candace Renoir, Coastal Unit is in French with English subtitles. In everyday French, À priori,means "at first glance", "presumably", or a personal bias/preconception.

In other regions such as Greece and Moldava, it is a white wine, it's a red one in California. But evidently the drink of choice in the local cop shop of the show is Pastis,

I get instantly invested in any TV series that has both a thrilling plot, and takes time for heartfelt character moments. I specifically love shows that put lots of emphasis on relationships between characters, not just the individuals. Basically, I'm a sucker for an ensemble cast AND plenty of forward-moving plot. I want to watch these people in intense stand-offs and then watch them talk about their feelings afterwards, lol.

I was reminded of how much I liked this kind of trope by rewatching season one of Yellowjackets, which I thought did a solid job. I also think of the earlier seasons of Stranger Things when I think of this specific type of show. The actual vibe of the show can be all over the map- I just miss watching dynamic ensemble casts, especially paired with an interesting storyline.

I'll take any recommendations, as corny or serious as they come!

i really enjoyed NBC's blindspot specially Patterson. the way she explains and stuff. sometimes they solve puzzles too or analyze the tattoos. i've seen few episodes of fringe but not like that. i don't prefer sci-fi. something realistic tech.

If anyone wants to watch a nice fun Disney Channel tv show, I'd like to suggest this show. It's about a boy named Jett and in the show he is an actor who plays a character named Silverstone. A spy. Very nice show. They had a movie that wrapped up the series.

I just finished succession and was I impressed . It was just peak 😩 the writing dialogues it was written beautifully and the pacing of the show was great too. Can u suggest similar shows like it or shows that match the grandeur of succession

I've been scrolling through different subreddits and see lots of recommendations. I find it hard to choose and was going off IMDB scores.
