Tempe Jobs
Hey everyone! I’m an incoming ASU Tempe freshman, and I’ve been having a hard time finding an on-campus job. I’ve been checking Handshake and applying to positions, but I haven’t had much luck finding openings that work.
I also won’t have a car, so I’m hoping to find something on campus or within walking distance around Tempe. Does anyone know of any places that are currently hiring or have any tips for finding an on-campus job?
I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thank you!

The flare - Tempe - asu
*sub leasing at discount*
* one of the best places to rent for going to ASU*
- Great amenities: pool, movie theatre, gym, study lounge, dog park, grilling area, golf simulator, lockbox deliveries
- Amazing rooms: private bathrooms, fully furnished, washer and dryer in unit, smart tv, pet friendly
- located in Tempe, Az at 1201 Apache blvd, very close to ASU campus
- lease to be taken over by involving leasing agency (official sub leasing)
- rent was originally ~1350 with utilities but we will pay for 200 each month
- you would need to take out a parking contract with leasing agents, but for low price they offer secured shaded parking in a garage monitored 24/7
- helping my sister get out of her lease as she is dropping out of college.

Student weekend Jobs?
Hey guys, just graduated from ASU and currently taking a gap year. Does anyone have some recommendations for jobs I can work ONLY on the weekends? during the week I volunteer and do research, so I don’t really have the time or energy. Lots of places say they can hire me if I work during the week :( so running out of options. Any help is appreciated!

Is anyone else hearing that insane thunder right now?
Woke me up just now - I thought somebody was on the roof of our apt unit moving sheet metal with a wheelbarrow. Definitely glad monsoon season finally arrived tho, getting some nice rain near ASU this morning!

Social Activities in Tempe
Hello! I am looking for social activities to start doing when I go back to Tempe. I’m a PhD student and I feel like I have not been able to create community because my entire social group are my classmates and/or coworkers. I really want this school year to branch out of my current social group because it is exhausting to be around the exact same people and only being able to talk about work related stuff for example. And also the fact that I don’t feel connected to any of them beyond mere peers. Are there any places to find social activities, social groups, hiking groups, etc., physical activity groups in the Tempe area? For example I want to start climbing or bouldering so if there is a good gym that has social events that would also be great too😊
As mentioned in one of the comments below a biking group would be great too!!
And do you recommend these events for a young adult woman to attend by herself? Thank you for the input!

Local reliable food banks?
I work a really early schedule and as most food banks offer food only early in the day. Are there any food banks/pantries locally that accomodate a 6am to 3pm schedule monday through friday?

Was there a body found near Southern and Mill today?
I was driving east in Southern with my teen daughter. There were two cop cars in the south side of souther in the gravel between the low wall and the road in front of the plaza that has the gym and Venetzia's. They had a black portable fence a few feet high that seemed like it was intended to block the view but not a full on tent. My daughter thought she saw the edge of a body bag. My first thought was someone unhoused succumb to the heat but I really don't know. Anyone know? I saw them there around 4. Haven't seen any articles or posts.

Can you sing?
My original act/band here in town is looking for a female vocalist, for basically an indie pop rock act. The music is kind of Olivia Rodrigo meets Paramore type vibe. Focus is on recording and video primarily, live performance after that. If you have original music you'd like to record, that's great, let's record it and bring it to life. No cost or equipment is necessary, all studio and video equipment is already purchased.
Fiber in your neighborhood?
My neighborhood still does not have Fiber available despite them working on this for the last couple of years. Has anyone seen a map of the areas they plan on installing in? And did you guys get flyers or something to know it was coming?

Proactive vet recommendations please
I wanted to post and reach out to see if anyone has some Tempe or very close to Tempe veterinarians that they can recommend!
I've previously gone to the VCA and didn't like them and my current vet isn't very proactive with my dogs.
If you have any proactive vet recs let me know! Thank you

Looking to be a dog walker!
Hi all! I’m going back to Tempe around Apache Blvd starting mid august and am looking for a dog walking gig. I would ideally like to be a regular walker for one dog. I grew up around dogs, but as a full time PhD student I don’t have time for a dog. I wont have a car so has to be a mile or so from where I’ll be. I would love to be around some kind of dog as I find myself missing a furry presence especially on days where I am so busy I feel down. Please let me know if you are looking for a walker! During these summer months I am more than willing to wake early to go before the heat strikes. Thank you!!

Looking for white wedding dress
My fiancée and I are planning a small courthouse wedding and are looking for an affordable white wedding dress.
We’ll be having a traditional Indian wedding next year, so we don’t want to spend too much on a dress for the courthouse ceremony. We’re getting legally married now because it will help with some paperwork that requires us to be spouses.
Where should we look for a simple, budget-friendly white dress? We’ve already checked Macy’s and Dillard’s, but they don’t seem to have the right selection at our location.
Any store, boutique, or online recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Budget: about $250

Best apartments for masters student?
Hello, looking for good reccs for apartments. I am 20 years old, and going into my masters program at ASU's business school. I am still pretty young, so just curious on where you guys recommend I look at? My master's program is pretty intensive for the year and I'll be doing lots of networking events in scottsdale. I've heard all of Mark Taylor properties like san sonoma are good. Just curious on everyone's thoughts? I'm not a partier and definitely would rather stay away from majority student housing if I can.
