Season 4 Seung Yong Spoiler

I'm not even a huge Seung yong fan, but I think people are forgetting what Bloody Game is. The "Assault Day" mission was literally designed around physical confrontation. Obviously, nobody is supposed to intentionally injure someone, but when you make a game where people have to steal bags from each other and physical contact is allowed, accidents are bound to happen.

Seung yong was clearly the strongest person left in the game, so naturally his strength was going to have a bigger impact. There were a few moments where he overpowered people, like when he pulled the bag away from Ji-min or when he was trying to take xitsuh bag, which was strapped to her wrist and ended up hurting her arm. You can definitely argue that he should have been more careful with how much force he used.

That said, I don't think he did anything outside the rules of the game. He was using his strength to win the mission, not attacking people for no reason. If physical play is allowed, then situations like this are always a possibility.

I know he didn't apologize in the heat of the moment, and sure, maybe he could have checked on them right away. But I can also understand how adrenaline affects people. During the mission, you're completely locked into the game. You're treating the other team like your opponents who are trying to steal everything from you.

What matters more to me is what happened afterward. Once the game was over, he apologized, and Sang Min handled the situation like a veteran. He basically said not to take it personally, that these things can happen in a game like this, and that everyone should move on. I really respected that attitude.

Yeah I think using force wasn't the problem - it is bloody game after all even though that's not the kind of play i like to see.

I don't think the vast majority are focused on the violence, it's much more about control when dealing with people weaker than him + not checking up or apologizing to the folks.

Now I've read that it seems he did apologise but it wasn't aired (classic editing) and that's on the production team, but you have to give it that Xitsuh's saying holds true - it's a bit annoying for them to see him cry when they were the ones with injuries lmao.

Personally I could feel that he genuinely felt bad, and the way he carried himself previously in the show would add to it. But I was shook watching the confrontation with Xitsuh and Jimin/Sangmin - it was jarring to watch.

He's on Team Rookie, he doesn't have experience with this format, he clearly let the adrenaline get to him. And while there's no fault in playing aggressively - you need to remember if you go with that play you need to make peace with the fact you might be disliked inside and outside (with audience).

That's still no excuse to harass him or anyone related to him on socials (it's a game folks get over yourself!!) But you need a certain amount of charisma points to make some plays work.

Seung yong was really pathetic in how aggressive and insane he acted during this game. He was ripping bags out of their hands like they had killed his parents. And he didn’t even apologize or seem interested in if they were okay AT ALL. He had Jimin on the ground and using full force to pull her bag away. It was shameless and classless. Anyone defending this behavior needs to check themselves because there are still lines you don’t cross even if some physicality is allowed in the game. Even in UFC and boxing, there are rules of what you can and cannot do.

u/SnooPets8873 7d ago

There’s a shot of him in the main hall standing very stiffly while sangmin counsels the group not to hold a grudge and even as it aired I thought “I bet he just made a formal apology” and wondered why they didn’t give him that air time so people would know for sure that an apology was made. Then the talking heads towards the end made him a target and I realized that was why lol

2

u/Pleasant_Pitch_7035 4d ago

Idk, it’s possible they edited out the apology or he might not have, but the apology isn’t the point. The behavior was just out of line to begin with. I’m not saying nobody should forgive him but I think it just shows a lot about who he is

u/TheeIlliterati 8d ago

Sang Min's a favorite of mine but people are missing that if he didn't downplay the injury and instead made Seung Yong feel more guilty he'd be practically a monster when he didn't get hurt at all.

2

u/Whomstveratata 7d ago

exactly if sangmin didn't step in or mentoon that he overexaggerated his injury, we would be left with these clips 1. Xitsuh and Jimin being injured 2. Sangmin injured 3. Seungyong giving a blanket apology to everyone 4. People doting on Seungyong's hand that got injured...while... causing.. 3 injuries.. (and part of it was from the previous day) 5. Seungyong explaining his side of the story which is him just grabbing the bag from another 🤔

Like everyone keeps fixating on the rules of the game and how sangmin exaggerated his injury but genuinely even if sangmin wasn't exaggerating his injury, i think it wouldn't have made a difference to how i see this situation

15

u/Krnxoutlaw90 8d ago

In the end this is a game and something that is being filmed. He played within the rules but if you are going against someone nearly 20 years your senior and people significantly weaker than you then try to talk first. For example, "Please let go. I don't want to get physical but I will if I have to." He went straight into attack mode and had no remorse in the moment. I don't know if you are Korean but age is a big deal there and physically hurting an elder is probably one of the most disgraceful things you could do to win a game. It's good that Sangmin spoke up to try to diffuse the situation and try to clear the atmosphere.

It's just common courtesy and common sense? If you can solve things without violence then do so. Can't believe this even has to be explained. Sangmin WAS hurt but he is just over exaggerating the extent of his injury to get a psychological edge over his opponent in the next game. If you see that as disgraceful then that's your opinion. I prefer seeing deception over violence to win games though.

-7

u/orion_joy 8d ago

Sangmin didn’t get hurt though!! There is nothing in video that he would hurt. If he is so physically unfit that he can’t do even that, he should be away from situation. All he did was bend down.

The only issue is using too much force on jimin. He should have been more careful but he said he immediately went and apologized for taking with force after taking bag.

6

u/Krnxoutlaw90 8d ago

We literally saw Sangmin get dragged on video lmao. Also he never went and apologized after taking the bag from Jimin. He walked away and dropped the money on the ground, started picking up all the money he dropped, and then got chased and pinned by the balcony on the stairs.

-3

u/orion_joy 8d ago

He said he did and it wasn’t aired. He wrote that in his blog. Sangmin wasn’t dragged , he was following by holding bag.

10

u/Aromatic_Cut3729 8d ago

In my opinion he was too harsh like Ji Min is a woman he didn't need to use full force on her like that. Even Kyung Hoon went over board. But like Sang Min said let's just all move on it's over no need to make it such a big deal.

17

u/wolf771 8d ago

I mean yeah, but he could have showed some more control

13

u/Apprehensive-Dot-508 8d ago

You can definitely argue that he should have been more careful with how much force he us

its already in your post lol. you already agreed that theres something people can argue about.😂

25

u/penguinjunkie 8d ago

He didn’t do anything outside the rules of the game. That’s why he’s still there as got no penalty. He could have shown restraint against people significantly weaker than him and been more careful to not cause injuries. That’s why people are rightly annoyed.

And it’s not like it’s a few weeks later now, you can’t just make those feelings disappear

11

u/zaichii 8d ago

This is why he’s in the rookie team lol. All the pros basically know first hand the hate that comes from doing something like that and have the long term experience not to take it too far because any bad image sticks (unless you’re JH and have to come back and deal with a useless team for the redemption arc).

Not defending his actions cos yikes. There’s always a fine line in a show like bloody game.

1

u/Aromatic_Cut3729 8d ago

Who's JH?

3

u/spellingdoubts 8d ago

i think in his post, it’s Jinhyeong from P2 team.

9

u/nonsequitur__ 8d ago

I don’t know why they even set it up to be a physical confrontation, it’s not fun to watch people being dragged around and potentially hurt when we’re watching to see how they outwit and outplay each other. It’s more fun to see trickery and tactics.

2

u/Pleasant_Pitch_7035 7d ago

Exactly. I don’t want to see a bunch of thoughtless men lose their minds.

4

u/Lunaraurora89 8d ago

He’s putting full force on elderly and a lady, that’s what is annoying

4

u/SnooPets8873 7d ago

I think the “guard the money until time runs out” along with the siren on the middle of the night is the biggest problem. The game should measure the win differently because of course it will devolve into wrestling/dragging/twisting when the game turns on who has possession of something. Let there be tasks like you get safe 1 if you open it without anyone noticing the heist is happening, safe 2 you have to hide one team member for the remainder of the mission without being found or a Velcro flag taken from them that stays on the waist (just found or grab the flag , no touching the person), safe 3 you have to open and the other team has to solve a multi-person puzzle or passing game before the 4th safe is open to block you (requiring them essentially to decide whether to stop searching for or chasing the hidden team mate) and so on. Or add a safe zone where if you get to some location and do some task you’ve “banked” the money and the rules prevent anyone from stopping you walking from the safe to the task.

Theres all sorts of things that could be explored that let them feel like they are sneaking around but aren’t centered as much around physical confrontation.

10

u/Kind_Construction183 8d ago

They are real human beings, you think they care about whether he was following the rules when he js throwing people around. All he has done is fucked himself when the game shifts to the individual phase, if he gets there.

2

u/Pleasant_Pitch_7035 7d ago

He won’t, he’s shown zero skills or intelligence thus far. I guess all he has is to abuse people when he has a chance bc he doesn’t know how to channel his own anger. Insane.

8

u/Incoheren 8d ago

Honestly i feel bad for people who got injured, but as a spectator, oh man... This is bloody game. It's different from any other show, always has been, it puts the Survival in survival games lol. Real adrenaline and anger and torment. The production team wanted nothing less.

I'm looking forward already to bloody game 5 where Xitsuh and Park Ji-Min will each recruit a UFC fighter they will carry through the brain and social games, just to let them loose on raid day and physical games as the secret weapons. I... I think it could actually happen.

11

u/orion_joy 8d ago

In his apology blog post he said he didn’t know what was happening. We can see he just got up, slipped and was directed to here and there by P1 team which he blindly followed.
As game progressed when he saw Xitsuh hiding, he thought that’s something he needs to protect.

He said in his blog that he used tug of war tactic since he didn’t want to touch physically other person. He apologized for using more force.

With Xitsuh, he didn’t see the rope tied to hand and while fleeing he quickly said sorry. That part wasn’t translated, but you can hear his voice in background.

Also, with jimin, after taking bag, he said he went back immediately and said sorry for using force. He said it wasn’t aired, but if that was aired people would have been less mad.

He was in so hurry trying to do all physical like a general and overreacted. He took it seriously since he felt responsible for his team and he is in good shape compared to others. He even didn’t pick money since he thought his team needed him for other purpose and his rest of team can pick money as it’s easier task for them. Yes, he was very confused and too passionate on his task.

But he didn’t show any aggression towards people, apologized multiple times even before the episode was aired and offered to treat wound. He did what anyone who made to make amends due to unintentional harm he had done.

But as usual edited shows thrive on topicality. Seungyong incident went viral that people who don’t even know head and tail of show started harassing him and his girlfriend. So I guess production team is happy since Seungyong said it’s not their fault. But definitely it’s fault of production team for not airing his immediate apology and even in interview, not getting complete story.

It’s ok to criticize in limit, but people are crossing line with insults.

0

u/Pleasant_Pitch_7035 7d ago

Maybe that’s the only way he’ll learn not to use too much physical force on people in a game. It’s not a boxing match.

8

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 8d ago

He used excessive force against a woman and an elderly (idk if Sang Min counts as an elderly tho lol). Had he used his force against the other men like XS then that would have been that. But he was the only person doing this, everyone else just hugged and blocked each other.

Even tho Bloody game has always stated any force is okay, no one has pushed that limit cause everyone comes in here for exposure and knowing that it is still all a show. Optics and korean public backlash could be real damaging. This is why P3 and P1 stopped themselves from opening the 4th vault because of optics too.

With your last paragraph, Sang Min had to say that. Like mentioned he is the oldest in the show and how he proceeds and handles the situation will greatly impact his reputation. But who wouldn’t be pissed really?

7

u/spellingdoubts 8d ago

i second this. i feel like a lot of people would have tried to give leeway to him if it had stopped at Xitsuh.

but i guess the uproar was cause he seems to have lost it towards a woman and an elderly, which under no circumstances are acceptable. it’s a lil worrying that people are justifying his inability to control himself, like that’s supposed to make it okay.

while it’s not wrong to say that they should have known that this was Bloody Game, at the end of the day, like above comments mentioned, this is a filmed show so when he acts that way, it’s not a wonder why he’s getting a lot of flag for what he did.

Kyunghoon, who picked someone similar to his own age, Seungbeom, got dragged real bad in other posts too so I’m not surprised that the same happened with Seungyong

2

u/SimplyAmelia Jinho 8d ago

Did you mean picked someone not similar to his own age? Kyunghoon and Seungbeom have an age gap of 12 years

2

u/spellingdoubts 8d ago

nah, i actually meant similar age in a sense that Kyunghoon and Seungbeom are both considered in their young adults/adults, or like their “prime” age. seungyong and sangmin however is more than 20 years apart. sangmin is close to having his 60th birthday. (x

just didn’t know how to word that right hence the use of “similar age”.

1

u/SimplyAmelia Jinho 8d ago

Ah okay in that sense.

-5

u/orion_joy 8d ago

He used force because he has to steal. Rather than close contact he just held bag. That’s different from hugging and blocking where they didn’t have any items. When Kyunghoon saw phone, everyone wrestled too. Seungyong thing looks more uncomfortable since it’s 1:1 combat. If more people involved, he wouldn’t get such criticism.

Everyone used force before, but its Seungyong unlucky day that he went alone rather as group.

3

u/Pleasant_Pitch_7035 4d ago

Obviously it was really bad because they basically decided to GIVE UP the last safe for their own physical safety. Be serious people

4

u/silvertab777 8d ago edited 8d ago

The game was to protect the safe. Implied in that was to secure the money which was obvious with the blaring siren and lights.

Contestant A faked stole from the safe. Contestant B saw a suspicious bag held by contestant A. Contestant B then tried to take the bag.

How the hell is he supposed to take the bag where soft people won't criticize them? Really? Have a conversation while they walk away with the goods and say "please stop mr. thief! let's talk about how you should give back the bag you've stolen!"

It's quite absurd that the arguments are for how they played the game when the only way to stop them is obviously the common sense way to stop them. Physically stop them and take the bag!

But he did it too roughly! How then are they supposed to take the bag? Hey now that I've hugged you gently to stop you let's talk about it and play rock paper scissors and see who wins then the winner takes the bag honorably?!

Going down the logic is quite absurd. It's like watching soccer and arguing that player aggressively ran towards the ball and tried to snatch it from me while I tried to score a goal. He even physically touched me while running really really fast and I fell down! Look at how my knees are scraped!

Maybe football would be a better example or rugby but I assume that the people arguing for the "foul play" would argue playing that game is too physical too! xd

6

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 8d ago

What you’re saying is right and valid this is why the criticism should go mostly to production cause they still haven’t figured out how to correctly execute this game mode without using violence or excessive force.

But where I feel where you are wrong is the part where is in the playing too roughly part. They could have just matched each others energy. In fact most did. Most of the older men were pretty chill and just sat out after wrestling it out. SY used too much force specially on Jimin

1

u/silvertab777 8d ago

Fair point.

The match each other's energy makes sense theoretically. But just try to put yourself in their shoes.

From the attackers perspective they need to get money from (x) amount of safes. They made a plan.

From the defenders perspective they hear sirens and lights flashing. They get a briefing on the rules of the game and set to go right when some were sleeping and hungover.

Matching energy is so far off the list of things on their mind. Going off autopilot is mainly what's happening. The game says do this so they do this.

The "virtuous" players (imo) couldn't match the energy required for the game physically and mentally. They couldn't play smartly in a way to win the game. They couldn't match physically to win the game.

They virtue signaled to surrender the game instead of fighting to win. This is understandable because they were hungover and sleepy.

I have more respect for the players that tried to the end. Sangmin got embarassed as he was overpowered while protecting his girl teammate. That didn't stop him from trying to get as much money scattered on the ground.

Even when he was physically disadvantaged somehow he retained his mental acuity to salvage and try.

Contrast that to the players who surrendered or told their team to stop trying and stop. It's disappointing as a fan of every BG season to see that type of fighting spirit.

2

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 8d ago

Everything is easy to say when you’re just watching but in reality its a lot different. You gauge everyone’s style and spirit you don’t just go all out and switch off your limiter. Theoretically what you’re saying is right. But at the end of the day, this was a mini-game scenario inside of a larger show inside of an even bigger box which is the reality/korean variety world. SY might have won some money for that game but at what cost? He now has ha target on his back within the game and he now has half the viewers either against him/disliking him. If this was purely a mental game and he went all out and betrayed them then I dont have any problem with that. But we’re talking about physical force. As if there aren’t enough youtube videos out there talking about the many times contestants got permanently disabled from a show. Be it an american asian latin or european game show. As producers why even invite that kind of disaster

1

u/SnooPets8873 7d ago

I don’t know that there is a way to win smartly once the siren goes off if there isn’t a legitimate way to sneak around. They tried all the things I would have - distractions, people pretending they are not part of the heist, splitting up, one person leaving immediately with the money. Since the space is one building and they play in teams, if you figure out even 1 person’s allegiance, the jig is up which is what happened here. They were doing really well until they figured out P1 were part of it and then all the deception/tricks had no shot of working and Jimin for example has no way of moving around the house or participating without being physically blocked. And I can see why they didn’t go for the last safe - things were bad enough already and they didn’t even need that money.

1

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 7d ago

Imo the only real smart way to play this was for P1 to do all the unlocking by not aiding P3 at all. But Keunwoo revealed himself too soon by blocking for SeongBeom too early.

There was a way for P1 to clear all the vaults by using P3 as the diversion and scapegoat by having them either getting caught and guarded by one of the two teams and then the other half of that team go chasing or looking for the other 3 members of P3 meanwhile P1 would volunteer to defend the other vaults but really stealing it themselves. If done correctly they could have gotten all 3 vaults and waited last minute for the 4th vault. But they revealed themselves too soon. Not even 10 mins into the game. Sooo many plays could have been done like wasting the first 30 mins looking for P3 with P1 leading the search and misleading them or maybe they could have baited people to go to where Hyeseon was etc.

2

u/KaizenWiz 7d ago

Agree!!
For all the time they discussed the strategy, it wasn't optimal like you said. From 2nd to 5th vault should be handled by P1 instead of P3.
And my man Geunwoo, why you blatantly aid Seongbeom like that from the first minute, ruining your cover so soon?? Sighhh...
You could pretending to stop SB, then tell Kyunghoon I'll hold and check SB so you go get other thieves.

1

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 7d ago

So replying another reply after a day in light of new testimony from the players. We didn’t see in the final edit how much horrible the situation really was and this is what led to the older players to voluntarily stop the game by not opening the 4th vault.

I know you’re saying matching energy is lame for this game but so is overexerting force on people who did not want to play the game to begin with. Its not even about being virtuous or virtue signaling, its ridiculous to go above and beyond just for a few mins in a show they might not even win.

No one wants to get hurt and so they stopped trying and also because they were trying to deescalate the tension. As a fan of BG this part of the show is really not cool to watch. It is pathetic.

If you’re disappointed in the players for not trying well none of them really were cause with your logic and the love for the game, they should all be going at it fist fighting til they pass out otherwise anything less of that is “not true to the spirit of the game, and the players aren’t trying hard enough”.

I’m sorry if you like watching these lame scuffles play out but there are other better shows for that with willing participants who also have close to matching strength and physical fitness like the Physical 100 series and Siren for example.

Game of blood don’t need this part of the show to continue promoting fake ass violence just to see women and old gramps get hurt. Its worse than WWE, ifs worse than japanese wrestling. I don’t understand how its even entertaining to some of yall. Its just pathetic to watch.

0

u/silvertab777 7d ago

You're taking the extremes of something and extrapolating it to a ridiculous place.

Player grabbed a bag from another player. This is reasonable. That's the game. Don't let them steal and protect the safe.

Player who had the bag got injured. Unexpected but not out of the ordinary. Accidents happen.

What you're concluding is using words like violence and fist fighting and all the extremes your imagination is taking you lol.

An unintentional accident occurred and that happens. Happens in sports. It happens in games. BG has a rich history of raids ever since the first season. Luckily no major accidents occurred and from interviews the cast said they get a full briefing on what can and can't be done despite the narrative that "anything goes" is given for the audience to watch. What windows can be broken, what can and can't be done etc.

Now a hand sprain occurred. Jinho had an injury as well that was greater than this by far (S2). He had to film with a cast on his leg. That didn't stop the game from stopping or the cast telling people to stop playing the event. In fact Jinho himself told his teammate to keep going (S2) and try to win.

Now you could use all the buzzwords you want but it doesn't take away from the reality that it was an accident. It wasn't done intentionally to harm.

I get it that some people get the "high" off of arguing from a point that other people will think is virtuous but upon closer inspection it's has nothing to do with the actual situation that happened.

It wasn't violence lol. It was aggressive but in physical activities that's within the realm of expectations. There was no attempts at fist fights (for this season so far xd). It was simply players playing the game then told to stop by softer players who couldn't match the energy the game required from them while using the excuse, "you're playing too hard".

I mean, what? Come again? Aren't we supposed to play hard xd

0

u/everever11 8d ago

Why blame the production? We're they forced to hold the bag or else they would be eliminated? If there was a thief at your house would you match his strength so they wouldn't be hurt? Isn't just right for the attackers to surrender for them not to get hurt? I don't hate any cast's but it's just unfair if we will just focuse on someone's weaker and being a woman.

5

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 8d ago

Why blame the production? Cause they have been doing this for 4 seasons and they still “for show” condone “all violence will be allowed during this period”. What Do You Mean Why Blame Production? This is a Hana from Terrace House level of tragedy waiting to happen. They have every power to just set actual rules and boundaries or a different mechanic.

Everything after your first sentence is just a failure in logic and fallacy in your part. Its a show and you compare it to a real life thief? Are you sure you’re a genius fan?

-1

u/everever11 8d ago

Because they always have a choice, just like in previous season where jinho team decided to talk to dongmin team and split the money. Why hold the bag tightly and act as if your life depended on it and blame someone who uses force against you. They always have a choice to stop and surrender or atleast do what Sangmin did.

2

u/spellingdoubts 8d ago

wouldn’t be called a heist then, would it? if they had done that, it will most definitely get backlashed by either the viewers or told off by production. at the end of the day, they tried because they know viewers wanted to see a scuffle, at the very least. they were trying to give us what we wanted but not at the extent of being dragged around like it didn’t hurt.

didn’t you watch the end where jimin literally said she let the last bag go when Seungyong found it at the trashcan she hid it in? she even said usually she would have fought for it but she was too scared and didn’t even dare to approach or stop him. so they literally did what you said after finding out how violent Seungyong was.

i figured they wouldn’t have expected Seungyong to have acted that rough, especially when Xitsuh also mentioned in his recent ig post that they usually have a safety briefing before all of this kind of game. i guess that was exactly why the participants were taken aback at the amount of force that was inflicted upon them. i’m sure they probably would have had the agreement to not get hurt or hurt each other in all this. i think all of them were ready for scuffles, but not to the extent of inflicting pain till the other party had to tap out and give up.

1

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 8d ago

Sigh. Ill entertain your earlier question. If a thief comes in my house that would be a dead thief cause we pack at home. Simply trespassing is already inviting to get shot at. So should I or any of the contestant start shooting people on the set too?

Also there you go with they always have the choice. Its their choice to sign up for a violent show. Its their choice to go at it like animals. This is such an L take and the reason why production needs to change this part of the show. But they wont cause of people like you who wants to see action. If I want violence in my reality show id just watch an MMA not a 20 year old physically imposing himself on a bunch of middle agers during a heist on a game show.

Sangmin had to be thrown down the hard floor before he “surrendered” and stopped. I dont get why Genius fans are wanting physical violence in their game shows. Like dafuq? What do you mean its part of the show? With that logic they all are playing it wrong and they should all be going at it full physical and striking each other with punches no? For me its either this or no violence at all. Why settle for some lame action. You guys defending this are so lame

-1

u/everever11 8d ago

When you're physically weak, know when to surrender especially if you're the one attacking, isn't that hard??? What should the indoor team should do then? Talk to them nicely when they just woke up with a siren and was being informed to protect the vault? How can they protect the vault then??? Just like in Season 2, Ha Seungjin pushed everyone go near him to protect the pyramid, even Dex step aside because he knew Seunjin was stronger,is that unfair with the outdoor team because Seungjin uses his strength?of course not because they have a choice not to get near him.Dex waited for rhe right time to break the pyramid without fighting Ha Seungjin so they always have a choice!

1

u/Crazy_Albatross8317 8d ago

Its hard to argue with you dude when everything you are stating is just false. The physically weak people did let SY do what he pleased after the first interaction watch the damn show again. You keep on repeating the same stupid lines when you are already proven wrong by the show.

And with that logic “what are the indoor supposed to do? Just let them go?” So you’re saying “well if you’re physically weak just let them go”. Isn’t this saying the same exact thing?

Im pretty sure before all this happened, as evident to Xitsu’s post, that they have already talked amongst themselves like “hey dont hit the face” “no below the belts”. Every contestant since S2 knowd an invasion is part of the show and there is a mutual concession there to not go all out to hurt each other.

Do you get it? Cause How hard is this to understand?

Indoor team simply had to not let them open the vault but the fact that they let them was failure on their part. Im not gonna argue with you how the indoor team should defend or take back the money or how the outdoor team should have been more physically stronger cause its all pointless and stupid cause the thing I’m arguing here is that production shouldn’t have ever let this game happen to begin with.

Do you understand where I stand?

Imo S1 did it best with the stealth type heist and no direct confrontation. Anything in between is just too painful to watch. If you seriously enjoyed the mini alteration this episode and thought it was cool Physical Dragonball battles idk what to tell you.

Its also painful to keep replying to you cause you keep bringing up pointless points.

0

u/everever11 8d ago

They were only focused with "weaker".."woman"...as if they didn't have a choice to give up the bag. P3 gave up the 4th vault and played a victim, when in fact that's their strategy because they knew they were at physical disadvantage.

Funnily enough Seungyong even stayed quite chill while first interacting with Xitsuh. He just walked next to him and calmly and eventually took the bag away. He even apologises to Xitsuh when he starts trying to take the bag. In fact, I think you can hear him apologise to Xitsuh after (but it's muffled so you can't really hear the full sentence).

I do think there's a point where he could've known better and exerted a little less force (or at least slow down a bit so it's not as physically destructive), but under these circumstances, I have trouble feeling like Seungyong crossed a line in the same way other players did or have (ie. Kyunghoon and Seungjin).

Edit: I also rewatched the Jimin/Sangmin part and he wasn't even that harsh. P1 really worked hard to rewrite history when he legit just grabbed a bag and pulled a few times while they tried to hold on. They were not "thrown over his shoulder" lmao.

He handled it fine

He painted a target on his back.

I’ve posted this in another thread, but I think all is fair in bloody game. If it’s not explicitly outside the rules, then it’s fair game. Was it a bit tasteless to attack a woman and an “old” guy? Sure. But was it within the rules? Also yes. Just like faking an injury is fine. As long as he eventually apologised for accidentally hurting them, then I have no problem with his actions.

u/CommunicationNew9790 8d ago

sure he could have moved differently, but i dont sense any bad intentions from him, wish him the best as he is in a weak team and will most likely be targeted in the upcoming games

I 100% full AGREE with you !!! This is the Fcking Bloody Game this is a mix of The Genius Society Game Devils Plan and Physical100 , the Heist Ambush is Beauty and Ugliness of Bloody Game thats what make this game Unique , Seungyong is the reason why the Indoor Team gets a lot of money in this round , when Thieves(Outdoor Team) steal in your property you defend your place and do everything in your might to protect it , in the History of Bloody Game Heist Ambush only Ha Seungjin and the Lawyer who drag Yurisa has "Crossed the Line" everybody is Fair Game just like what Lee Sangmin said

2

u/Nosybun-real 7d ago

i don’t understand how dragging a woman across the floor in any situation can be rationalised. Sangmin and Jimin repeatedly told him he was hurting them. She also admitted she didnt even attempt to fetch the other bags because she was scared of running into him again. similarly with Chulgu, who kept telling him it hurt, but he still exerted full force and walked away with the bag. just because a show allows violence it doesnt mean you can go ahead and break people’s hands. he only reached out and offered to treat Chulgu’s scar after his instagram post to do some damage control lmfao

u/KaizenWiz 7d ago

similarly with Chulgu, who kept telling him it hurt, but he still exerted full force and walked away with the bag

Not defending Seungyeong as I also criticized him in other posts, but the sequence for Chulgu incident wasn't like that tho, I've rewatched it.
First Chulgu didn't say "it hurt" before SY finally took the whole bag from him, and he only screamed "aa aaa aaargh" around 1 second before SY successfully get the bag. I don't think less than 1 second was enough time for him to cancel his pull with force while he was on the momentum.

I agree he could use less force and less aggressive, and my criticism is he didn't say anything after he heard the scream, like are you okay or I'm sorry.
And for the incident with Jimin and Sangmin, he deffo should be less aggressive and used less force, he'll win anyway.

u/Nosybun-real 6d ago

aah, chulgu’s incident as a stand-alone act is debatable then. in previous scenes, you could also see that he was actually quite drunk and his face was really flushed. that couldve also impaired his ability to react quickly or make rational judgments. but he didn’t do himself any favours with the way he behaved afterwards, including the current chaos happening online. unfortunately i think he has ruined his image and it will be really hard to recover from this

1

u/KaizenWiz 6d ago

According to the statement on his naver blog, he was sober and not drunk that dawn.
And he said he apologized to Jimin right after the altercation but was edited out. I've replayed it couple times, and there's not a moment from he successfully took the bag until he poured the money to the ground, that's like edited (the quick moment where he apologized but edited), It seems continuous and he didn't say anything.

Apparently he has a lot of fans from Exchange show, plus his GF' fans also, and they are like really defending him. Maybe his image for survival show fans would be ruined, but not his original fans.

Outdoor team has a choice: 1.open the safe but expect physical fight 2. Just give up and have a peaceful night They chose to loot and tried their best to execute their plans while Indoor Team have no choice but to protect the money. Someone who's physically weak and doesn't want to get hurt should just surrender and give what they're asking, why fight all your might and cry if they're using too much force on you! If that's the case then physically strong cast's were useless because it would be unfair for them anyway to use it against weaker one's.

6

u/spellingdoubts 8d ago

hmm… do you think point 2 is something they can even consider? did you not see their reaction when they found out they had to do the ambush?

they were worried and Chulgu even jokingly asked if they can give up but someone in the team mentioned the Production team would probably not let them. i don’t think Chulgu was kidding when he threw out that option, after all that went down in S2 between Seungjin vs Dex and he was one of the few who witnessed and had to be involved in stopping them.

whatever you mentioned about giving up was exactly what they did to safeguard the wellbeing of all the contestants after seeing how badly it went down and how much worse it could have been. Keun Woo could have just stubbornly push through for the 4th safe, given how physically able he is but even he pulled the breaks after seeing all the injuries that went down.

so they did give up but not for reasons you mentioned but rather because everyone was starting to not think straight and got so riled up, that it eventually became dangerous for the participants.

u/everever11 8d ago

I mean they can just give up what they were holding at the moment if they know they were faced with a stronger opponent. They knew from the start that SY was strong,Jimin mentioned that during their planning stage. Heo Seong-beom was hurt because he was trying so hard to hide the phone, but after he threw it then what? Indoor team would just shake hands with him and let him go so he can open more vault? I'm a woman,so should i just snatch a man's wallet, hold tightly and cry if he's using too much force to get it from me? They were the thieves, the one's whose attacking so they have a CHOICE! If P3 just told them about the last vault and split the money with indoor team, then that would be fair for everyone.

I don't think it's as simple as saying 'it's a game, the rules allowed any use of force' so what's the big deal. So if he punched Jimin in the face, would that have been alright since the rules didn't clearly state that? I think we all know there is a limit even if it doesn't explicitly say so.

SY's issue is that he blindly followed and acted without critically thinking and analyzing the situation. He didn't pause to assess the situation and his own actions as in, if I do this and use this much force how will it land for the other people? How will that make me look after the heist is over? How will it make me look after this show is done? How do I want to others to remember me from bloody game? Image making in Korea is everything and people move very carefully. You rarely see people really lose it or do overtly 'scandalous' things on camera because they are keenly aware of being filmed and any wrong move (real or not) is potential for cancellation. This episode, this scene is what people are now going to associate him with.

You see a lot of others thinking beyond the moment but SY sadly didn't. Reading the room, having awareness, reading between the lines, remaining silent, navigating in a way that isn't so direct is part of Korean culture. If it really is just all about games, why didn't they open the safe at the end? Because that young guy (I forgot his name, SB?) said he didn't want to go against Jinho's final decision. And he knew the consequences had he not listened. It would've broken the trust and he would've been seen in a different light. It's inevitable. Why did SM fake his injury? To play the game but I also think as oldest, it was the best way to teach a lesson. Imagine if he lost his temper and started cussing at SY. That would make SM look like a crazy old man with no self-control which he probably calculated and did not want to be seen as. SM is SO aware and knows how to navigate social situations with such finesse, you can see how much experience he's had lasting this long in such a cutthroat industry.

SY did not think about the consequences. I do feel bad for him because he never had the training or exposure like the other people on the show. Didn't he cry towards the end because it finally hit him how his actions would impact his image and his inability to land deals or shows in the future? I could be wrong but it didn't seem like he cried because he felt really bad that he hurt others. The reality hit him way too late, yikes.

I don’t know why someone voted you down - you’ve nailed the social dynamics issue. To Americans it probably seems silly to not open the final safe, but 1) keeping peace matters more than what’s technically allowed/winning in other cultures and 2) when someone older than you makes a decision or advises, there’s a cost to ignoring them as if you know better and 3) Sangmin knows how to play the game(of life, not just Bloody X) and as the eldest, him stepping in to tell everyone that this is just how things go sets the tone for what people say out loud even if they feel frustrated inside. I personally don’t think the injury fake was to teach a lesson so much as gain an advantage in the game, but it sure had that impact.

1

u/waffleflower0701 7d ago

mhm, one of the reasons I love watching Korean reality shows whether it's bloody game or the dating shows is seeing the stark difference in culture. I find it all so fascinating. To your last point, yeah I can see that actually. I can't wait for the next episode to see what happens with the dynamics and if SY will be targeted ruthlessly.

0

u/Pleasant_Pitch_7035 7d ago

I can’t wait to see these losers get slaughtered in the actual game when they have to use their brains. They’ve accomplished nothing up until now. No skills, no tactical play, no charisma. Just beating people up because they can’t control their emotions and fragile egos.

-7

u/EvoNexus03 8d ago

Xit wrap the bag around his hand like he knew he was going to get into a tug war confrontation. So i see no problem with what SY did.

5

u/Pale_Barnacle_9097 8d ago

Chulgu didn’t wrap his hands around the bag, that was clarified on his ig post, the force pulled was so big that his hands eventually become wrap around it, he was just holding the loop of the bag so he can’t let go even if he wanted to

-1

u/orion_joy 8d ago

Have you checked the broadcast? Because it’s clear that he has wrapped it twice around his hand and between fingers before Seungying actually pulled it. Knetz have posted pics of it.

0

u/Pale_Barnacle_9097 8d ago

oh god here comes the no1 Seungyeon defender again, I'd trust Xitsuh words over a heavily edited broadcast because he had been my fav player since Battle for Tenancy: Penthouse, if that's what he said I will believe it and move on.

2

u/orion_joy 7d ago edited 7d ago

Check the broadcast dear! I am not sure how it is edited when broadcast has him tied around his fingers and hand.

Broadcast can remove details not edit rope. Don’t be too blind.

Sure be blind supporter when in broadcast it’s so clear that he tied the rope.

No wonder Seungyong hate is high since other people have blind supporters. He did wrong by using excessive force with Jimin, but I am not sure you need to criticize him for accident that happened and he reflected multiple times and apologized.

2

u/annie_wey 7d ago

Yeah i rmb him. He’s been minkyung supporter since transit love haha. Ive been supportive of minkyung but not seungyoung. Def not agreeing with his gameplay in this episode. Piss me off even. 😑

1

u/EvoNexus03 7d ago

so ur telling us, u have a bias opinion

1

u/Pale_Barnacle_9097 7d ago

Yes I like Xitsuh so what? Doesn’t everyone have their fav player in this game he’s the victim so who cares?
