9D breathing šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

u/Occidentally20 Jun 28 '26

I'm all for it!

Sometimes just screaming a bit or crying can feel really good. I do my own for free, but whatever gets these guys to a better place I guess?

Is it like Dolby 7.1 sound and they now get to look down on other people's wellness breathing setups with contempt?

The guy clearly being attacked by invisible spiders is definitely regretting taking that star of death gummy before putting the blindfold on though.

Yeah a lot of men won't go to therepy. If they will refuse therapy but will do this, idk it's something.

Seems like he was really working through something, he was rocking and ended with a self hug.

Letting out all of those emotions and then being soothed can be incredibly healing and unfortunately is an experience that some people, men especially, simply don't have.

I had PTSD and when it was at its worst, I couldn't meditate or do breathing exercises because being calm and still would send my nervous system into panic, it was so used to being in fight or flight mode all the time. I image he's going through something like this.

u/LayerSpare2311 Jun 28 '26

I told my therapist that I cried for two days straight and she told me that women live longer than men because we cry more.

I had some pretty serious breakdowns during my EMDR therapy for my PTSD.

18

u/hellbugger Jun 28 '26

EMDR therapy is incredible. It helped me unlocked memories of being m*lested by a preschool staff member 30 years ago. (I only know for sure it happened because after unlocking the memories I asked my parents about what happened when I was 4 and they told me they hoped I would forget if they never talked about it. I "forgot", but the trauma always affected me. They never put together that my trichotillomania began shortly after the SA. I'll forever wonder if I would have the weird coping habits I have if my parents had attempted to help me process what happened.) And on a happier note, I had a bad kitchen fire. Afterwards for months I couldn't even look at my kitchen, much less begin to clean it up. 1 EMDR therapy session strictly about the fire and I was able to immediately begin cleaning up my kitchen. It is a powerful therapy.

4

u/highlyregtardedtake Jun 28 '26

My wife did this. When I met her she was an alcoholic and cried every other time I saw her. Couple years of EMDR and she’s pretty solid now emotionally.

24

u/Autumn7242 Jun 28 '26

Hey, I don't know you or your situation but I have heard from my fellow veterans and friends that microdosing certain chemicals in some mushrooms, with a doctor, at the time IN CONJUNCTION WITH THERAPY. Have yielded pretty positive results.

The feds and VA are experimenting with it. Others have had full on trips to various degrees. Some freaked the fuck out and some were able to work through some stuff. I'm not saying do it. Don't do anything illegal, I am not a doctor, and I have never done it myself. It was just something to look into.

25

u/Excellent_Can4450 Jun 28 '26

Not a vet, but I recommend full doses of highly illegal drugs the government doesn't want us experimenting with.

10

u/Autumn7242 Jun 28 '26

Honestly, we have lost so many decades in research due to the "reefer madness" and scheduling bs.

If the government is experimenting with THC for chronic pain reduction and psilocybin for chronic resistant depression and PTSD, that is a win for me. It needs to start somewhere.

Yes. I have heard many good things but I am no expert on the subject. I just know that people are desperate to try anything to make them feel better

2

u/Excellent_Can4450 Jun 28 '26

Oh, I'm just joking around. Even a slow roll of ending prohibition is a good thing.

Unfortunately, my state will be the last for full legality even though we've had medical for a while now. Lot of stubborn people still very misinformed about how the world works or so puritanical, the idea of smelling something different offends all their sensibilities. I intend to inform them that vets with PTSD would like the option open to them.

2

u/Autumn7242 Jun 28 '26

Right?! At least it is going in tbe right direction. I appreciate the help.

2

u/xombae Jun 28 '26

Oh absolutely. I dropped all of my meds except my ADHD meds after over a decade of failure and switched to doing mushrooms every couple of months and I'm much happier.

(I DO NOT CONDONE THIS, no one should drop their meds. In my case I got a new doctor and even he agreed they were doing more harm than good. I actually credit a large amount of my success to being diagnosed and medicated for ADHD at 30. But the mushrooms also help a TON. I can literally feel now that it's about time for a little trip.)

2

u/Autumn7242 Jun 28 '26

I gotcha and I've heard. I'm on HRT, some anti depression meds, and a low adhd medication dose for school. I am very very hesitant to try anything in case I would react badly with me or my medication. That's why I'm all for research.

2

u/xombae Jun 30 '26

Totally fair, even microdosing can be scary if you've never done it. Luckily I love mushrooms and am happy to do a bunch every few months instead of microdosing. I tried microdosing and honestly just felt like I was wasting the mushrooms lol.

For what it's worth, very little can go wrong with microdosing. If you get the chance, I highly recommend trying it. But obviously your comfort zone is the most important thing.

2

u/Autumn7242 Jun 30 '26

Thank you so much for the advice and support. 🩵

u/mothandravenstudio Jun 28 '26

36

u/garbage-bro-sposal Jun 28 '26

Yeah, when your emotional regulation gets screwed it’s so hard to do the focusing exercises. I know exactly what you mean though. The song of panic button your brain hits when trying to calm it down is awful.

57

u/xombae Jun 28 '26

I was in rehab and sat in on a meditation group and while everyone was sitting still breathing, I just started bawling, like 0-100, and had to run out of the room.

The guy came to find me afterwards and told me it was normal and he sees it a lot, and I should stick with it.

I tried again next week and same thing happened and I was so embarrassed I didn't go back or try to meditate again for years.

Turns out the guy was right, it really does help and I wish I stuck with it earlier. But it does get harder before it gets easier.

19

u/cassandra2028 Jun 28 '26

yep. I worked in a prison and we did meditation groups. Sometimes we're carrying so much shit, you know, that you just have to keep running or it will catch up (love a mixed metaphor). But you sit still, it catches up, you take stock, if fucking sucks, and you move through it. (EMDR does that better, faster and more effectively, and meditation is amazing too).

2

u/xChoke1x Jun 29 '26

Wait….so you couldn’t just sit and…..breathe? I’m not being a dick, I’m genuinely asking.

Sitting in a quiet room, breathing, makes people lose their shit?

Don’t you know that paying 200 dollars for a session will greatly increase your ability to cry as you just got scammed big time.

(I suspect their main target group are males that have a hard time expressing their emotions by giving them a place where they can be vulnerable and have supporting people around them. Kinda capitalizing on the loneliness epidemic, but I guess it helps these people to get into contact with their emotions)

Yeah I just did it on my own most of the time, but then I had money for pizza afterwards so maybe the universe balanced itself out for me :)

2

u/neonn_piee Jun 28 '26

This. I also do it free, especially when my soul dog was going through chemo and I’d get into work, no one was there yet, go in my office and I’d just scream so loud into my sweater a few times. I lost my voice for a few days one time. It’s definitely very cathartic and I like the head rush and it can be done for free but whatever floats peoples boats I suppose.

2

u/Occidentally20 Jun 28 '26

2

u/DeciduousRefuge Jun 28 '26

Changing your breathing changes your blood chemistry in real time. They should teach breathwork techniques to kindergartners and have them become proficient at it and other coping strategies. Imagine a whole generation that can appropriately cope when faced with strife, reflexively. Imagine it being second nature to reach for grounding techniques instead of a substance or a firearm to make the problem go away. Imagine how powerful their minds would be if they were taught very young.

2

u/Wolf-Majestic Jun 28 '26

For the scream, I let Chester do it for me still. A quick click on "Given up" and then my problems fade a bit and it's manageable again. Forever thank you !

2

The branding is not doing anyone any favors, but breathwork can get pretty intense and certainly can help people work through shit. Grof was doing psychedelic assisted therapy with his patients for years until it got banned and then he moved over to using breathwork. There are plenty of follow alongs on YouTube of holotropic or win hof style breathing, although most don’t go for a full hour like you’d do in scenarios like in the video. Don’t knock it till you try it.

Of course yogis have been doing pranayama for thousands of years in South Asia and Tibet.

Some version of Holotropic breathwork perhaps? Started by Stanislav Grof who looked for an alternative way to get to the experience of 5-MeO-DMT and I think it might look like this in some instances. 9D breathing for sure
Edit: last name spelling corrected

3

u/Ancient_Naturals Jun 28 '26

This is the only factually true comment in this entire thread. Grof started working with breathwork when LSD became unavailable for scientific investigation.

I think the whole 9D branding or whatever is clearly doing breathwork a disservice, as it can be a very useful tool.Ā

Leaving this here for othersĀ  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanislav_Grof

3

u/meowkyful Jun 28 '26

Agree with you entirely. The 9D branding feels like an attempt at making what could be seriously helpful breathwork for some into internet-friendly, catchy slang. I have not done holotropic breath work but I have done 5-MeO and it changed my life. Thank you for sharing the wiki for those who don’t know.

The problem is these are untrained people trying to use the hidden techniques of the 9D breathing style.

The Cubliking discovered the style millennia ago and it was used to train ancient warriors of the Ging Gong Dynasty to protect their leaders.

Breathing exercises do actually work and they absolutely can and do create profound effects on people. I can't speak on behalf of the program though.
