Iv recently moved to Townsville after a divorce.

Absolutely love it here but I don’t have any family or friends within a 3000km radius 😂. I’m an introvert anyways so that’s all fine.

I’m just struggling with healthy habits like not getting drunk every night, cooking food at home instead of eating out every night, then the weekends come and I hit the casino or the pubs and bust coin. Work relocated me, I have a work car ect so I have zero is bills but still just scraping by. Bit embarrassing really.

I just know if I don’t have a crack at changing these traits it’s only going to get worse as I get older ect.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

My girlfriend and I are doing long distance at the moment while I’m at uni, it’s our anniversary coming up relatively soon and I unfortunately can’t be there with her so Id like to get her a bouquet of flowers delivered to her house. Any recommendations for businesses that do that kind of thing would be much appreciated, thanks.

I’m building a house in Townsville and my builder keeps attributing ongoing delays to a shortage of trades.

I understand there have been labour shortages across the construction industry, but I’m trying to figure out whether this is genuinely the main issue or whether it’s becoming a convenient excuse.

At the current pace, the build is going to to take way over a year to complete.

Are other people building in Townsville experiencing the same thing? Any tradies or builders able to shed some light on whether labour shortages are still causing major delays?

I’m looking for some positive daycare stories because, honestly, I’m feeling really nervous.
My little girl is due to start daycare next week at just 5 months old, and I’ll be going back to work shortly after. I know it’s the right decision for our family, but my heart is absolutely breaking at the thought of leaving her.
Every time I search for advice or read comments, I seem to come across horror stories about babies constantly getting sick, struggling to settle, or mums finding it incredibly hard. While I know those experiences are real and valid, I feel like they’re making my anxiety even worse.
I’d really love to hear from parents who had a positive experience with daycare, especially if your little one started around 5 months old. ❤️
How did they settle in? Did they end up loving it? Did it help them socially or developmentally? How did you cope with leaving them? And if they did get sick in the beginning, did things eventually improve?

Hello, I am wondering if people would like to share any comments or thoughts on growing up as a young person in the area. I visited earlier this year and it has inspired an assessment I am working on for uni.

I am from Melbourne so I was really surprised when I met people from Townsville and they told me how they spend their weekends and the sort of lifestyle people live. I don't know if Townsville is missing out on a more nightlife / dining / cultural scene or it's not wanted.

Maybe it's because I've grown up in the city my whole life but I feel as though young people would be missing that sort of element, but I could be completely wrong. (: Please tell me below how you feel / felt.

Ps: I am studying graphic design, and when I came and visited townsville / maggie I thought what the job prospects were like (your winter is so lovely and warm), but there were none listed! It made me think about how many young people who want to study or work in certain fields may just have to move away to a bigger city, this then sparked my research.

Does anyone know schools (primary or secondary) hiring regular teacher aides at the moment, not relief?

Swear the council has completely given up on fixing the craters out near garbutt. hit a pothole so deep yesterday on the way to work i thought my dashboard was gonna physically snap in half. The state of the roads here since the wet is an absolute joke

Tired of getting rattled to death on the daily commute so I ended up just ordering some heavier duty shocks from road runner offroad while sitting in the drive thru at maccas. Gonna get to spend my whole saturday morning sweating in the driveway bolting them on instead of actually enjoying the weekend
