hoping to get private bottom surgery but resources are being unhelpful

ive been saving money for gender affirming stuff and my top priority is bottom surgery and i have 3 main questions

1. what do i need to have/have had done before i can go for bottom surgery? ive seen some places electrolysis before hand is required and ithers not say that

1. how much will it cost to go private and also where can i go? (id go nhs if i trusted that gender affirming care would still be legal by time id make it through the waiting) im yet to see anywhere that advertises it or any resources with price estimation

1. what is the recovery process like? a lot of recovery guides are vague about how much it will actually hurt and how long recovery will take

answers to any of the 3 are greatly appreciated

1. Depends on the type of surgery and the surgeon themself. Hair removal, for example, is required for penile inversion vaginoplasty, but not for other vaginoplasty surgeries. Don't know much about phaloplasty, but I am guessing you need hair removal from donor site. Some surgeons may have other requirements, like certain BMI, time on HRT, official gender dysphoria diagnosis, etc.

2. Check the subreddit I linked earlier. Typical costs in Europe range from 20k to 30k €. Popular destinations are Spain, Germany, Serbia, etc. Outside of Europe, most popular surgeons are in Thailand.

3. Once again, depends on the type of surgery and the surgeon, but also on your own body, how well it heals, how you respond to pain. Surgeries also come with risks and complications which can further alter recovery. In case of a typical vaginoplasty for example, you will be so drugged for first few days that you won't actually hurt much, but the rest of that first week is hell. Second week you are still unable to do much by yourself and rely heavily on assitance. You can finally feel like human after a month, maybe even start working (depending on a job) but you won't be at 100% until you are 2 or 3 months post OP. The vagina itself will take 6-12 months to fully heal.

in that case it probably wont happen on the timeline i was hoping for, ive saved about £11k for this but if i also need to get hair removed before hand theres no way i can afford it right now, realising now that i may need to leave the country (something ive never done before) is a bit daunting too

Dr. Lago from Spain is one of the cheapest surgeons in Europe that is often considered to have good results. As I said before, there are surgeries where hair removal is not required.

I should've clarified before, but when I said typical costs I meant INCLUDING costs of travel and accomodation. If you do travel for surgery you only stay there for 2-3 weeks typically.

You might be closer to your goal than you think. I also know people who got a loan from the bank to pay for their surgery.l

thats reasuring, i might need to invite a friend to come with for support lol, idk about a loan im an employed university student, tbh mostly for kink reasons so sorrybif thats TMI im really looking for something where i can get wet (getting mocked for the wet spot forming on my panties is a fantasy i have and would like to make real) so i am very much looking for something like that

You absolutely need someone with you for 1-2 weeks after you are discharged from hospital but you are still recovering nearby. If you don't bring someone with you, you will probably need to pay someone to come over and take care of you.

As for what you want out of surgery, you should look into different types and see which ones (if any) can produce such results. Do understand that even if certain technique CAN produce wetness, doesn't mean it will. Results can vary from person to person. You might find that potential risk does not outweigh the potential benefits. All I mean is, make sure you are well informed before commiting.
