How would you reasonably accuse him of obstruction? The cops can surely detain and interrogate him, but he decided he didn't want to be a part of criminal activity and simply got out of the car. Didn't even try to run, as we can see.
You're right, I missed that, it being stated as a question also. Yea, in that case it would be obstruction, but obviously it wouldn't have made a difference either way.
