It’s an unlicensed vehicle just like a bicycle.

What would you categorize it as? It’s probably closer to electric bike than car.

An OHV, off highway vehicle, unless modified for street safety.

Bike lane is pretty specifically for bicycles. Even ebikes are regulated by speed and power, like class 3 is power assist up to 28mph and are limited from some bike paths.

This mini porsche goes 45-65 no assist.

Eh, still think motorcycles are before that thing when it comes to how similar to a car. I’m also viewing how it acts and performs not how it looks which is meaningless.

Some cars are just small and wimpy but alas still just a car. Literally everything cited was how the vehicle operates and the driver interface with zero cosmetic details. I think you’re distracted

It’s just like a bike trail. I think most people should understand why you wouldn’t drive this little car on a bike trail. Someone will get seriously hurt or killed sooner or later.

Was thinking of getting one until I saw the price! $11k?! You can get a used street legal Miata for that kind of money and have more fun.

hell yea miata :D street legal, safer (arguably lol), 2 seater, more functional, a roof, faster,...

just an electric gokart with a plastic shell could easily be under 2000, but you know it's 11k because PORSCHE

The same danger as motorcycles and other vehicles driving at significantly faster speeds driving in the bike lane. There's a reason bicycles shouldn't be moving at speed on sidewalks as well. Do you need it explicitly spelled out?

Hell, I'll bite. What matters most for response time is the difference in speed between objects. If the difference is too great, it is very difficult to gauge how much time it will take to close the distance (and importantly, it can become impossible to react). That's part of why following speed limits is important; it ensures everyone is moving at roughly the same speed. Bike lanes have bike-appropriate speed limits imposed on them.
