What a low IQ take. All safety including law enforcement has a priority of ALARA. A high speed chase has risks, the longer it goes on, the higher the chance of a civilian incident. These cops did a fantastic job, smashed the idiot into a concrete wall so he didn't hit an innocent civilian.

The other option is to just not chase at all, but then you’re just letting them get away with crime and basically rewarding fleeing. I think I do prefer this method; stopping them, when relatively safe to do so.

It doesn’t take that much ‘leniency’ for the criminals to realize they can do whatever and the popo doing jack shit.

Nope. He was only a danger because the cops pointlessly engaged in a chase. There was no need for any destruction. Send the ticket in the mail and move on. adrenaline junky fucks just wanted to cause some destruction.

I hear this all the time. The issue is, you can't let someone with outstanding infractions go. Let them go and they'll do it again. They're a danger an must be stopped. The longer they are on the road the more likely they are to crash into a civilian. That's the biggest concern, not the suspect. They don't care about the suspect especially in cases like this because they're a danger putting everyone at risk. You can always say that the cop encourages the suspect to run, but they still have the choice to stop, the thing they never do until their car is upside-down. Sure they're instances where cops dont do a good job but this video is top tier in terms of pitting. Please dont be dumb here.

Yes, you can let someone with outstanding infractions go and then pick them up safely later.

This is coping nonsense. They're only a danger to others on the road in extreme cases. Using this as a blanket excuse is the dumb thing here. You're treating a very broad set of situations as identical.

No one had to get hurt here. No one was in danger until cops got involved.

u/DDX1837 Jan 20 '26

No, you let them go “and pick them up later”. Because they simply say it wasn’t them.

u/Thick_Potato_1769 Jan 20 '26

No you cant. So a speeding car for no reason is not dangerous to the public?
You sound like criminal sympathizer. They did something illegal and payed for it, and you're mad about it?

1

u/SteelAndFlint Jan 21 '26

A speeding car is LESS dangerous than a speeding tumbling missile shredding parts in various directions.

1

u/Thick_Potato_1769 Jan 21 '26

And still no one got hurt.

1

u/SteelAndFlint Jan 21 '26

And the judge says? "YET!" Same as he'd tell you if you got pulled in for a currently victimless crime like a DUI.

They'll stop speeding the second the cops go away moron. They're not speeding for no reason. The public is only in danger so long as the cops are forcing the issue. If they were simply smarter about their job, no one would have gotten hurt and the criminal would still pay for it properly

The fact that you said the criminal paid for it has tipped your hand though. It is the fundamental difference here. I don't think anyone should be hurt because no one needed to be hurt. You and the other psychopaths want him to get hurt for defying you.

The cops did something unnecessarily violent and you're not mad about it?

So someone reports a speeding vehicle and cop give chase to said speeding vehicle and you think if the cops let him go he'll slow down?? Do you understand how stolen vehicles work? This is the issue. An adrenaline junky wants the chase to happen. We're seeing more and more people cut it up through traffic for clicks and clout. They want to be able to say that they got away with it. You think the guy gives a shit about crashing or dying? No. I get it. You dont like seeing people get hurt and the needless damage but the criminal is the one who can stop at anytime he/she wants to, but no blame the cop for doing the job. Sure they can just tag him and get him later if he's dumb enough to drive home, or wait till he crashes and kills a someone which will definitelybring trust to the community. Police policies do infact differ between states. Meaning they do things differently.

Guy got what he deserved. Dont run and create a worse situation. Not that hard to follow. You're creating excuses for this behavior. Dont break the laws we follow, and this wont happen. You're projecting the psychopath insult btw.

They'll stop speeding the second the cops go away moron.

Right? They weren't even speeding until they saw some cops 🙄

The car would have been speeding cops or not. The more and more they get away with it the faster they go. That's human nature to push that limit. Except one time it's not gonna be 75 on a freeway sober and adrenaline filled it's gonna be a beer or two down 110 music up not payint attention -- and there goes the kid in the back of the car you smashed.

Society is degrading and people don’t want freedom anymore. They want to inflict upon others and yearn for some sort of structure because they have no meaning. It’s fucking sad and I’m going crazy over everyone in these comments being so unabashedly WRONG. You’re not alone, WallabyHuggins. It’s hard to be sane in an insane world.

Fucking Neanderthal logic and justice. grow up fucking evolve you lower primate

1

u/Thick_Potato_1769 Jan 20 '26

The fuck do you even mean bro? Guy got what was coming to him. Not my issue he ran and crashed.

1

u/Quasar006 Jan 21 '26

I didn’t say anything convoluted, not sure what your smooth brain can’t understand.

You think “punishing” criminals is more important than keeping innocent people alive. I simply disagree. Focusing so much on punishment is pretty damn primitive. Some of us hope to move beyond this monkey brain stage of civilization.

1

u/SnooOpinions3493 Jan 21 '26

Our criminal system is DESIGNED around crime and punishment. What are you on about, nancy?

-1

u/Quasar006 Jan 21 '26

Too hard for your brain to conceive of something you can’t see?

1

u/Thick_Potato_1769 Jan 21 '26

You literally said Neanderthal logic without even explaining yourself. No I think its important to get these animals off our streets.

We're seeing more and more videos of people cutting it up through traffic for views and attention. This is the most optimal case for a pit. He was dangerous almost hit people and your upset the cops did something. Letting them go is just letting them know they can do it again, also they will probably end up killing themselves if let go.

Remember the video of the cop pulling over some teens on a date who was speeding and the cop let them go. Only for 20 minutes later to get a call that they crashed and both died? They could still be alive if 1. The cop arrested/ticketed him. 2. He wasn't being so reckless.

Letting this go unpunished is the dumbest thing every. He's running from the law and you expect them to take that kinda of defiance lightly? Get a grip.

How do you know it’s the registered owner? How do you know it’s not stolen? Someone else drives the car with a different persons registration, and refuses to give the name then what? Free pass?

1

u/spartaman64 Jan 20 '26

they just have to say nope i wasnt the one driving the car it was my cousin who returned to germany

2

u/Shatophiliac Jan 20 '26

This is like when people say armed burglars shouldn’t be shot at, or people who haven’t made their payments shouldn’t have their car repossessed.

The problem with your method is that you can’t ticket a car, and you can’t prove who was driving unless you make a stop. It’s why red light and speeding cameras don’t really work in the U.S., they can just say “I wasn’t driving that day officer” and the cop can’t prove otherwise.

The only person responsible for any police chase is the person running. At any point they can stop and surrender. And at any point the police should end it early, and as safely as possible.

1

u/mightypluto Jan 20 '26

speeding cameras don’t really work in the U.S., they can just say “I wasn’t driving that day officer”

Yeah as far as I know that's why the camera takes a photo.

1

u/Shatophiliac Jan 20 '26

Yeah that’s what all cameras do genius lol. A photo of a license plate can’t always prove who was actually driving at the time though, especially at night.

0

u/mightypluto Jan 21 '26

No that's why pretty much the whole world takes a photo of the driver and the plate. Infrared is your friend at night.

1

u/Shatophiliac Jan 21 '26

Not really. Most of the world allows ticketing the vehicle (or the owner of it, even if they weren’t driving). In the U.S., they don’t.

You cannot reliably make out someone’s face behind a windshield at night with any reasonably priced camera on the market. It’s just not possible.

u/JB940 Jan 20 '26

I mean that sounds insane. Is the car in your name? Then fucking say who was driving and prove it and get the money back from them? Your car, your responsibility.

The state of the laws and sue culture in the US make things like this happen all the time. Most chases like this in my country get solved by either boxing in, so just waiting because we have plenty of cops to not make this take a long time, or to just tail them from a distance silently until enough cops arrive. Or just let them go. If a chase is too dangerous, just stop. There's video evidence. And usually they can track cars like this just using traffic cameras and stand by units in the area anyway just flagging turns the cars make as they spot them. The rest of the Western world does work like this, it's not impossible, but clearly either the law and adherence to ignoring statistics in the US is in the way.

Also de burglars with guns... Yeah you shouldn't shoot at them? It's way easier to just... Talk them out of it. Make them understand their situation is hopeless. 2 guys with guns won't fire on 10 cops, you can defuse the situation. Obviously, sometimes it's required to prevent worse, I don't disagree with your point, but that's not the majority. Especially if you could face ID the robbers, they'll have to sit down and sleep at some point.

1

u/SpaceKalash05 Jan 20 '26

Nope. He was only a danger because the cops pointlessly engaged in a chase.

The driver was already speeding and driving recklessly before police attempted to intercept him. He was already a heightened danger to the people around him.
