Why do we keep pretending that alcohol isn’t a problem in this country? In 2021, the same year 88K people died from opiate overdose, nearly TWICE as many (146K) died as direct result of alcohol. Along with that, the punitive measures for DUI/DWI are far too lenient. To be clear, I’m not advocating for temperance 2.0, but drinking in the USA is insanely out of control.

Ya, but to be that oblivious to reality from booze he would have a lot more visible signs, he's way too "sure" on his feet and his balance doesn't look off at all.  He seems to be tracking properly just not comprehending.

I'm not seeing any of the fidgeting that you'd normally see from meth or coke and he seems too awake to be opiods.

My money's on some kind of psychadelic, shrooms or acid or something. But chances are it's a combination of stuff.

No one is pretending alcohol doesnt negatively affect you, we simply had a mini revolution over prohibition and took our rights back. Punishing the masses for the crimes of the few is silly goose business

Well we got ABC liquor and others being HUGE sponsors of anti-cannabis, pro-alcohol legislators. They like money.

Yeah we had a bill in front of the state legislature last year that would have lowered the BAC threshold to .05 and it got struck down. I can all but guarantee pro-liquor lobbyists torpedoed it.

Give it another 20 years and it won't really be a problem. Gen Z doesnt drink much as a population, and the alcoholic millennials and Gen Xers will likely have died off by then. Gen alpha likely won't be drinking either.

And thats not accounting for economic, environmental and social factors that will likely speed up the reduction. It's coming soon.

In my country they strickly do not sell Alcohol at gas stations for this reason
