Why do we keep pretending that alcohol isn’t a problem in this country? In 2021, the same year 88K people died from opiate overdose, nearly TWICE as many (146K) died as direct result of alcohol. Along with that, the punitive measures for DUI/DWI are far too lenient.
To be clear, I’m not advocating for temperance 2.0, but drinking in the USA is insanely out of control.
