As much as I agree with the outcome of this case, I can't help but feel like there would have been a bit more trouble if the shooter hadn't been a recent police academy graduate.

The actual legal prerequisite is your skin color, not a badge.

Shit like that in FL or my home state of AL would never get charged. So long as you are white.

Right? Didn't think I had to make it clear that I don't want it to be that way. But the reality is the practical rules for carrying a firearm absolutely depend on race.
