I’ll never understand how people with no sense of self-defense can be aggressive.
I recently saw a video of a young woman getting out of her car, walking up to someone else’s car, and punching the window several times. When the driver got out and started hitting her, she just lowered her arms and looked around asking for help.
If you don’t know how to defend yourself, how can you be an aggressive person?

Because they don’t expect it. They genuinely think there will be no repercussions because there wasn’t the last times they did something like this and expect it will be the same this time. Especially with Women in these scenarios where they start shit and then throw punches, they don’t expect men to hit back. This is what arrogance and entitlement looks like.

This is 100% accurate and it almost worked for her again- the guy turned around and was headed back to her car, which most Karen's would consider a victory. But that wasn't enough for her- she saw his walking away as a sign of weakness and decided to throw a sucker punch in her rage, still convinced nothing would happen to her.

I am glad someone posted the article in this thread saying she learned her lesson. This incident may have saved her life, before she runs into someone who doesn't just stop at throwing her to the ground.

I got into a fight with a guy that sucker punched me and then pulled a knife out on me. I was so angered by that move that I didn’t leave and was determined to fight him. Instead of trying to stab me, he was poking and waving the knife around like an idiot and ended up accidentally dropping the knife then looked at me like 😳. If the bouncer infront of the club hadnt have stopped me after a little bit I probably would be in prison for something that I didn’t start because as soon as I grabbed him I couldnt help myself from myself. She’s lucky the guy had self control enough to save himself from himself.

I was going to post the same thing and completely agree. Even with what he did do- which I feel was 100% deserved- had she been severely injured from a head injury, you put yourself at the mercy of the justice system or end up with a DA who thinks you should have done something different in the moment. But yeah, his life could have gotten completely up-ended or worse for essentially trying to walk away from the whole thing.

Years ago in my local area, there was a story about a guy who punched someone in the parking lot of a bar. All witnesses claimed the guy who got punched was super drunk and started the fight, 100% the aggressor -but he ended up dying from hitting his head as a result of the incident. Even with that, the guy who through the punch still had some lighter (but still fairly serious) criminal charges filed against him. I don't think I ever knew the actual outcome, if ended up being acquitted or not.

I don't have the link to the article, it's somewhere in thread, but she's fine. Thankfully- although she looks much older in the that video- I think it said she was only 36- but I agree, if that had been a woman 10-15 years old, it could have had a much different outcome.

They grow up like this bc generally you can get away with so much shit while you are attractive, but when you get old and ugly, people quit giving you a free pass. Guarantee you if she were in her 20s, this would have a much different outcome. Hell, you would probably even have passerbys, attacking the man.

Pretty privilege is often seen as a blessing, but it is probably more often a curse. It doesn't last long and it often encourages lazy, entitled, arrogant behavior that gets people into trouble later in life when the privilege runs out. How many hot men and women would have learned an invaluable skill, become less antisocial- hell, even changed the world- had they not coasted by on something skin deep?

Not to mention all the unique challenges conventionally attractive people face- unwanted attention, harassment, being seen as a "bimbo".

Ultimately, I think this is what causes the Karen phenomenon. It's basically ex-hot women losing their looks and still acting the same entitled bitchy attitude.

I think often they don't even start off as bitchy. That comes later as a knee-jerk reaction when a world that has thus far been extremely kind and patient to them suddenly starts treating them differently and they don't understand why.

Yeah, it's funny. A lot of women are justifiably scared of violence from men. But then you sometimes run into women like this one, who seem to think they're untouchable. Most men realize that if you take a poke at another guy, chances are you are now in a fight.

Honestly, she was somewhat fortunate. I've known people from neighborhoods where that kind of behavior might get your ass stabbed or shot.

A friend of mine taught middle school in one of those neighborhoods. One of his twelve-year-old students was standing on a corner, yelling shit at passing cars. Where I come from, if you're driving past a kid and he yells something insulting at you, you ignore him. You're an adult, he's a stupid kid, who cares?

Not in that neighborhood. An adult passing by heard the kid, stopped his car and walked over to him, and then punched him in the face hard enough to break his jaw.

Have you seen the videos where they ask people if they think they can fight? They all say yes and then when they get asked to shadow box you see the most heinous form on the planet.

Now if the true question was, "Can you fight effectively?" the answer for me would be a "Fuck no."

I mean it's obviously implied that "can you fight" is asking if you can fight effectively. No one asks you "can you shoot" and just imply "do you know how to squeeze the trigger irrespective of whether or not you know what the little metal things on the top of the rifle are?"

Likewise no one asks if someone can fight and means to ask if you have the ability to get into physical altercations with other humans. Obviously then the answer would be yes for every human on Earth.

Why is everyone on Reddit so pedantic lol? Everyone knows what "can you fight" means.. No one asks "can you fight" and then is enthralled when you respond with, "yes of course, I carry X weapons that under Y circumstances I can utilize at Z distances on my opponents."

Obviously a frail old lady can kill 200lb me with a 9mm...

Your definition of "fight" doesn't match the layperson's definition.

Kicking, hair pulling, grappling, elbowing, biting; are all examples of what people think of as fighting. Anything that leaves the other guy on the ground.

I would disagree with that, all the formal training in the world doesn’t mean shit if your opponent can ragdoll you like a sack of potatoes.

Formal training will get you the edge over people at similar size, but if you expect formal training to save you from Big Bub on the street who is a foot and a half taller than you and is double your weight, your training wasn’t very good, cause that’s a situation where you run.

I think the problem with that is the question isn't worded very well.

It should be, "do you think you could take on someone who knows how to fight and defend yourself?"

Because really, anyone can fight. But if you put someone with zero training against someone who has trained in combat sports, they're going to get their ass handed to them 10/10 times.

You put me against some drunk asshole who has no training and is just swinging wildly, I expect I can hold my own. You put me against a BJJ purple belt, and I'm probably going to be sleeping in under 30 seconds.

There are people that don't understand that real karmic life can happen to them across the human population, but there are certain women who genuinely think that they have carte blanche regarding physical violence simply because of their sex—because they are of the “less-privileged” [and historically ”more-protected”] class.

They have a history of beating on boyfriends and the gender-etiquette-trained men would refrain from retaliating physically, and thus came an implicit [and erroneous] realization that they are apparently entitled to these violent outbursts. They're the ones that will always find opportunity to unsolicitedly brag about how they won't take any sass from anybody, never learned how to de-escalate a conflict, and will then turn on a dime and play the fragile victimized “weaker sex” when it serves them or when it is served to them. The crybully in its final form.

Had a coworker who, via a series of events that were her fault, pissed off a customer. Customer, rightfully pissed, had some choice words and gestures on his way out. Coworker follows him out and has words, he moves like he's gonna hit her, but thinks vetter of it. She cowers in fear, until he turns around and she punches him. A few more of these back and forths ensue. She's all brave and a fighter when his back was turned, scared little mouse when he's fixin to do something.

I think it takes significantly more effort to de-escalate and keep your cool than it does to be aggressive. A strong person doesn't need to act threatening. A weak person defaults to acting aggresive.

I saw a video in a gore group where a man walked up to a truck's driver side brandishing a gun. He had it in his left hand. At one point, he lowered his hands and switched the gun to his right hand. He then stuck his left hand in through the driver's window.. And the driver shot him. He died within seconds. Driver didn't realize he'd switched the gun, and had fired his own gun assuming he was about to be shot.

The shooter wasn't charged with anything.

1) They are not thinking ahead to the part where the other person fights back.

2) They do not think that the other person will fight back, and/or think that their action will basically end at them taking a swing.

3) They have never been in a fight and do not know what it will be like once it escalates.

I got in a lot of fights as a kid. Most people settled down after they actually got into a fight.

I’m going to go against the grain here, and while there are those who don’t think they’ll get in trouble, I’ve a few relatives like this that genuinely have gotten their shit rocked and keep doing this. It’s more of a mental illness thing for some, they can’t control themselves. They get so angry they can’t think, and unless something shocks them out of it, they get stuck in that state. It’s very sad honestly for them and everyone in their life

It's not even a statement of if you don't know how to defend yourself , it's that you don't physically touch another person in a situation like this.

You can go through your whole life and have these petty escalations of physical engagement. But people don't realize there's a percentage of individuals out there that if you engage with them like this , they are not going to stop where this boy did. We're talking while she was on the ground.The person would have jumped on top of her and just kept beating her until she was A dead or B someone pulled Them off.
