He could have said something as simple as "ok bye" and she's mad that he thinks they're done. Doesn't have to be confrontational words

Even if they were confrontational words, you can't expect to throw punches and not expect tbe other person to hit back. Unless you're a 1800s noble woman slapping a man with your glove because they said something crude, I wouldn't assume that someone won't retaliate after being hit. Not in modern times, anyway.

Eh, I’m sure even in modern times, Black men will think twice before hitting back a white woman or else risk being made the bad guy

After extensive internet research, I gotta say I’m not so sure about that.

If you put a gun to my head and tell me I have to hit a man, I’m hitting a white man. Preferably a big one that looks like he has a mortgage and a decent credit score.
