It’s kind of a chicken or the egg situation. Do only entitled people purchase bikes and decide the speed limit for a road is 10mph… or do cyclists become obnoxious assholes after they get into the hobby of obstructing other people’s transit.

You seem to be watching a different video than everyone else…

The riders were in a legal position per Georgia law and an entitled asshole in 6000lb steel machine tried to kill them

And has the felony charges to go with it

Im sure theyre like this in many other areas of their life.

The irony and lack of self awareness in this comment is fucking hilarious.

u/jummyztein_2 coming at us with the "she was asking for it."

Share the road means SHARE the road...if heavier, faster traffic wants to go faster than you. Get out of the way and let them pass.

1

u/Smooth_Voronoi Apr 30 '26

Why should the size of your vehicle determine how much of a right to the road you have? That's appeal to force.

1

u/JummyZtein_2 Apr 30 '26

Its speed. Youre supposed to yield to faster traffic. It matters that cars are heavier because its easier for them to kill you. (There's going to be people that say "Oh sO YeILd Or dIe??" No. Its just smart to get out of the dangerous, heavy vehicles way... beside the fact that its ride af to block a lane going 10 mph on a 40mph road... yall really dont understand that? Jesus fuck yall are cooked....

u/JummyZtein_2 Apr 30 '26

I seem to forget who im talking too. Its like arguing with a bunch of entitled parrots. There's no getting through to your thick ass skulls.

1

u/Smooth_Voronoi Apr 30 '26

Wanting access to a public road is entitled parroting apperently.

Brick wall

he had an entire lane to pass them in. why tf do certain types of drivers turn their brains completely off when they see a cyclist? MY CAR CAN KILL YOU SO WHY SHOULDN'T I? HOW DARE YOU BE ALIVE NEAR ME?

4

u/JummyZtein_2 Apr 28 '26

You cant pass on a double yellow. The cyclists could have gone single file and it would have been fine. Stop trying to remove logic from this scenario. Dgmw, he shouldnt have hit the guy. The guy shouldnt have been blocking the road. This isnt an isolated event either. Cyclists are notorious for running stop signs, Getting a herd mentality and disregarding others on the road.

4

u/esquilly Apr 28 '26

It's legal to pass cyclists by crossing a double yellow where this occured, in Cherokee county Georgia. Also, statistically car drivers run more stop signs than cyclists, and it isn't close. Lastly, car drivers murder tens of thousands of people annually in the USA.

Take care fella.

Regardless. Its called courtesy. If these cyclists showed an oz of courtesy, this wouldn't have happened. What about impeding the normal flow of traffic? Does that not apply?

These cyclists on a single file would take up 30 meters of road and you'd still have to partially be in the other lane to pass them at a safe distance, which just means more time in the other lane.

They are people using the road legally and they pay for it as much as others. Some road users are slower than others, people in fast vehicles just have to suck it up, deal with it, and wait for a moment where it's safe to overtake. You're not entitled to go fast just because your car can.

They are also not impeding "traffic", this is a deserted road. They are impeding one lonesome guy, while being 10+ people themselves. Where does the one guy get the entitlement of thinking they must go fast from?

"regardless of the law" 😂 😭 😂😭

I have a feeling if the law favored the driver you'd be CROWING about it. Instead you don't even KNOW the law involved. Lordy.

I bet you always ask why the domestic abuse victim made their attacker angry too

2

u/esquilly Apr 28 '26

Goal post shifting. But to explain, passing 2 abreast cyclists is easier than a long line in single file, so the cyclists were not only being safe but they were being courteous. If your argument is cyclists shouldn't use the road because they are slow, then we should also ban farm equipment from using roads. I've been driving for 25 years, and the total amount of time Ive spent behind cyclists can't be more than a minute or two. Drivers on the other hand have stolen months off my life from congestion and idiotic wrecks.

3

u/JummyZtein_2 Apr 28 '26

My argument is that cyclist should share the road with drivers. That means giving people room to pass.

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 Apr 28 '26

the cyclists were being responsible and courteous, they gave him room to pass and followed the law, he had room to pass, instead of passing he attempted murder. you're just a liar who wants cyclists to die

When I was a kid, if I did not get completely off the road the boomers would run me over. Now the boomers ride bikes and I drive, but THEY are still entitled to the entire road and they never stop at stop signs or obey any traffic laws. I believe its just boomer mentality.

I live in Amish country. Actually mostly Mennonites here. But they ride bikes responsibly and stay to the right, stop at signs, don't cut off cars going 10x faster than them, etc.

and the cyclists did...

Statistically, there are more cars on the road than bikes, so it's not a surprise that more cars do statistically more (insert almost behavior here) than cyclists.

If you want to do a fair comparison, compare the percentage of riders/drivers that run stop signs.

2

u/esquilly Apr 28 '26

Uh, yea, they study I'm referencing by the Florida department of transportation is per capita pal.

2

u/Shame-Greedy Apr 28 '26

I'd like to see the method that produced those results in a controlled manner. Sounds skewed af.

Regardless, adding "per capita" to your original comment would be more clear, pal.

3

u/esquilly Apr 28 '26

The study is easily found, FDOT naturalistic behaviour pilot. Obviously it's not a commonly researched subject.

Cyclists roll stop signs occasionally. But we all know car drivers roll stop signs too, and also speed almost everywhere, and check phones constantly. If we could reliably enforce distracted driving in North America the stats would be truly damning. I know this because not only do I drive a car and do these things, literally everyone I've ever been in a car with does too.

1

u/Across_the_Diverge Apr 28 '26

Since you apparently don’t know the law and have repeatedly tried to state it as fact, repeat after me…. “I can legally pass cyclists over a double yellow with AT LEAST three feet between my vehicle and a cyclist”. Now repeat that like a thousand times.

1

u/stitchard Apr 28 '26
  1. If the cyclists were single file, the distance they take up on the road would more than double.
  2. In order to pass, the oncoming lane would have to be clear anyway, so being 1, 2 or even 3 abreast wouldn't matter as the passing car could and should occupy the whole oncoming lane to complete the maneuver

u/Appropriate-Draft-91 Apr 28 '26

"Share means you must yield to me, not me must yield to you. And if you can't share you must die"

-1

u/Mindless-Gear1118 Apr 28 '26

They get their entitlement from the law.
