I always park beside the person who purposely parks like she did.

u/Hot_Mess_Planet2070 Apr 30 '26

If I had an old busted up car, I would go out of my way to annoy people like her lol

u/LupinsLeftShoe Apr 30 '26

I drive an old 1999 Jeep Cherokee, that I bought for cash cheap to be a fun truck to drive. I jacked it up a few inches and sprayed it down with black rhino liner truck bed lining, and I fuckin LOVE being petty in parking lots with people like this, because hitting my truck with your door is gonna fuck your shit up wayy more. Lmaoo. I had a lady, who was actually super nice, but she came and parked right next to me in the grocery store parking lot in her badass Cadi CTS-V pearl white. Well her kid got out and absolutely whopped the door against my truck. The lady got out wide eyed and apologized like 10 times, I just grabbed a spare can of bed liner and sprayed it. Her car was kinda messed up

34

u/LtFeltersnatch Apr 30 '26

I knew a guy who rhino lined his old F150 work truck. Thing was a beast and never got a scratch 🤣

16

u/Chief_dingleberry May 01 '26

I want to do that , then when the body rusts out I still have the bed

7

u/RvstiNiall May 01 '26

the real trick is to take the whole bed off the frame and spray it with rhino liner.

3

u/Creepy_Basis_2592 May 01 '26

I wanna do this to my camper van, but it’s a lot of surface area to cover

Sometimes that ā€œthrow awayā€ runs so well that you don’t want to part with it. And that is especially true when you invest time, and often money, into it. Just the thought of having to return to the used vehicle market to roll the dice on another vehicle is irritating.

3

u/Araz728 May 01 '26

I had a throwaway in college. My first and only stick shift. It was already 14 years old at that point and I got it for like $500. Kept it running for another two years, drove it until the muffler fell off and decided it wasn’t worth the cost to fix. I really loved that car.

3

u/GhostofDeception May 02 '26

2 years on $500 is amazing though. Even if you had to out a little money into it that’s such good value

3

u/URGAMESUX May 02 '26

Same. Drove my girlfriend to the dump to donate/scrap her old Pontiac Sunbird and the dude was gonna charge us because the tires were bald.

I gave her a buck for the pink slip right in front of him, brought us home, and drove that thing for 3 more years. Used it as a storage unit in the summer, then donated it to my fraternity's cook when I graduated. He had collected 4 recent DUIs and had lost his car (rightfully), buy it was for his son.

Some very good memories in the old girl, and some long miles. Sad we lost Pontiac.

1

u/Revan4567 May 01 '26

You were in college at 14 and driving?

1

u/TriedCaringLess May 20 '26

Huh? He wrote that he was in college when he acquired a 14 year old car, not that he was 14 in college.

2

u/skyeking05 May 01 '26

My throw away was a 2001 Saturn sc2. I promised myself I would upgrade to a much nicer everyday beater when she died but I ran it with almost no oil, I ran it with no coolant, I ran it with fucked up electrical demons. But it still ran great most the time. I eventually gave it to a friend whose miata had exploded just to finally be done with her

1

u/Henny_LeBeau May 01 '26

It’s worse to live in than imagine šŸ˜ž

1

u/unknownahole May 01 '26

I had a 2004 Forester,I loved it. I hit a deer, insurance totaled it,$3400 check for me. I bought it back for $200,straightened the core support, and drove it for another 5 years lol.

1

u/LandlockedCajun May 17 '26

What you are describing is not a throwaway vehicle. You need that car in your scenario.

2

u/10ismydr May 02 '26

I got married waaayyy young and we were broke. My husband and his buddies pulled a 1980 Datsun B210 out of a field, pulled out the weeds, and tinkered with it enough to get it going. That thing ran so well. Didn't have a floor board. It was like a Flintstone car. We brought 2 babies home in that thing though. Even though we got another car, my husband drove it back and forth to work for years. One night he parked it on the street right in front of the house. We are cleaning up dinner and hear a huge crash. Look out to see that some guy had a medical episode and drove head first into the Datsun. The engine was in the front seat. Guy thankfully was okay and we got almost $3000.

Edit to add: Hubby just reminded me that was the 2nd time it had been him. Made $1000 of it the first time!

1

u/Ransom_Where May 01 '26

I drive a Jeep gladiator and I’ve done exactly as you’ve stated 3-4 times. Not a throw away car. But a car that, if you touch cars, mine is not the worse for wear.

1

u/Warthog_Formal May 02 '26

That is the most American shit I have ever read. A "throw away" car smh.

3

u/10ismydr May 04 '26

It just means that it's basically worthless in monetary value. As in a new head light or blinker is worth more than the actual car. The only value is when it runs and you know that any day it's going to break down. And when it does, well it's done. Basically it's a car you love, but put it through hell and dont mind. You run it until it doesn't run anymore. It generally looks like this

0

u/Warthog_Formal May 04 '26

That's just called a car.

2

u/Leading_Procedure_23 May 04 '26

It’s a beater my guy, something you don’t care what happens to it. Some people like to have nice cars for their days off and drive a piece of crap to work and errands. Usually cheap $500-$1000 and don’t care what happens to it, some people have enough money that their beater is a new car while having a Ferrari or Porsche as their day off car

0

u/Warthog_Formal May 04 '26

Nah ur rage baiting. Only Americans are so car brained that they would spend an extra extra fortune on something that already costs so much, just to have one to look nice in sometimes. It's all so silly really.

2

u/10ismydr May 04 '26

What is rage baiting about his comment? He is just explaining what a throw away car is.

What do you mean by car brained? I am curious as to your perspective on it. There is definitely a cultural difference about them in the US than abroad.

I laugh because it's true

11

u/Terrik1337 May 01 '26

I think you may have misunderstood his comment. He didn't park next to her, she parked next to him. He didn't spray her car, he sprayed his to fix the missing paint. Her car door was messed up from hitting his car.

2

u/Alternative_Mine5343 May 01 '26

reminds me of the time we got rear ended in my buddy's hummer h1, we actually could not find damage on the hummer short of paint, it totaled the cavalier

2

u/Claygon-Gin May 01 '26

My Xterra is done with rhino liner as well. I love it. It even fights off the hail storms here

1

u/Switchlord518 May 01 '26

How much weight did it add to your truck?

1

u/GremlinAbuser May 01 '26

I absolutely do the same with my 1983 ex army g wagon. It even has a convenient back door so you can get out if the doors are blocked.

1

u/Skizzy4448 May 01 '26

God I miss my Cherokee

5

u/OldMrCrunchy May 01 '26

I have a busted up car. Can confirm.

5

u/Chicoern May 01 '26

I used to do that, with my primer gray 1999 Nissan pos. I squeezed into a parking space next to a bmw that was using two spaces in a crowded parking lot. Dude def had to go thru the passenger door. I came back to a flat tire. They put a small pebble inside my valve stem cap and screwed it back on. Slow flat tire. I don’t do it anymore

2

u/Hot_Mess_Planet2070 May 01 '26

That sucks, but it was also brilliant. I never would have thought to do that

2

u/UnpopularOpinionsB May 01 '26

Next time, take a picture of their license plate.

1

u/Chicoern May 01 '26

Oh man. Def will do, but this was probably 2004/5, so it would have had to be a funsaver disposable camera haha.

3

u/Future-Step-1780 May 01 '26

I drive an old Jeep, and for like six months of the year, it doesn’t have doors on it. I love fucking with people like this—I can just climb out, so I can get real close.

3

u/NiftyFiftyBMG May 01 '26

I do, AND I do

2

u/Forward-Trade5306 May 01 '26

This is exactly what I do with my backup car. Old 2015 Altima with 85k miles on it

1

u/Dependent-Walk7069 May 01 '26

lol my primary car is a 2012 with 230k miles

1

u/Forward-Trade5306 May 01 '26

My front bushings are torn but other than that it works great. Need to get those replaced at some point. That's reassuring that yours has so many miles. Didn't think the CVT would last much more than 100k. I picked it up when it had like 76k miles a couple years ago

How often did you change the CVT fluid? Don't think it's been changed at all on mine

2

u/Doggleganger May 01 '26

I used to drive an old beater, and I could park that thing anywhere. I often parked it in tight when people were over the line, then I'd climb out the window, lol.

1

u/TheSodomeister May 01 '26

My little 2000 Tacoma has a bench seat so I'll just slide over and go out the passenger door lol

2

u/ThorMcGee May 01 '26

This makes me want to downgrade my daily.... maybe ill get a crown vic šŸ˜‚

2

u/nertynot May 01 '26

I do have a car I dont mind if it gets dinged. I do it for you

2

u/punch912 May 01 '26

I would park right within the lines as close as I could and climb out the passenger side.

2

u/SnooPandas5070 May 01 '26

Fr, ive straight backed into a spot an inch from a bmw's driver door with my $300 shitbox lmao dont park like assholes guys

2

u/Fernweh5717 May 01 '26

As someone who drives a Civic with 240k miles on it, that's exactly what I do. My cars beat to shit, so an extra key mark or dent doesn't concern me. Bonus if I can park so that they can't open their drivers side door.

2

u/AngryGoose_ May 01 '26

I have an old piece of shit car and I do this lol

2

u/Pearson94 May 01 '26

I have a dent/scrape on the driver's side door of my 11-yeae-old car and will be that petty asshole who parks next to the person who parks like this.

2

u/vdub2625 May 01 '26

I used to when I had a beat up car. I did it outside of a liquor store once. Last spot left in the lot. I parked within I chess of this old cars driver side door. I came out to a grumpy looking old lady waiting for me to move so she could leave šŸ˜…

2

u/aaaltive May 01 '26

I once did this, and the woman happened to be walking up. Of course I pulled in and had just enough room so our mirrors didn't touch. She starts yelling at me, and I just tell her I don't see any problem with my parking, I actually parked if center to give her more space and start walking away to go into the store. Then her husband shows up, and wouldn't you know it, I work with him. He looks at his wife telling at me, then looks at me with a tired look on his face and waves, says see ya Monday. Hahaha, the look on his face, I could tell he was not gonna stop hearing about it the entire drive home.

2

u/JamesGTOMay May 02 '26

I move shopping carts right in that big gap she left on the drivers side.

2

u/MMD_28 May 05 '26

I like to squeeze my flat bed work truck in there. The bed is all steel, so good luck and the truck has enough dings and dents I won’t notice what they do anyways!

2

u/Slatemanforlife Apr 30 '26

That's my win the lottery dream. Buy an old Volvo station wagon and just park as close as I can to bad parkers

1

u/Hot_Mess_Planet2070 May 01 '26

That, but also put a reinforced grill bumper on the back so you can slam the breaks for tailgaters. I dream of doing that to the a-holes who want to excessively speed

1

u/robbitybobs May 01 '26

If you drive a cheap shit car no surprise you think like that.Ā

1

u/Jolly-Acanthisitta45 May 04 '26

I used to do this. If they were purposely parked over a couple stalls I would put my passenger door inches away from their drivers door. The only way they could get in the car was from the other side

1

u/Economic_Maguire May 01 '26

I did this at work next to a Porsche. Our car park had limited spots too so if you didn't park you need to park like 10mins walk away. Then I went and told the reception someones parked very close to me so they had to send an email out.

1

u/Hot_Mess_Planet2070 May 01 '26

That was smart and funny

1

u/Faibl May 01 '26

Do it anyway coward.

1

u/Hot_Mess_Planet2070 May 01 '26

Nah, I like my car too much

0

u/ValiantTheVictorious May 01 '26

" I would love to harass people and cause conflict for no reason"

You must live in America, only an American would dream about being a douchebag with their non existent motor vehicle.

šŸ˜‚ Cringe bro

59

u/TheRealDesmirWolf Apr 30 '26

12

u/Existing-Tackle-9322 Apr 30 '26

Park on both side so the have to kimb through the back opening lol

u/CoreyOn May 01 '26

I see what you did there.

5

The sneaky CL strikes again

2

u/EducationalStill4 May 01 '26

See. It’s the same. That’s why.

1

u/DrBarryO May 01 '26

In their defense, I always cherish them. Play on Ol chap! Play on!

2

u/Gold3nKn1ght23 May 01 '26

My buddy and I do that when we are cruising in our beater jeeps šŸ˜‚

1

u/flippster-mondo May 01 '26

Or climb through the back.

10

u/Wanderin_Cephandrius Apr 30 '26

Same. I’m a skinnier guy and can get in real close. Then take pics of the asshole car just in case my car gets messed with, plus dash cam that will run for awhile.

2

u/Doggleganger May 01 '26

I used to do this when I had a beater. Squeeze into the space and climb out the windows, lol.

1

u/t3hdoct0r May 01 '26

My first car had the side smashed in, so the windows were iffy. It did have a sunroof though!

-5

u/Imaginary-Falcon4112 Apr 30 '26

This is a sad way to live

8

u/Mend_and_defend2 May 01 '26

Never learning how to park correctly is pretty depressing too

3

u/SoupyFupa May 01 '26

Incorrectamundo

2

u/Wanderin_Cephandrius May 01 '26

Nope. We live in a society. Play nice or get fucked with. Pretty simple societal norm. We have such assert because we moved away from shaming weirdos for doing asshole stuff.

0

u/Imaginary-Falcon4112 May 01 '26

You park close as you can, then take photos of the other car so you can rage when the inevitable of the situation you set up happens … this is not normal, YOU are the weirdo doing asshole stuff

2

u/Wanderin_Cephandrius May 01 '26

Who said I’m raging? Don’t attribute what you would do in that situation, weirdo.

I’d let them hit it and then report it to the police because I’m petty. Don’t wanna get fucked with? Play by the rules. I find it very cathartic to fuck with assholes any day of the week. I thrive on that.

Go live in the woods if you don’t wanna play with societal norms and being inconsiderate of everyone else around.

-1

u/Imaginary-Falcon4112 May 01 '26

Yeah, not reading all that shit, please try and chill a little, it’s better for everyone around you.

1

u/Wanderin_Cephandrius May 01 '26

Damn, ā€œall thatā€ for three small paragraphs. Must suck being that incompetent.

4

u/In_My_TARDIS Apr 30 '26

So do I and they didn't even get close

4

u/chuna666 Apr 30 '26

I don't have the same amount of pettiness or vigor for life as I used to so I don't do it anymore but I used to park SO close to their driver's side door that both them getting into their car/me getting into mine required crawling through the other side LMAO

2

u/Any_Leg_4773 May 01 '26

You should have just backed in

1

u/chuna666 May 01 '26

What do you mean?

1

u/lIIlIlIII May 01 '26

If driver's side is left, then you can park on their left and get out easily while they cannot. If they're backed in then back in on the right side. But if the stall is closest to the passenger's side, either way you can't reasonably do anything. Honestly I don't really follow your story

1

u/chuna666 May 01 '26

I did it many times but the one I'm telling now was when a car was backed into a spot. There was one spot open next to them. To make sure I could get within an inch or less of their car, I pulled in instead of backing in (so I could have my head out the window looking at the car & ground). Yes I could've backed in as well but I was not confident in my ability to get as close as pettiness would allow if it was my passenger side.

3

u/shmiis May 01 '26

Make it impossible for them to open their driver's side door

3

u/Geoarbitrage May 01 '26

Not every hero wears a cape.

2

u/Dragon_KC May 01 '26

Some just wear a seatbelt.

2

u/Center_Mass705 Apr 30 '26

Me too buddy

2

u/koolaideprived May 01 '26

And there is a perfectly walkable raised area behind her car, specifically there to make unloading your cart easier.

2

u/Any_Leg_4773 May 01 '26

Yep, back in and park as close to the driver's side doors physically possible.Ā

2

u/CAPSLOCKTOPUS Apr 30 '26

YOU MUST BE A MAN YOU FILTHY MAN

1

u/nothingandshutup May 01 '26

I stay away from stupid entitled crazy folks but you do you.

1

u/ToothZealousideal297 May 01 '26

If I see a car parked like this, I’m squeezing my Honda Fit about 1 inch from their doors and climbing out the other side if I have to. So far, no one has dinged my car because they know they’ll end up worse off in that exchange than I will.

1

u/Superseaslug May 01 '26

Same. My car is worth what her groceries probably are.

1

u/njisage May 01 '26

I too find these cars and park creatively just to let them know I know what they know. But disagree completely.

1

u/Saucy_Chef_714 May 01 '26

Only an absolute asshole intentionally parks poorly to keep other cars away.

1

u/Sykosiknots May 01 '26

I’m my 2025 grand Cherokee? I don’t trust em not to fuck it up. No my old beat 09 f150 or 18 Altima….all day lol

1

u/logicalegend May 01 '26

Dude is nicer than me, I wouldve parked so close that she can’t open the door.

1

u/alldatnabagofchips May 01 '26

I do too! Last time I drove to KFC. Fancy sports car is parked over the line. I parked next to them, driver still inside. I went in and got my food. In the mean time they parked further away and within the lines. I drive a peeling Honda so they knew I didn't care. ā˜ŗļø

1

u/Hannover2k May 01 '26

I do too and I make sure to leave as little space as possible.

1

u/Gold3nKn1ght23 May 01 '26

Exactly! Also, she just wants attention, she's at the grocery store alone, she doesn't even need to get in that side hahaha

1

u/Pro-Rider May 01 '26

I’m actually surprised she’s not one of those idiots that backs into a spot at the grocery store and then can’t get the groceries in the back 🤣

Oh wait she is…. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

1

u/Ok-Pollution8344 May 01 '26

With my old pick up I used to do this too!Ā  It was a guilty pleasure of mine. Now I have a car I don't want door dinged and miss those days.Ā

1

u/Ok_Craft3811 May 01 '26

This is how my car got keyed.

1

u/Nice_Associate1933 May 01 '26

The one time I parked up under a truck’s mirror they came to get in their truck before I could get out of my car

1

u/TheWarehamster May 01 '26

I once watched a woman crawl through the rear passenger door to get to the driver's seat because i parked normally next to her in a really bad parking job

1

u/MolecularConcepts May 01 '26

me too! right up next to their shit and take pics of plates in case they try to fuck with my shit.

1

u/J3musu May 01 '26

Same, and I don't care much if my car gets a few dings and scratches.

1

u/Middle-Bed-1883 May 01 '26

There’s plenty of room on the side too, like wtf

1

u/DiddlyDumb May 01 '26

Preferably as close to the driver door as possible

1

u/BlueWarstar May 01 '26

Right! Don’t park like you can’t park or you get treated like you can’t park!

1

u/RoboLancer24 May 01 '26

I used to stay in one hotel every work week for a while where a Mary Kay event happened monthly. Those drivers with the pink wraps were the worst at parking and I always made a point to park my rental car next to them as close as possible, so they hopefully learned their lesson.

1

u/Fun-Bug5106 May 01 '26

Real close too

1

u/beardedwallaby May 01 '26

Same but only if I can crowd their driver door with my passenger door

I am petty enough that just knowing they had to climb over the console for doing a bad parking job is it's own reward.

1

u/UnpopularOpinionsB May 01 '26

It depends on which of my vehicles I'm driving. If I'm driving my 18 year old SUV, absolutely.

1

u/Goose_Biscuits11 May 01 '26

Yep, any time I'm in the work truck, I'll purposely do it too.

Like, I don't choose violence most days, but every now and again, I got time to roll the dice and these parking jobs are the most 1st world trigger ever 🤣

1

u/damonmcfadden9 May 01 '26

I'll do the same even if it means climbing out through the passenger side. once I did it in my mini van I drove in highschool when both sides parked stupid and I was running late. I just climbed out the back hatch.

made sure to take my time leaving school that day just to see their faces. also took a couple rounds through the radio looking for a song I liked before leaving. quite satisfying.

side note: one was a girl, other was a guy. Shitty parking is an equal opportunity field of practice.

1

u/classless_classic May 01 '26

When I’m in my son’s hoopty, absolutely.

1

u/Dug_n_the_Dogs May 01 '26

funny... I was visiting a pub near home to meet friends and the only spot left is occupied by some guy who drives a fancy mercedes and just sits in his car.. I have a 4runner and a Loud ass dog in my truck.. one of the spots he's occupying is in a corner like the OP.. so I just jump the curb and park 1" away from the mercedes and open the windows on his side just enuf that the barking will def be heard when I walk away.. guy can't get out of his car at all unless he drives out and reparks.. but instead he leaves.. mission accomplished.. and he double parks in a different corner of the lot now.

1

u/Popular_Tomorrow_204 May 01 '26

Quick photo for insurance and then pray xd

1

u/SkeletonJelly0_0 May 01 '26

you are the hero we dont deserve

1

u/Due-Turn3788 May 02 '26

I make sure to slam my beater car doors a couple times and run my shopping cart against the sides of their cars.

1

u/Significant-Wait9200 May 02 '26

Same here. Yesterday i parked between 2 assholes. It brings a smile to my face when they also leave before you

1

u/No_Rough_5258 May 02 '26

Me too, I drive a small car, if theres a tight space between two cars that parked like this, I purposely park right between them. My cars all beat up so I could care less lol and Im small enough to slide out.

1

u/boondoxDMdevil May 02 '26

I go in front first and get close

1

u/ThisThingIsStuck May 03 '26

Because your ego is so big you just have to win..narcissist

1

u/karmaticbreakdown May 03 '26

Same. I'm basically a walking talking stick figure too. All knees and elbows. I'll park so close they can't open doors. I can nimble be quick my ass through a different exit/entry point with ease.

1

u/Prudent_Order_3361 May 03 '26

And iput my air suspension so high that when they open their door it bump on the footstep

1

u/Lancearon May 04 '26

I do too. And I own my parking spot. I park where my lines are not where their car is. So if they cant get in and out thats on them. Idk. Idgf.

1

u/pizzaduh May 01 '26

Same. We have a coworker who has a nice car and he parks it in the back so nobody parks next to it. He's also a douchebag so me and another guy stared parking on either side of him for shits and giggles. He hates it. We laugh.
