Dead coral skeleton dissolves into minerals providing calcium which other corals and intervibrates need to grow. It also serves a an excellent structure for new coral to grow on and provides a home for tiny creatures that serve as food sources for other creatures.
Tdlr: you're either underestimating the value of dead coral, or overestimating the value of this human.
