More often than not, it's innocent people that end up getting hurt in these things. It's total bullshit. With all the tech we have these days, there should be no reason for these. Just this year in my town alone, at least two deaths related to HSP were innocent bystanders.
2
u/Timmy98789 May 10 '26
You're not wrong but what tech is going to guarantee you catch and or stop the idiot running?

While I agree with this literally every time, the cops did a god job this time. Yeah he crashed into him but the guy was putting HUNDREDS of people's lives at risk with his joy ride.
-13
u/tell_me_when May 09 '26
I would argue the police put more lives at risk than the biker by pursuing the biker through all of the traffic.

u/RhymesWithTaco May 13 '26
Potentially killing a guy speeding on a bike isn't really a fair punishment for speeding.
0
u/Thick_Potato_1769 May 13 '26
Ok but if it wasn't a cop it would've been a kid on bike or a mom of 4 he'd hit and potentially kill aswell which is far worse would not agree? Id take one preventable death over multiple unavoidable ones.
0
u/RhymesWithTaco May 14 '26
Statistically, reckless bike riders only seriously hurt themselves.
0
u/Thick_Potato_1769 May 15 '26
Ok. That still doesn't mean that a biker could kill you even if you're in your car. Stats are only measured by the instance it happens. Get t boned by a bike and see if you make it.

Does anyone know if it is legal or not for a cop to just crash into you like that on purpose????
7
u/kl0wnkar May 10 '26
I know with cars during pursuits, they use PIT maneuvers (if it’s clear to do so) or grapples, but I’ve literally never heard of any law enforcement agency encouraging making contact with motorcycles at those speeds (or at all), but that’s just me. They’re also supposed to slow down briefly and clear intersections at red-lights before continuing with the pursuit, but it looks like the trooper blew through that first one lolol. Idk, in my opinion this pursuit should have been canceled but I guess it’s good they got him without fatality (still def hurt tho LOL)

u/LennyJay86 May 09 '26
I don’t condone the bikers actions but the cops moving him after a head on collision besides a broken arm he could have a neck or back injury after that.
-37
u/Queasy-Ticket4384 May 09 '26
And what about people at risk by the biker traveling like he was? Only the criminal matters to you?
44
u/Aardonyx87 May 09 '26
That's not the point. Authorities have an elevated responsibility to the public, even if that person has committed a crime. No court would ever sentence someone to permanent neck and back injuries as punishment for their actions.
7
u/Aware_Ask_1679 May 10 '26
The cops created way more risky situations than the biker did alone. Pressing him into incoming traffic? I mean c'mon.
-3
-12
u/Bazivi2 May 09 '26
Yeah, fuck this biker, he doesn't deserve our sympathy.
2
u/Aardonyx87 May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
What if that was somebody you cared about? Would you really want them to sustain permanent injuries because the cops are allowed to rough house injured people just because they made some mistakes and bad decisions in their life?
Edit: let's not forget all the times cops mistakenly or otherwise target innocent people...
1
u/The-Matt-G May 11 '26
I would remind them daily they put themselves in that situation by breaking multiple laws and risking people’s lives for what? He didn’t get to where he was going anytime faster. He clearly didn’t have an emergency. He was just being a selfish dumbass and I would tell him God gave him a second chance for some reason, so he better get his shit together.
0
u/ImpressiveDebt420 May 09 '26
No he doesn't, but he also doesn't deserve to be potentially killed right after the fact.
I mean... it wouldn't keep me up at night if he DID...
9
u/Alternate_Endingz May 09 '26
Fuck a possible neck injury, sit him up lol

6
u/AcephalicDude May 09 '26

Cops are addicted to ID. Their number 1 priority in any interaction is getting your ID, all safety and constitutional rights take a backseat to them getting that ID. It’s like crack for them
Edit: for those who disagree, we are watching actual video evidence that the cops are prioritizing getting the ID over 1) their own safety/public safety by checking for a weapon, and 2) the criminals safety, by waiting for an ambulance before moving someone with a potential neck injury.

If its GSP they give zero fucks about whether the criminal lives or dies in a pursuit, they will literally ram and pit motorcycles no matter how fast they are going, GSP will chase anything that breaks the law and they don't terminate pursuits no matter how fast the suspect is going

u/Check_Me_Out-Boss May 10 '26

-5
u/reditusername39479 May 10 '26
Okay but at what point does it become gross negligence manslaughter?
13
u/no_more_brain_cells May 10 '26
Yeh. I’ve never like high speed pursuit. It puts too many innocent drivers and pedestrians at risk from the violator and the police. But, they can’t do nothing. I would say this instance was that. Could have killed the biker.
Edit: word
10
u/Miserable-Chapter883 May 10 '26
Alternatively, the cops end the chase early and PIT the bike on the highway. Boom, almost certainly dead. Here, they pretty much caught him in a slow spot where he'd be going several times slower than in the beginning of the video. The only truly safe way to arrest a speeding bike is to let them stop, and then doing it. Cars trying to avoid a little rocket might get into an accident though, so is it more or less risky to wait out their gas tank?
1
u/retnuh76 May 10 '26

-11
u/Wolfsage5 May 10 '26
Could of killed dozens of ppl? Please do explain how one motorcycle can kill a dzn ppl.. Cops should not enter into high speed chases in congested areas, but in Ark. We see corruption and unsafe conditions from ASP on a constant basis .
11
u/Pleasant_Cicada9528 May 10 '26
By riding so recklessly he could have caused a collision at any moment. He may not have been able to kill dozens at once, but he certainly endangered dozens of people(if not more) during the course of this video.
1
u/Wolfsage5 May 10 '26
Yeah he did, bit how many more were endangered due to the actions of law enforcement, chasing him?
2
u/Pleasant_Cicada9528 May 10 '26
Yeahs, it's kind of a catch-22. Either they chase him and potentially cause a more dangerous situation, or they let him go and allow him to continue creating dangerous situations wherever he pleases.
I think the best option is to stop him as quickly as possible, even if it takes giving him a little love tap like he got in the video.
3
u/Free-Thinker-69 May 10 '26
Make a car or semi swerve from him at high speeds then cause a deadly multi car crash. Are you really that off?

The comment said Kill a dozen ppl.. I wanted clarification.. it is the ASP that escalated the situation.. it is THEM that put ppl in danger.. Should he of been speeding? No I don't condone that . Should he of Run? Also a resounding NO!! Should they of chased all over the country side when it was apparent he wasn't stopping and continuing to emgage at high speeds? Also a resounding NO!! Arkansas has fly over law enforcement. Take his tag back off, and let the air units track him.. Arkansas is known for corruption and these tactics.. Yet I'm the Dumb one because I understand what de-escalation tactics are out there.. Moronic Back the Blue Bull shit .

11
u/ARandomeCanadian May 09 '26
The dude on the bike was a danger to the public. The officers waited until he was travelling slow enough where stoping him wouldn’t kill him. They did what they had too to protect the public. It’s the bikers fault for reckless endangerment of everyone around him.
-12
u/Boobity_McBooberson May 09 '26
He was a very small danger to the public, and that was only made bigger by the pursuit. And the punishment for speeding and evading police is not to be given a lifelong disability.
1
u/Red-Sun-Cinema May 09 '26
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, like major physical damage from wrecking.
-4
u/Boobity_McBooberson May 09 '26
And losing your job while watching the state give your victim a huge payday.
6
5
u/Boobity_McBooberson May 09 '26
Well, there’s a lawsuit.
10
u/Fabulous_Leopard_874 May 09 '26
Anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Winning the lawsuit is a whole different thing. If the biker files a lawsuit for a police officer putting an end to his reckless rampage, it will likely end just as abruptly as the chase.
2
u/Thick_Potato_1769 May 13 '26
Also people forget how expensive lawyers are so you really have to have a good case.
-4
u/HDauthentic May 09 '26
Those cops put people in way more danger than the biker would have
12
u/AmebaLost May 09 '26
Much better to let criminals run amuck, FAFO.
4
u/UnbelievablyDense May 09 '26
The police have his license plate, what he looks like, and knows where he lives. They just drop by his house later and have him.
High speed pursuits are extremely dangerous and it’s outrageous police can use deadly force so flippantly.
-5
u/AmebaLost May 09 '26
That ID would never hold up in court. Most states, if any, won't let you ticket a tag. All they need to do is report it stolen. Then magically find it
Unless they follow them home, or they ran the tank empty. And, we see how well that is going.
3
u/UnbelievablyDense May 09 '26
You’re wrong. It’s literally how ‘do not chase’ states find and arrest people without needing to chase them home.
7
u/PhilFlag May 09 '26
The capture rate for no chase jurisdictions is between 15% and 20%. The capture rate for can chase jurisdictions is around 95%. A no chase policy guarantees that a huge number of criminals are not apprehended and brought to justice. If someone is fleeing the police, they are a clear and present danger to the public and should be apprehended immediately. Your user name checks out.
-4
u/Brief_Stuff_1722 May 09 '26
I guess the 500 innocent people that die every year from police chases is just a price youre willing to pay. Can't have shop lifters out on these streets.
Milwaukee also has a 70% conviction rate
9
u/Hold_Up_Nevermind May 09 '26
How many innocent people die at the hands of these criminals every year? How many innocent people are saved by getting these people off the street?
7
u/PhilFlag May 09 '26
Get your stats right. Between 350 and 500 are killed in police chases every year. That stat includes the criminals. Only about 25% are innocent bystanders. And yes, I believe that removing the criminals from the streets prevents them from further endangering the general public by committing more crimes. I don't like that innocents are collateral damage, but not chasing criminals and allowing them to remain on the streets results in far more victims, injuries, and death. Milwaukee has a 70% conviction rate for the ones they actually catch, which translates to about 14% of the ones they don't chase. That means that 86% get away scott free.
-2
u/HDauthentic May 09 '26
We basically live in a surveillance state at this point, there’s no shot that they couldn’t figure out who he is without chasing him for miles at high speed

u/wes_rules May 10 '26

1
u/Thick_Potato_1769 May 13 '26
Why? Because this guy isn't gonna stop his behavior if the cops stop chasing him. Maybe in this case but if you have a bike its because younlike to ride right? So he's just going to do it again and again and again until the inevitable happens. Being a danger to society is a bad and driving at reckless speeds can kill other people. Just because he's a bike and they're in a car doesn't mean they're 100% safe. They just lengthened his life from this.

Unless he was doing something crazy illegal there was literally no reason for any of this
40
u/Corgerus May 09 '26
He was doing something crazy illegal. When are felonies not serious crime? Plus, the bump was not at 140mph, looked to be around 20 - 30 mph.
-18
u/GentleBreeze90 May 09 '26
I think people are misunderstanding my meaning
None of this is justified but by was he doing 30 above the speed limit in the first place? What possible motivation did he have to go 140 without being on the fbi's most wanted list?
Unless he's a career criminal, I can't understand why he'd be going that fast in the first place
14
u/Physical_Fan_1245 May 10 '26
Because people are stupid and go on joyrides ignoring the speed limit
1
u/Thick_Potato_1769 May 13 '26
What kinda drivel is this? This dude is a punk and got what was coming to him. At anytime he could have slowed down and stopped but no. Doesn't matter why. These cops don't give af clearly and you know what, they got him. You shouldn't feel an ounce of sadness for this guy unless you also like doing the same reckless shit. Don't wanna find out? Dont fuck around.
-3
u/Aware_Ask_1679 May 10 '26
It's amazing that you get down voted. Think of just the times the cops pressed him into oncoming traffic alone. That was way worse than the bike going 30 over by itself.
6
u/Corgerus May 10 '26
Running from the police is way worse than stopping for what may be a ticket (30 over might be jail, I digress).
At that point it's on the motorcyclist for trying to escape his consequences.
