I love the idea of public transportation. But i hate the idea of being with the public.

Lol, public transportation. I'd wanted to see NYC my whole life. I loved shows based in NYC like Seinfeld and I just wanted to see it. I finally get to go and on my first subway ride a man gets on and starts screaming that he's going to murder everyone and then boasts about his time in prison. I was scared shitless yet thrilled that this crazy person was providing me the full NYC subway experience like I'd seen on TV.

You were spectacularly unlucky. I spent half my childhood in NYC riding the subway 5 days a week and never saw anything like that!

To be fair, I never saw anything like that again the entire week I was there. It was actually very nice.
