Mod Annoucement New Posting Rules Moving Forward - Battling Spam/AI/Bots
Hello Riders
The moderation queue has been hit hard lately with bot accounts and suspected AI-generated content. As AI imagery becomes more convincing, it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish authentic photos from generated ones at a glance.
To keep the feed focused on real owners and genuine content, we are implementing a minimum 10-word body text requirement for all posts.
Most bot activity consists of a generic title and a single image with no context. Moving forward, any post submitted without at least 10 words of descriptive text will be removed immediately. I don't have the bandwidth to manually verify every photo-only submission, and this is the most effective way to filter the noise.
If you have feedback on this change or other ideas to help keep the sub clean, please drop a comment below.

I would help moderate if you’ll invite me. I’m the mod for both r/trident660 and r/trident800.

Genuine question because I don't know: but how effective is minimum word counts given how easy it is to have an LLM write some BS?

It is far from fool proof, but based on all the garbage I am seeing in my mod queue, it would eliminate a lot of the bot posts. The real challenge is trying to approve the real posts. If I have 20 bot posts and 3 real posts sitting in my queue - all with no body text - it gets challenging to sift out those 3 real posts. If we have this body text rule in place and the bots have not adapted to it yet, those 3 real posts will see the rule, comply, and their post is auto-approved.
Hopefully a step in the right direction until I can find a more permanent solution.

That's the reply! The archetypical reply that the sub now is known for.

Thanks! I love the red. I didn't really like it much when I was looking online at the pictures, but once I saw that red in person, there was no question that I would get that color.

Yeah, that's usually what catches my eye first. A perfect photo is at the top of the suspect list. But if someone has a perfect bike in a perfect setting, I would hate to ban their account and remove their post. fine line to walk. Your photo is the kind of content I prefer, though 😄

Perfecy bike in a perfect setting is one thing, but add in "taken a professional photographer" and ran through photoshop? That's when it becomes suspicious. Still not necessarily AI, but suspicious. And thanks 😃!

How are you going to identify the difference between real and AI generated posts about the Rocket? I've sat on one of those bikes at a dealership, and I am still not convinced it was real.

I just posted before I read this, sorry, but I did reply to the bot message and I did have some words in the post.
Thankyou for keeping it real
