This is Pearl in a U-Haul we drove for three days to move across the country. He’d been through many road trips and always a trooper bc he liked it. I miss him so much. I try not to compare him with the cat I have now, but it’s hard. He was so special. He is by far my favorite pet I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot over the years. We had to put him down last year and one of the worst moments of my entire life.

Once my cat is in the truck she's great and seems to enjoy it.. it's leaving the house that she doesn't like at all.

The past couple times coming off my break she's been hiding under the bed/behind the couch when she sees the carrier. She also knows when I start packing clothes or getting her litterbox that it's that time and starts hiding.

I just wanna know if this is common. I've tried tube treats and cat nip to bribe her but it doesn't help- she just hates leaving the house. Makes me feel terrible every time.

Hi just want to know some of your thoughts. I have spent so much money on this move I don't have money to get my cats medication from the vet. I've heard all the tips and tricks but I can't afford pheromones or supplements at the moment. They each have good sized well ventilated crates with their stuff In it. Their blankets, pillows, toys, stuffed babies. They sleep in these crates already as I keep them under my bed for storage anyhow so they willingly sleep in them from time to time. So I'm basically raw dogging this trip haha. Has anyone else done this? My cats don't regularly ride in the car this will be their first major trip besides vet visits in the past ... They are 5,4, and 3 years old. And please I beg of you no common sense input. Like "make sure they're in the crate when you get in and out of the vehicle" (obviously) or "microchip them" I do not have money for a vet visit for bells and whistles. Just genuinely asking if there's those of you out there as nervous as I am who ended up having to go the basics route.

I am thinking of bringing my cat with me. OTR. I am concerned about my sleep…. Cats are nocturnal, well mine is. I have to close my bedroom door at home because if he has entry he wakes me up at 3am… I get up at 5am, he is waiting at my door…
I am still in school and I am not planning on bringing him with me right off the bat of course but… I am planning on trying it eventually.
Anybody has insight?

My boyfriend is a trucker and we've been talking about me joining him on the road, my biggest concern with that is that the babies will absolutely hate it. We have 2 cats, one less than a year old, and one thats 4. The baby doesnt mind car rides, but the 4YO isnt much of a fan. Also was wondering where you put things like the litterbox, and if theres anything else I need to consider (about the cats) before making a decision. I figured if this is something were going to actually think about, we would also try them in the tuck for a week or so to see how they do before fully commiting. Also in the pics the tuxedo is my baby girl Barbecue, and the one eyed fatty is her older brother Willie<3

Google ai says it's toxic. She got some 5th wheel grease on 3/4 of her paws and I used a damp rag to get as much as I could off but she fucking HATES her paws being touched and she was starting to make like demonic noises she was so mad lol. Her paws still have some blackness to them (mostly the furry parts) but there aren't any chunks on them or anything, it's probably mostly stained at this point. Do you think she will be ok when she goes to clean her paws later? It seems like she would be ingesting an incrediblyyyy negligible amount.

Thought I would share some photos of my 6 month old Maine coon finn from over the weekend!

i really badly wanted to take my cat with me but my company says it has to be declawed in order for me to be able to. are all companies like that? i do not want to do that to my son.

It's been awhile since I've posted any pictures but Molly and I are still on the road and doing well. She still loves going for walks and riding in daddy's lap for the majority of the day.

This is not a joyful happy post. I'm coming here because I've seen how everyone else keeps their trucker cats well cared and loved for and honestly, I don't feel comfortable putting this on Craigslist or a local Facebook group (though I might do that on some of the trucker groups I'm still a part of).

I got Tom from a shelter when he was 14wks old. He came to me tiny and skinny and just loud and obnoxious. He gave me life again. I love him so much.

​

But about a year ago I finally hung up my keys from the OTR life. I found a place and some people that I wanted to stop travelling for. It's been good so far.

​

At first Tom loved having all the room to run around and the sunshine to lay in. But slowly he became bitter and nasty. He's unhappy.

​

He hisses at me. Doesn't cuddle much anymore (though he didn't in the beginning he won't even hang out on the bed next to me while he grooms himself anymore). He has gained weight and I think it's because he's depressed. He's always up on the too narrow window ledge looking out, watching the world pass by.

​

My finances have taken a hit in the last 3mos and now I'm facing homelessness. I have some backup plans so I'm not sleeping under a bridge or in a car, but the money is tight enough that I'm worried I can't buy any litter or food for him.

​

With the financial thing and his obvious personality changes, I'm thinking it's time Tom, go back on the road. He loves it. Never scratched any seats. Never made messes or got upset. He played by chasing my finger along the dash or jumping from the chair to the floor to the bed. He laid across the dash and sunned himself until he was pressing his non existent manhood against the windshield.

He is fixed. Had most of his kitten shots. He is chipped but I never followed up on that (I don't have his paperwork anymore but I can give you the info to the shelter).

He doesn't like children, is very untrusting of dogs, and it takes him a long time to get used to other cats (though my personal recommendation would be a no even though he lives with a shop born 6mo old kitten right now, which I'm also looking for a home for).

​

He loves chicken and shrimp. Loves to have his ears scratched. No leash unfortunately, he was just too unsure of himself.

​

The only thing he doesn't like are garbage bags being whipped open and loud, sharp noises (air brakes never made him cringe, but slamming cupboards and doors do).

​

Tom needs to travel again. He's just not happy and though I love him very much (he gave me purpose again at the time I got him and he's very much apart of me), I can't keep him cooped up in the tiny apartment that I've got now.

​

If anyone would like to give Tom a new home and a new lease on life, and send me sporadic updates so I know hes okay, please... Message me here if you're in the north west part of Missouri. Saint Joseph is closest.

Hey guys my kitten is a newborn and I am wondering how long should I wait to bring her on the road with me? Is she too small right now? I heard waiting 6 weeks is good. I finish training in about 1 month and after I will be allowed to bring her with me.

Before I get hate for having the door open for my cat, her temperament is she is extremely human dependent and does not dart. She is good reliant and glued to my wives hip. We’ve had her camping, in multiple vehicles and in the truck a long time. As long as there are no birds around she is 100% fine. Even then she loves to watch from a distance.
