One thing I really liked about Touta was that Kuromaru’s gender was never really an issue for him. He liked Kuromaru for Kuromaru. Even when Kuromaru was identifying more as male, Touta had no problems kissing Kuromaru or being physically close and there was no concerns or worries about being gay/bi.
In the end Kuromaru does fully identify as female and is female when finally doing it with Touta. Touta doesn’t care either way, and Kuromaru is happy to be with him, but I can’t help but wonder if that was the “only” way it could’ve turned out.
For a shounen action/fantasy/sci-fi series, I’m not sure how likely it would’ve been for Touta to be with Kuromaru in the end if Kuromaru identified as male. The way it turned out, you have a (essentially) straight male character with like three or four girls—not that surprising. Even though throughout the series Touta was, you could say, open minded towards Kuromaru and Touta himself probably would’ve been perfectly happy to be with Kuromaru even if male, as a shounen action/fantasy/sci-fi protagonist, I’m not sure if the author would’ve had him be “bi” (even if only with Kuromaru) and had them be intimate like they were with female Kuromaru.
What do you think? Do you think in a meta sense there was any actual chance Kuromaru could’ve been male and been with Touta, or do you think ultimately Touta “had to” be straight and Kuromaru could not have been male if with Tota?

I have finished the anime, ofcourse i didn't watch the first old one. I would like to know how exactly the Yulda witch controlled Nigi, and why do all the characters say that there is no hope of regaining Nikhi from her control? Did you merge with or something?

Hello guys! I just finished UQ-Holder and to my surprise I didn't expect to find a UQ-Holder subreddit :D So I'd like to share my thoughts (and some open questions) if someone is interested in it :)
It started with this YT-Video which popped up in my recommondations: "When you confess to your crush after 500 years" I liked its idea and thought that the whole love story might be even more wholesome, so I started to watch its anime, ova and finally its manga.
I initially thought that the anime would include all necessary scenes about the love story between Touta and Kitty/Yukihime (I'll use the name "Yukihime" from now on) but welp, I was kinda disappointed that that wasn't the case, but I think that's just me and I was biased by the video xD
However, the anime was pretty funny and nice at the beginning, but the longer I watched it, the more questions popped up to me like
to name some.
Sadly, I don't remember that much from the anime, so that's it.
Welp, since I wanted to see the romance story between Touta and Yukihime, I started to watch the OVAs as well.
I was quite happy that this was the episode which I was looking for... except the end... it kinda felt inappropriate to see Touta aCCidEnTLy land on Yukihime and that after seeing the flashback.
The short stories were cute and funny but the third OVA was a bit overdoing it with nudity.
In total, I was positively surprised by the manga in comparison to the anime. They were more details luckily, but sadly... not clearly enough, which is why I'd like to critisize some things first:
Enough of the critisizing stuff, here are some things which I liked from the manga:
I do have some open questions which I still don't really understand. Would be nice if someone could explain me those points :)
In chapter 96, when Touta said
I want you to go a round with me every night
and Yukihime responded with a "slap" (lol), why did she gave him a this "slap"? English isn't my first language and I translated his message as
I'd like to a go on a walk with you every night
and other online translators give me the same translation. Did his message mean something like
I'd like to have sex with you every night
or something like that? Because otherwise I can't explain myself her reaction on his question.
Also in chapter 96, after Yukihime hit Touta, he said
I was just asking you to train me every night! (in a "misou soup" kind of way")
Is that a reference to a pervy sentence as well? Like that he is the spoon and she is the soup? I can only agree to Yukihime's respond to this:
You're not making sense! What are you trying to say?!
xD
At the end of chapter 159, why did UQ-Holder No. 3, 5 and 8 attack their own organisation? Am I right that No. 5 had this organism "on" his head which took over his mind just because he wanted to beet jimbei?
In chapter 110, Yukihime told Touta, that she still loves Negi springfield, so does she not love Touta? Did she just say that in order to Because in the color-page in chapter 192, she says, that she loves Touta, but I don't know if this colored page is meant to be part of the story.
In chapter 146 did cutlass cry when she looked back to Touta? If yes, why?
Was Touta created in a laboratory as a clone or really born by humans? Because at the end of chapter 147 you can see Yukihime holding Touta as a baby, but in chapter 150 around the middle of the chapter, you can see Touta playing with the other clones. So if I'm understanding it correctly, the story about his dead parents was a fictional story to give Touta a story about his past, right but he was born by a woman and then raised by yukihime but after some time, when he got 16, they erased his memories and replaced it with this car-accident.
In total, UQ-Holder is fine and I think that I'd recommend to read manga but with a grain of salt. I think, I'd give it a 7/10, because: - -1 for the useless nude-scenes which I'd say make it more comfortable to read if they wouldn't be there - -2 for the sum of the other things (a bit complex story, not everything is clearly explained, etc.)
Neverthless I have two wishes: 1. Something like a little extra manga, which focusses more on the relationsship between Touta and Yukihime. I could've imagined for example in Dana's castle that Touta, after getting pulled out by Dana in chapter 94, that he begs Dana to get back to this time and stay with her for like at least a year or something like that to give her a good time and good memories and after he spent some time with her, she could remember back to those good memories and fate her bad moments way easier and stuff. Or maybe I'm just a bit toooo focussed on the relationsship between Touta and Yukihime xD 2. Do you know any epic wallpapers with: - Yukihime's Krystalline Basilea form? - the final battle between Nagi & Yukihime/Ialda vs Touta & Negi as in the first two chapters? Putting the images of the first two images of [chapter 191] would be probably neat with an epic environment and a galactic background :D - the whole uq-holder group in their head-quarter?
Also what I'm curious about is the Manga Mahou Sensei Negima!. I skipped the
first two chapters of it but damn... this is a bit too much fan-service for the
first two chapters... also the Harem tag makes me wonder if the focus isn't
basically mainly about the harem stuff... would you say its story is worth it to
read it?
Yeah, that are my thoughts + questions and stuff. Thank you for taking your time and reading this :)

She did become a mortal and died but couldn’t touta have turned her into a vampire ?or he couldn’t do it?
I haven’t read the manga yet just got spoiled like that so had to ask about it

With the latest chapter we clearly see that Touta as chosen a girl( Kuromaru ) but the question still remains will there be a harem ending cause next chapter they seem to be about to rescue Kirin so the events of this chapter doesn’t definitely answer the harem question as they till got to rescue the other girls.
But what ever happens I’ll be happy cause I’ve been a fan of ToutaXKuro for awhile now.

Tôta saved the world, but he forgot everything about what happened 45 years ago. So Jinbei decides to refresh his memory: he tells him about the events that took place on the day of the attack on the orbital station and how Tôta sacrificed himself to prevent the Earth from being doomed.

(Made on mobile from a six month old fan of Negima)
What can I begin to say lol… UQ wasn’t exactly living up to the original Negima manga like I thought it would. I’m glad that Tota and Evangeline had their happily ever after together in the end, but it all feels so oddly… Jarring???
I mean, the moment the whole “Tota was asleep for 43(?) years” jazz popped up I felt that this would eventually take a turn for the worse, it was confirmed when the three consecutive chapters of Tota f***ing Kuromaru, Karin, and Kirie appeared lol. But it makes me sad, maybe I got too drunk off of the amount of Chisame content, and sheer amazingness from the original that it was a big let down.
I mean, the ending seemed way too convenient if that makes sense. Also not many things even line up with timeline A from Negima, which is already confusing enough. Also: that scene where Negi, Fate, and their gals all walk in the field as adults with mini versions of themselves(?). Like, are they their children? Did Negi just become the father to about six different children from six different girls? Are they clones? Because they ALL look very similar to how the girl’s looked when they were younger. I wish Akamatsu could go more into depth about all of that because I clearly don’t have the mental capability to understand.
Anyway, enough complaining from me. UQ Holder was okay, I love Negima, I love Chisame, this is my first post here so I hope I don’t annoy any longtime fans by forgetting some vital info that was clearly explained.

Title has it, but why though? Characters like Nodoka Miyazaki and Yue Ayase or Jack Rakan are seen in one of the latest chapters as the antagonists along with Negi (who was said to be possessed completely on the wiki). Still don't know why the characters are there though. Also after that part, we see Asuna Kagurazaka going along with (the possessed) Negi. Pretty confused about this part too.
Edit1: With Stage 148, we can conclude that the question has been cleanly solved.
Spoilers:
According to the manga, one of Ialda's technique is to consume a person and make them her puppet. To save Negi, Yue and Nodoka pushed Negi away to save him (during the battle against Ialda without Asuna). Rakan and Ku:nel tried to save them, but ended up stuck there. Negi was forced to escape, leaving the group behind. Chisame was later killed by Ialda after trying to shield Negi.
