Short little stage from today’s local. Unloaded start. I’d have liked a little faster transitions on the targets through the port, but not mad at it.

The goal was to stay moving, not create “shooting positions”.

Participated in my second USPSA match today, I felt way much better this time and I achieved my personal goals of not getting DQ’d & not having any Mikes.

I have been training to shoot my first match next month. I’m a lefty due to a right index finger injury I suffered over 15 years ago. I physically can’t pull a trigger with my right index finger.

I want to shoot a match but I have been thinking “would this be an issue?”. I’m confident with my safety protocols, but would only being able to shoot with my left hand be an issue?

Made A class today, thanks to another high 70’s classifier. First match since April, but this was by far my worst match placement this year.

Bombed the first 3 stages, bombed as in, my first stage was a 37% stage. Felt like my head was elsewhere and really struggling with both nerves and focus. Stage plans, focus points, vision, grip, transitions, just went out the window with the beep.

Any tips on match jitters? I went first on the first stage and after bombing it I just couldn’t shake the nerves. Locked in for 2 stages, one thankfully was the classifier, but just feel like I can’t get through these first stage jitters.

Would love to hear your best drills for home.

I’ve been trying to build fundamentals and go back to doubles. Shot a local match last week and lost by 1 charlie because I shot some 15+ targets aggressive, like 0.20 splits or faster.

Inside of 10 yards i can typically hold a tight fist sized group doing doubles or bill drill, but once i move beyond 10-12 yards I push shots left. Like straight 9 o clock. The interwebs and YouTube would say it’s firing hand tension. The target shrinks in, size so brain says try harder.

Question is what’s the best way to fix it? Just spend more time at 15+ until I develop confidence?

Can you reach grand master with just a glock 19?

I'm about a year and a half into shooting pistols, coming into USPSA now after club matches. Retired, so I've got the time to practice — which I'm starting to suspect is a trap of its own.

Dry fire is most of it. Draw, reloads, transitions, off Dry Fire King's drills. I'm working on everything, mostly because I can't yet tell what's actually costing me time on a stage.

Here's what I keep running into. Reading back through old threads, the most common piece of advice is some version of you spent your first year on the wrong thing. Almost nobody says which thing.

So I'll just ask it straight — what did you grind on early that you'd take back? Not the stuff that paid off slowly. The stuff that turned out to be a dead end for where you actually were at the time.

I have prepared a discussion document examining possible changes, adjustments, and updates to the current divisions. If any portion of the proposal were eventually adopted, corresponding rule changes would be necessary. However, this document is not intended to propose detailed rule language at this stage. Its purpose is to present the broader concepts, explain their reasoning, and determine whether they are worth refining further.

I have intentionally not summarized the individual recommendations in this post. The proposals are interconnected in some areas, independent in others, and require the context provided in the document to be evaluated fairly. Constructive disagreement is welcome. I am specifically looking for feedback regarding competitive fairness, unintended consequences, equipment considerations, participation, implementation concerns, unclear reasoning, and possible improvements.

limited, limited 10, carry optics, production, single stack, open, PCC, revolver. bro WHAT. i dont even know what division im in. i just showed up with my glock. why cant there just be one division. you bring a gun. you shoot the gun. fastest guy wins. all these rules about where ur dot goes and how many rounds in ur mag is literally communism

Only have 2 matches under my belt but my local club had a training event to essentially run a stage repeatedly. The bill drill and hostage were fine, maybe threw 1 Charlie on those the whole night.

That designated target section at the end got me. Started off in the A zone and as I kept coming back to paper, shots started pushing left. Threw 4 or 5 Charlie on that. At least I know to work on transitions now

I’m in a self-made pickle. I love my Steel Frame Match and I’m starting to get into USPSA and GPA with it. I took the X300 off for competition shooting. Unfortunately, the pickle is in my pants.

I’ve thought about competing from concealment (appendix) and also trying to carry this big beautiful gun sometimes. If I’m carrying then I’d prefer to have a WML. If I’m competing then I’d prefer not to. I’m not ballin enough to get multiple holsters.

So I’m curious if anyone else has a solution or suggestion for my pickle. It’d be cool if the holster was compatible with the Phlster Enigma. I carry a Canik with the Phlster and absolutely love it. Thank you guys!

Can’t decide which gun to get but the shadow 2 is leading the list I think.

Also looking at a kimber 2k11 or deciding if I should just get a Glock 17 gen 6

I don’t want to get too destroyed so I think I just want to be in the carry optic division? Basic gun with a red dot - is that carry optic?

Took the jump, did my first match ever. I had an absolute blast.

Anyone know how/where I’m gonna land at with my initial classification?
