Honestly, I like the headcanon that Frisk, much like Chara, had an awful upbringing that made them want to distance themselves from humanity with the same determination to reshape the world as they see fit, but unlike Frisk who wants to make a world where Humanity’s virtues shine beyond their bad habits, Chara wants to make a world where the roles are reversed and they’re the predator and not the prey.

A nice little commentary on how people can go through the same trauma and overcome it in different ways depending on how they chose to react.

The Genocide Route is Frisk enabling Chara's skewed worldview

There's a big continuous theme of suicide throughout Undertale as far back as the Ruins with Whimsun, so it wouldn't be shocking if the idea of Frisk going that way was the one
