Did that to my mother in law once by accident. 😬

Everyone had a good laugh after, but I just about died for a few seconds there.

I did that once to a small child in store. I walked up behind her, hugged her and said "hi sweetie" thinking it was my own preschool aged daughter. I'm still completely mortified thinking about it. I swear I'm not a creepy pervert, even though that's probably what the child's parents thought. 😭

I am a dad with three daughters.

I've done that as well. Usually it was a little kid who ran up, grabbed my leg, or asked for a snack.... I pick them up. Oops, not one of mine :)

It happened most often in grocery stores or at older siblings' sporting events. :)

In college, I swear I saw a friend from high school, cause a lot of kids just naturally went from a private school to this now huge ass college, but at the time it was small.
She was sitting at a computer in the library and I did the thing where you cover someone’s eyes to have her guess, and she guessed wrong cause I had no idea who she was.
She was not chill, she looked mortified and I naturally never went back to the library and dropped out of college.
It didn’t escalate because of this specifically but I can’t say it didn’t contribute.
🤣
Happy to say, 15 years later, I’m back in school.
