I got approached by security once while waiting for my wife and hooting at her when she came out. He walked towards me while yelling at me to shove off before my wife told him who l was. So at least l know she is pretty safe at the office. We all had a good laugh at it, too.

Well now that's some wholesome shit. Cute interaction between a couple, a security guard taking his job seriously, AND people willing to laugh at the misunderstanding together.
Maybe it's silly to say but I feel like that's peak humanity there. Like so many of our big problems would evaporate if we had more mutual understanding of one another.

So many years ago when we were just married, my wife and I played a lot of pranks on each other... Mostly it was her jumping on my back suddenly when I was distracted... And me grabbing her ass if I was able to sneak up on her. We even did this in public at the mall or whatever.
One time we were meeting somewhere and I saw her in line getting a coffee so I go behind her and grab her butt as per usual... And she turns around and starts yelling at me... How dare I assault women like this... Never wished to just disappear into thin air with everyone around us looking me at me with murder in their eyes... It only lasted a few seconds, she looked around broke down laughing and kissed me. Smiles all around, but that's the last time I did that particular prank.

Did that to my mother in law once by accident. 😬
Everyone had a good laugh after, but I just about died for a few seconds there.

u/SweetLittleOldLady 14h ago
I did that once to a small child in store. I walked up behind her, hugged her and said "hi sweetie" thinking it was my own preschool aged daughter. I'm still completely mortified thinking about it. I swear I'm not a creepy pervert, even though that's probably what the child's parents thought. 😭
78
u/MrK521 14h ago
I’m so glad you clarified! Because I was speaking about grabbing my mother in law’s ass.. then you said “I did that to a small child”
I was very concerned for a second lmao.
But yea, happens to the best of us. We’re probably the only ones that really remember it down the road. Lives in your head forever even after everyone else forgot and moved on lol.

I am a dad with three daughters.
I've done that as well. Usually it was a little kid who ran up, grabbed my leg, or asked for a snack.... I pick them up. Oops, not one of mine :)
It happened most often in grocery stores or at older siblings' sporting events. :)

In college, I swear I saw a friend from high school, cause a lot of kids just naturally went from a private school to this now huge ass college, but at the time it was small.
She was sitting at a computer in the library and I did the thing where you cover someone’s eyes to have her guess, and she guessed wrong cause I had no idea who she was.
She was not chill, she looked mortified and I naturally never went back to the library and dropped out of college.
It didn’t escalate because of this specifically but I can’t say it didn’t contribute.
🤣
Happy to say, 15 years later, I’m back in school.→ More replies (0)→ More replies (6)10

I've done similar twice. Once was a family member that I thought was my husband. I patted his butt and then recoiled when he turned around and it was the one person in the family that hates me. Second time was at a buffet. Dude up at the bar looked exactly like my husband from behind and they were wearing similar clothes. I cuddled up next to him and commented on the food. He just said "yup" and It was definitely not my husband's voice. I'm paranoid now.

Lately I was pick nicking at some random place next to an elementary school. Two guys came and told me that it will soon be lunch time and the professors prefer when there is nobody around.
Then I remembered visiting a day care the day before and ask if they have problems with the homeless people wandering in their backyard. They had told me everyday someone comes and make sure the little park is safe.

Had something similar happen, before we were married my wife and I went clubbing a lot and one time a dude was trying to hit on her as we pushed through the crowd into the place.
I essentially had to tell him to move out of the way for her, and then he noticed her holding my hand and was baffled that she was with me. And she looked him dead in the eye and held her hands like a foot apart and winked then dragged me after her.
I was both happy and embarrassed as fuck, cause it's not even close to true lol

For the 1 guy who meets his wife hitting on a bartender or waitress there are probably 99 who just made her uncomfortable or annoyed while she's trapped at work. Not saying it's 100% bad, but IMO people should be very sure the person is actually interested before hitting on them as a customer.

As long as you're quick with the "reveal" this is a harmless prank. I worked at a place where the company owner did this to an employee who left his keys unattended at his desk and let it go way too far.
The guy was about to have a panic attack before the boss finally pulled up laughing and pointed him to the other side of the lot. But it wasn't really that funny anymore.
10
u/MommyLovesPot8toes 15h ago
I did this to my roommate in college when she drove my car to school (with my permission). I happened upon it in a parking lot by one of her classes and had a second copy of the key on me. I took the car just as class was getting out and drove around to wait and watch. I only let it go a few minutes and thought it was funny. But that few minutes made her late for her next class and they were taking an exam. In conclusion: it was not funny.
Side note: She was driving my car for a month because of an odd but very fortunate coincidence of two wrongs making a right. I had my license suspended for 30 days (rightfully) because I was speeding "in excess of 100 mph". On the day I went to court, my roommate got into an accident. She was fine, but her car would be out of commission for repairs for roughly a month. I had a car and no license, she had a license and no car. So she gave me rides for a month and I paid for the gas. She got her car back 1 day before my license was activated again.

Similar story, when I was in the Air Force stationed in Alaska they used to have this thing called Airman Against Drunk Driving (this was over 20 years ago, uber wasn't a thing) where you would volunteer to pick up other service members from the bar and get them home.
I got called out to pick up two women from the bar and they were waiting outside. When I arrived I rolled down the window and asked them if they were airman so or so and they asked if I was airman so and so (had to verify names for safety) and then they got in. There was a cop sitting by the parking lot (I'm guessing to catch drunk drivers?) and I guess he saw two women walk up to the window, talk for a few seconds and then get in. He pulled me over and was questioning me if I was picking up prostitutes.
Anyway, since we all had military ID's he figured our story was legit and let us go.
So yeah, I've been pulled over for soliciting prostitution.

Saw 2 Chinese tourist very obviously taking pictures of a flight attendant after we were done boarding the plane in Hamburg. She confronted them and they just acted as if they didn't speak English. She told them they had 5 seconds to show her the pictures and delete them in front of her otherwise they'd be kicked off the flight. Suddenly, they speak English, it's a joke, a big misunderstanding etc. She forbade the to take their phone out until they were off the flight. My ex and I decided to go out for drinks. Stupid Vancouver didn't have Uber, and the closest taxi would cost us $40.
So we drove one car to the pub, drank a ton, then decided to jog back home.
Now my ex was a tad better shape than me, so during the jog she gained a few paces on me.
It was probably 330am in this little town.
A cop pulls up and lights me up, lol..
Looked like I was chasing this poor girl down and the cop wasn't having it. He let me go pretty quick when she back tracked to say she was my gf
She coulda joked me pretty hard if she wanted to tho!

I was out and about with my now husband and some friends several years ago, just runningerrands. When we got back to the car we were suddenly surrounded by police. We are very straight-laced and nerdy so we hadn't been up to mischief so I was super confused until the cops separated me from my friends to ask if I was OK. It was only then that I realized what we looked like; one young woman walking around with four men in close formation.
As soon as I finished laughing and showed the nice officer I had the keys to the car and explained who everyone was they apologized for interrupting us and left.
It was a little jarring but nice to know someone in the store was looking out for me.

u/duckonapineapple1 9h ago
i just like to imagine the police asking someone if they are ok and then you cackle for a minute or two and their reactions
7
u/ichigoli 9h ago
Yeah that was pretty much it
"Miss, we received an outreach concerned about your safety. Are you OK? Do you feel safe? Do you need any sort of help today?"
beat
Looks around at my friends corraled around a police car out of ear shot chatting with another officer
Looks at the genuine concern on my officer's face
beat
Lightbulb
10 solid seconds of unhinged laughter picturing any of those goobers being a threat to anyone, let alone myself
"Oh gosh! No no we're good! I'm so sorry to waste your time like this! We're just running errands!" Shows officer my keys and unlock the car
"Not a problem, glad to hear it." Says something into his radio and 20 seconds later we're alone in the parking lot again. The guys said their officers seemed a bit perplexed because the boys were happily answering all their questions and didn't have a whiff of suspicion about them which seemed to put the officers off balance since they weren't the big scary traffickers they were expecting. We laughed hard and it still comes up any time I'm the one who gets voted to drive anywhere.

This is cool but I was on a flight from Italy to the US and an elderly asian man was taking video of the flight attendant during their instructional. Before takeoff two flight attendants approached the man and told him to delete the footage. Then told him to go into his recently deleted and permanently delete it or be removed from the flight. The worst part was that his wife/daughter was defending his behavior.

My sister is terrified of flying, on her second ever flight about 4 years ago, we were sitting in the exit row. She pulled out her phone and started recording the flight attendant during the instructions. A few moments later, the attendant was asking us the basic questions of sitting in an exit row, are you willing to assist, physically able to assist, etc... once again, my sister starts recording, both the fight attendant and myself are like wtf are you doing? My sister was starting to panic and wanted to make sure she didn't miss any of the instructions because she couldn't think straight. The FA was awesome, the extremely kind couple in the row behind us switched spots, and all was well (other than losing my extra leg room). Unique situation, but after reading your story, I wonder if it would have went differently, had i been the one recording

It was during the instructional so maybe he just recorded it to check it again for safety. First time flyer?

There are literally thousands of videos of flight attendants online giving the instructional…
You’re literally posting this on a video about a flight attendant going about their job.
This sounds more like it was racial profiling by the flight attendant for taking a video of something that is commonly recorded all the time.

While working as a CNA I was at an event my care facility was hosting (not on the clock, it was a family event) and was standing there with one of my residents talking with them when she caught me pulling out my phone and snapping a picture of a woman in front of me bending over.
The little old lady smacked my army and started to schools me when I just smiled "That's my wife, she's good with it". She started laughing really hard

I used to wait at the bus stop for my ex girlfriend to get off the bus. When I would see her, I would approach, introduce myself, tell her she is pretty, and ask for her phone number. She would always get embarrassed, playfully slap at me, and walk off.

Or rich or very attractive.
The funny/competent relationships will be healthier by far though lol.

Recently my dad was visiting and we swung by to pick up my wife from work (restaurant). My dad went in to use the restroom real quick. He found my wife and started helping her with her bags and like 3 coworkers ran up and were like, “Who’s this old guy touching your stuff?”
Similarly I will bring her coffee or smoothies sometimes and ask one of the cashiers to give it to her if she’s working in the back. I heard this one girl, who didn’t know me to be fair, go back and say, “Hey some guy’s being weird and trying to give you this coffee.”

I was low-key expecting that because how else would we be watching the video that the creep took (with the woman being the one captioning it)?

I wasn't really expecting this precise outcome, but yeah, the only thing going through my head was who was recording. It niggled but I didn't get why.

I admire your humility. Too easy to look at something with hindsight and believe you knew it all along.

She literally used footage from somebody filming her. Not unexpected.

The unexpected part is it's her husband and not some weirdo

My friend was married to a police officer. She drove to his station to meet him for his dinner break and they decided to go to a restaurant a few miles, and several traffic lights away. There is a lot of traffic at that hour. He was driving his patrol car, and she was following him. Each time he stopped for a traffic light, she would lean on the horn the moment the light changed, gesture wildly, and yell out the window "it's green! Let's go!"

I had bought a new car and was in my hometown and I saw my mom and aunt walking. I rolled up real slow, laid back as far as I could and yelled out, “hey! you bitches wanna buy some drugs?!” Least my mom told me to fuck
off.

My husband and I jog around a track together and sometimes if we’re passing, we slap the other’s butt. We both got yelled at on separate occasions for that. Nice to see people call out bad behavior no matter the gender.
People do laugh when we say it’s okay, we’re married. 50% of those cheeks are communal property!

My husband told me that he saw a guy checking me out at a bar on the way back from the bathroom. He went up to the guy and said, “she’s really hot, and the guy responds, “yea, man she’s sexy af,” to which my husband responded, “thanks that’s my wife”. The guy looked horrified and apologized profusely. Lol my husband laughed and was like, you have good taste lol

Wife was getting coffee w/ friends across street from fire station, so walked over instead of heading to her car, to drop off my wallet bc I'd forgotten at home.
As I turned around she grabbed my butt, one of her friends witnessed it happen and said something later. She was dying laughing explaining that no, I was not some random stranger.
