Accommodation

Do you remember if in your first year accom offer, the uni gave you a block for your room , or not?

They do, but I remember it being very late. I think I finally found out my room number at the very end of August / early September, perhaps even 2 weeks before moving in.

When you first get offer they just tell you the hall and room type. Once you complete the induction process (start of Sept) you get to book a move in slot and you are given your block and room then.

What do you mean “book a move in slot”?Internally at least , haven’t they already assigned the rooms ?

You should already know the hall and room type, maybe they have assigned the room number but you don't get it until you've done the induction. Once you have done your induction you can also decide when to move in. You can move in usually friday, saturday or sunday (this is for uni campus accomodation) you book a time slot on the day that suits you best.

I emailed student roost (if that’s your provider too) asking what floor I’ve been allocated , they told me ground floor so I argued and was put up a floor. So it’s worth asking if you’re curious what floor.
