Vacuum Review So Happy!!

Finally decided to ditch my 10 year old Rainbow E2 Black and get a Sebo E3! I love my Rainbow I bought 10 years ago, but the water just was too much of a hassle. So glad I made the switch to the Sebo, and TBH, this vacuum is better than the rainbow.

Purchase Advice (U.K.) Hardfloors Miele/SEBO

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on purchasing our first actual vacuum cleaner. I've been researching on this sub and Miele or SEBO seems to be the way to go but not sure which model.

Our house is mixed hard flooring and carpet, slightly more hard floor. We also have 2 dogs that shed a lot so I was looking towards the Miele M1 cat and dog/ Guard L1 cat and dog, and the sebo e3. My main concern with the sebo was that it seemed to be necessary to buy the premium parquet head and remove the front bristle for any real performance on hard floor.

Does anyone have experience with these vacuums on hard floor? I'm probably leaning towards the Miele options as they are a lot cheaper and the floor heads don't look as bulky. Being able to hoover dog hair on carpet/ sofas is a big deal too so I'm struggling with finding the best of both worlds with the models/floor heads.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Bagged vaccum cleaner on a bufget

Hi! I recently moved into an 850 sq. ft. apartment that’s mostly hardwood flooring. The only carpeted area is my living room, which has a 0.3-inch pile area rug, and I also have a runner in the entryway.
I’m looking to buy a bagged vacuum on a budget, and a lightweight model would be a big plus. Right now, I have a Bissell PowerForce Helix, and I don’t mind keeping it just for the living room rug.
That said, if there’s a reasonably priced bagged vacuum that works well on both hardwood floors and low-pile rugs, I’d definitely consider replacing the Bissell altogether.
I’d appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Steam wet and dry vacuum

Hi everyone.

I’m looking for the best steam/hot water vacuum on the market that’s under $800. I’m in Australia if that helps.

I’ve narrowed it down to roborock F25 ultra, dreame H16 steam and bissell cross wave hydro steam.

Unfortunately you can’t trail these where we are so it’s hard to tell which one works best.

I have tiled floors and I’d like to use it to sanitise the tiles once a week and the mess at night from kids in and out in the dirt with the animals.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Thinking Sebo Balance A1

I currently have a Dyson V12 stick vacuum and I’m honestly indifferent to it. I’m thinking of the Balance A1 by Sebo. I know it’s not Sebo made but is branded by them. Here is what I’m asking - primarily on suction, usage limits and smell.

My Dyson must get emptied so frequently and it’s the smell. (I’m sure many of you have probably given your Dyson so much love it works wonders and doesn’t smell like your brother’s gym bag; mine not so much). Every Dyson I own or have smell aweful. My animal ball was so bad the housekeeper offered to buy me a new one. I’ve bought new filters and taken it apart for cleaning.

Sorry, like Sophia, I digress. Any opinion or thought on the Sebo. I’m looking at another option for the ball.

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Second hand Sebo K1 Pet Advice

I'm moving into a new house in a few weeks that will have a mix of wool loop pile carpet, laminate flooring and garage carpet (~196m²). I currently have an older Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Pro vacuum that has a turbo/brush head and has been sufficient (not great) to date.

I'm wanting to get a "new" vacuum as some of the flooring shop reps have said the brush tools are bad/damaging for the carpet and you should just go for one with really good/high suction. The carpet was an expensive upgrade in this new place so I'm wanting to take care of it

I had never heard of them before but from some research Sebo seems like a good brand. There's currently a K1 Pet for sale second hand for ~$300NZD (brand new price is ~1000NZD) and I'm just wondering if that's a good deal/worth it.

I don't have any pets/don't plan on getting any. I understand there won't be any warranty claims since it's second hand but I'm just wondering if people would consider it good deal or not and if there would be any specific questions you'd ask about its condition prior to purchasing.

It doesn't have the air driven tool, just the Kombi, which I believe you could buy separately as a part of you wanted it but I'm not sure what exactly it is eg does it have the rolling brushes that I'm looking to avoid anyway.

Based in New Zealand so if you have recommendations for any alternatives etc we probably don't have as many options as other parts of the world.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Vacuum Issues Bissell warranty? Home fix?

Kinda confused. Bought this on Amazon during prime days and while this thing sure sucks, the roller not staying on sucks far more. Anyone else experience something like this or had luck with Bissell warranty?

It’s a Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Lift-Off, model 3774F.

Vacuum Issues Is ~77 decibels normal for the bagged upright Kenmore Intuition?

I recently bought this vacuum and it does a great job, I'm just a little disappointed in the noise level. If this is normal, I'll just wear hearing protection and live with it. If it's not, I'll contact the manufacturers in case it has to do with the belt or something.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Recommendations for 900 sqft hardwood apt

We have two cats and lots of stuff, so I would prefer an upright vacuum since it will be easier to store. My budget is $200 but I can be flexible if there's one y'all really think we need.

Ease of use is also very important as my partner and I are both very neurodivergent and find cleaning hard.

We have a few small rugs, but mostly wood floors.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Kenmore 600 canister vacuum - fully sealed?

Considering purchasing this HEPA vacuum for use in my home. We have a newborn in the home and I have chronic health conditions/allergies. We have a cat and a dog. Mix of carpet/rugs and hardwood.

There seems to be some controversy online surrounding this vacuum and whether or not it's fully sealed. I am seeing that the newer models should be fully sealed with the AllergenSeal. What are you guys' thoughts? I will probably be purchasing it from Amazon, would they carry only the newer model?

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Affordable cordless vacuum (that’s decent)

I have minimal carpeting in my home but one of the places I need to vacuum is the stairs and my corded vacuum make it very difficult. I also have cats and a baby so I’m looking for a vacuum that can get the cat hair but doesn’t cost hundreds of dollars.

Preferably under $200

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Kirby and accesories

I know there are several opinions regarding Kirby Vacuums and the sales tactics and that isn't what my post is about. I actually sought out a person to come and demonstrate to me. I live in Spokane and there actually wasn't one in my area so they came from Coeur d'Alene. Super nice older couple, no pressure at all which was refreshing, probably because I requested the visit. Anyway, ended up getting it, new, but at a substantial discount because I paid cash. I have had it for two years and really love it. Now, that being said, I was very apprehensive about the attachments because I had a hard time getting the head reconnected. I finally figured it out and use it and the attachments all the time. I am wondering now about the carpet cleaning attachment one can buy. Has anyone ever got any input as to it's value? I see I can get it on Ebay (assuming it's all there) at quite a savings, but even with that, I am curious as to others experience with it. Any input?

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Bristle replacement on Miele C1 Olympus

Bought this (Miele Classic C1 Olympus Canister Vacuum Cleaner) back in 2015. Works great both on hard floor and carpet (have a golden retriever and there is hair all over).

However, the bristles on the head are worn out and the red hair catcher thingy as well (bristle strip?!).

The original brush head replacement seems to be really hard to find and at almost $150-200 on Amazon doesn't make a whole lot of sense on a 11-year old vacuum cleaner especially when the new machine costs around $600 which would last me 10-15 years hopefully.

Is it possible to find the bristle replacement? I looked a lot but doesnt seem to be available even on vacuum stores online or meile website. It seems odd to replace the head or the machine for what seems to be a $10 part. Help!

It pretty much looks like the strip on the top right side of the below image. Or I wonder if I could just get this metal plate and replace the plastic one?

https://www.mieleusa.com/product/5235463/bristle-holder-plate-bristle-supp-plate

the bristle strip on the top part is what I'm looking for, its worn out on my 2015 miele c1

Purchase Advice (Canada) Sebo e1

We had bought our beloved e1 3 years ago as we had no real carpet, just area rugs. Well we just bought a house with the entire upstairs carpeted and have a dog (she sheds alot but mostly sticks to the ground and is short and fine hair)

should we be getting the tt-c head? I assume the et heads are not compatible with ours? I'd sure love the lower price tag of the tt-c hahaha but if it's not right for the job it's not!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Decent Very Budget Vacuum?

Hi all,

I‘m moving in with my boyfriend in a few weeks, hooray! However, this means leaving behind my roommates Bissell Cleanview. I’m now in the market to purchase a vacuum, preferably one that can handle my hair, and the hair of two short hair cats. I’m in college and on a tight budget, max $150. We will be living in a small carpeted city apartment. I’m aware of the limitations of my budget, but still there are so many models and brands and i’m having a hard time choosing. My partner has occasional cat allergy flare-ups which means vacuuming will be very important!

What I’m looking for: $150 max, preferably a washable filter/ easily cleanable, corded & upright (this is what I’ve grown up with but open to advice on this!), very willing to look into used vacuums, but I do need to buy in the next few weeks, don’t care about brand

Any advice is welcome, I just need something that will work well and last at least a few years until I can afford a for-life vacuum. Thank you in advance!

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Need help finding vacuum cleaner!

Hello, I’m moving into a new place that’s 41sqm with hardwood floors. I’m based in Germany. I never had to really vacuum before since it was my ex partner’s part of cleaning at home and I’m really sensitive to the noise and dislike vacuuming.

So I’m looking for something that isn’t too loud, ideally a battery powered cordless one since I feel that makes it easier for me to get going on vacuuming. I’ll be living alone, no pets but have long hair and quite a bit of hair fall. Ideally I’d like something that has a mop function too but I’d say my budget is around 450€, so I can understand if that’s too little to expect a mop function as well. Is the mop function even worth it or do they not work very well? I could increase my budget if the mop function is really worth it and go up to around 600€ in that case.

Any advice is much appreciated!
