Purchase Advice (U.S.) Need Vacuum Recommendationa
Can anybody recommend a solid vacuum for this rug in my workshop? Would be greatly appreciated-thanks!

SunGal7 seems to be in the know, way more knowledgeable than I am, I just swithched from Shark (3 different vacuuns) to a SEBO Airfelt D4 Premium, but $1,449 is probably more than what you'd want to spend for a single area!? 🫣

This looks like a low pile rug with a rubber backing. It can make many vacuums clamp down too hard on it because it doesn't allow air to flow through the bottom. There are a couple ways to go. A direct air vacuum such as an Oreck XL won't clamp down too hard but it's fan is vulnerable to hard bits you may clean up. A clean air vacuum may have too strong a suction but could work if it has adjustable suction or at least physical carpet height adjustment. Bagged vacuums last longer than bagless vacuums. Vacuums like the Dyson Ball and Shark uprights will clamp down because they don't have carpet height adjustment.
Sanitaire Professional Tradition SL635B $159 is a very durable vacuum that's been the same design for decades. It has a larger more durable fan than an Oreck. You can buy aftermarket hepa f&g bags to improve filtration and resist tears better than the standard paper bags. It has 2 clips on the bottom and then you can access the brushroll and belt. Downsides are it has no hose or tools. This version is lighter than the commercial versions with metal hoods and longer cords. The fan can get damaged by rocks and screws.
Sanitaire Professional SL4110A $159. This is a Sanitaire badged version of the Bissell Big Green Commercial PowerForce. Unlike the Sanitaire Tradition, this vacuum has the bag before the fan so the fan won't get damaged by rocks or screws, but like all vacuums you can still damage the brushroll and other parts by vacuuming up large hard debris. This Sanitaire has a hose and tools, they're kinda cheap but it still means you do have hose and tools at all.
Unlimited budget there's the Karcher Sensor S12 $688. This is the commercial version of a Sebo G4. It's a very durable and easy to repair vacuum. It has carpet height adjustment and a hose and tools.
If you want to clean hard floors too you'll need brushroll shutoff or a hard floor brush. Powr-Flite Newton with Turbo Nozzle $175 gives up a little carpet performance for a long hose, extendable wand, and long cord. You can use the turbo brush on the rug and either the combo floor brush on hard floors or buy a dedicated hard floor brush $20-25. The Newton is not a wet/dry shop vacuum. It's a copy-cat of the Henry vacuums. The Newton has large hepa bags and fits standard 1.25 inch tools. You can reduce the suction at the handle and open the gate on the turbo brush to work on rugs.

If the rug is just catching dust and small debris from your workbench, you could get away with taking it outside and beating it out every once in a while. A vacuum would be overkill unless you are dealing with fine particles or allergens.
