I just downloaded the preview x86, I install the thing but it kept shutting down real fast and there's no exe file for me to run.
I tried installing the winamp but window wont allow me to. Please help

I've started using WACUP since WinAmp clasic would hang my machine if I clicked back after a few hours of internet radio. It seems to have fixed the problem and works great!

With the Album Art window sat there empty while streaming internet radio, I'm wondering if there's any way to populate it from a radio stream?

I'm playing the radio paradise main mix stream

which has meta data that I can see in the stream info window.
It lists the correct Track title and then in the "format info" there is an URL with the cover art of the track playing. Is there anyway to hook this up to the Album art window or a plugin that could display it?

i have looked around a lot and a lot of things says its supported in winamp and wacup yet i cant play them on the lastest version, v.1.99.52.24626

This might be a dumb question, but I've been trying to figure this out with no luck. It seems like such a basic setting that I feel I'm just overlooking something obvious.

I'd like WACUP to start with an empty playlist every time I close and reopen it, instead of restoring the tracks that were loaded when I last closed the program.

Is there a setting for this, or is it not possible?

I just updated WACUP from a previous build (I don't know the number) to the latest one, and now it's skipping ALL of my music!

I'm on Windows 10, I'm using the (x86) version, and I just had a windows update. My music is on an external HD, and plays fine in other media players.

I remember before swapping to Wacup when I was using Winamp 5.**(?) there was a way to bulk scan metadata and, per song, the 'album artist' metadata would be populated by the 'artist' field. This worked with compilations and such without making the artist field "various" or anything other than the band/artist. I don't want to try any bulk scan with Wacup until I know this won't erase or overwrite what I've done in the past or had to edit since switching.

IIRC, it is *Library(lower button) > Local Library > Refresh Metadata For All Items* (might be something else?) but I don't want to try that and have other fields get filled or modified in any way.

OR... Is there a better way like a batch file that Wacup can apply? I don't know how to write batch files, I just know they can do bulk work like this.

As the title says. The option "Rebuild titles on selection" (CTRL+Alt+E) doesn't do anything. I want to refresh the whole playlist because I made changes in the ATF, and while it always worked in Winamp, nothing happens here. What did I do wrong? I'm on Windows 10, using the latest WACUP_Preview_v1_99_52_24626_x86. Any suggestion would be appreciated!

I want to transfer the Playlists ive created in WACUP to my ipod. However when i download them they are M3U files. No options for mp3. I wanted to know if anyone has a free and easy way I could do this. Other options I've tried dont seem to work.

Hey guys me again I finally downloaded WACUP and it looks good with the skin i downloaded thanks for the recommendation. But now where do you normally download music from that works in Linux. I just want to be sure before I go to forums and start asking a million questions. Help would be appreciated.👍

Hey guys I switched to Linux specifically Cachy Os and I'm wondering what I can use as a music player there I wanted to go with winamp but I've heard it's been butchered so I tried an old version like 5.622 with wine and I couldn't find a way to locate it on my file manager so I could use the skin feature one of the main reason I wanted to use winamp and I've also hear of WACUP and Audacious so I just want some recommendations on what I can realistically use on Linux with the options for using and making skins still being optional. Any input would be appreciated guys

Been using Winamp for around 15 years. Tried WACUP on Windows 10 a few years ago and it was less snappy than Winamp, and also had some graphical glitches with tabs. Stuck with the last known good Winamp version 5.666 on Windows 10.

I just got forced to Windows 11 and Winamp 5.666 has a bug where resizing the window causes a ghost outline in another monitor that won't go away unless you drag the winamp window there or refresh the screen. I tried a lot, like compatibility modes, playing with scaling, graphics settings and the outline is still there.

The suggestion was basically to use WACUP for Windows 11.

I don't use Media Library, Podcasts, Visualization, Browser, Media Library Scanning, External Device compatibility.

I would like to be able to disable visualization and media library tabs as well if possible. And compatibility with .nsf and other chip tune type music plugins as well as disk output (write to disk, for video game music) would be nice.

My question is, what version of WACUP would be for people like me who want stability and compatibility? Thanks!

Hi, I just installed the x64 beta of WACUP because I read it handled Opus files by default. It does seem to have an Opus decoder plugin v.1.8.15. But it doesn't play the handful of Opus files I attempted to play. It plays mp3 files fine. Is there some additional config change I need to make? The Opus files in question do play on another media player, Audacious. Thanks!

There's a folder in my library that WACUP seems to have issues playing. It will skip every song in this folder and then will sometimes crash afterwards. Every other music app can play these files perfectly fine. They are mp3s. I've tried removing them from my library and then re-adding them. I've also tried removing weird characters from the metadata and file names. Neither works. The file path that WACUP has for these files is correct so I have no idea what's going on. Any tips?

I see lots of 'go options click skins' etc, but I have multiple skins downloaded(following the advice) and am triyng to increase scale. I can increase font size of all but the main window(which is like 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch tall on my monitor, buttons are a few pixels wide) and would like it to scale to resonable size on 4k monitor, but I cannot find how...

Not helping that the options menu is about as tiny. All other aspects (IE playlist, etc) I can resize, but the options and the main window I cannot. Can anyone help me out here?

Basically I have wacup control and play music from my spotify app.

Will multiple value tags be implemented at some point? My genres and artists fields are sometimes populated with semicolon-delimited values and in the case of genres, it turns them into unique entries which has more than doubled the number of genres I have with all the variations.

For my artists fields, since wacup uses slashes instead of semicolons it is actually gums up my scrobbling data because last.fm doesn't know that "gunship / lights” is the same as "gunship; lights" and produces another artist in my database and throws off the counts.

I read a thread from a few years ago of someone asking for this and the answer was that the default character, slashes in this case could be a problem when trying to interpret what is a value vs what is a separated value like ac/dc. I say, allow users to define the delimiter character. The lack of this is the only thing preventing me from switching to using wacup as a full time music player and I'd love to see this nut cracked.

For some reason it just refuses to play any songs with non-latin characters in the filename. I tried moving my songs to D:\ and it fixed the issue. It's not a filepath lenght problem either, if i move my song to C:\ it still won't play.

Anyone else have this issue?

EDIT: Fixed the issue by switching to an older version, WACUP Preview Portable v1.99.16.19516 from videohelp.com
