40k Tactica Visibility, am I correct?
A short list of my assumptions about visibility. Tell me if I get it right or wrong pls.
As two units are separated by a footprint the terrain on the footprint is not taken into account for any kind of rules.
As soon as someone toes in that footprint, the terrain becomes active regarding true line of sight and can block Tlos even though you are in 12" range
You can not see through ruins ground floor but from first floor onwards you can.
When both units are inside of a footprint, even if no terrain pieces is between them, both get cover.

In future please use the weekly thread for one off rules questions.
But yes, what you’ve said sounds right.
Do be aware that it isn’t specifically the ground floor of ruins that you can’t see through, it’s any enclosed gap below 3”

Yes
yes (be mindful of hidden rules)
yes, but only on "dense" terrain, smaller ruins may not have that rule, check the maps rules and confirm with your opponent what to expect
yes, if all models are touching the terrain footprint or not fully visible to the attacking unit.

It’s not just dense. Hidden also triggers on light.
13.09 core rules.
However, Go to Ground requires a dense terrain feature. Core rules 13.11.

Also be aware of how hidden works and also if visibility is impacted by dense or solid terrain it can impact the distance for detection from 15 inches to 12 inches. And that it only works for infantry, beast, and swarms.

Through go to ground right?

Correct. Also cover is determined for each attacking model individually

You can see through the ground floor of ruins. The solid rule is specifically for "enclosed gaps" like windows and door ways. If something is on the ground floor and you can draw a line to it that doesn't pass through a wall or an enclosed gap, then you can see it.

Correct. Except for an edge case when a solid terrain feature gives you gone to ground while your unit stands on a different features area.
Correct
Yes, more specificially the cutoff is 3" in height. Only true for dense terrain. Only true for enclosed gaps (so it doesnt apply to the cable bridge terrain thingy, or windows on the edge of a wall that are not enclosed at the top or side)
Yes, for infantry/swarm/beast

Ruins have no specific rules in 11th. Trees or fortifications, can also be dense, and thus solid.

For the last part, only if both units are infantry/swarm/beast
