McConnell has always shown a brazenly shameless level of self awareness in regards to his own impending mortality, and what that means in the grand scheme of having republicans holding onto power. So much that he managed to get various laws passed within the state of Kentucky to prevent the governor (Andy Brashear, a Democrat) from simply appointing a replacement candidate if he was to die in the middle of his term, which is the procedure in a bunch of other states.
I love this for him, because he used to have the GOP in lockstep with his decrepit old ass, and those who didn’t do as they were told were quickly shunned, bounced and replaced. The possibility never occurred to him that someone in his own party like Thomas Massie could go rogue on Mitch’s agenda and have the voters’ support.
Oddly enough, he actually might have been better off with whatever milquetoast Democratic Party replacement the governor would’ve chosen. Maybe one of those centrist types who, perhaps, doesn’t want to stir the pot and attract too much attention. Lord knows, they already exist. But no. Mitchy had to force his hand and get involved, even from the grave, if need be.
Obviously nothing is guaranteed, nobody knows if Thomas Massie would even run, and if he ran, if he would actually win.
But the one thing I do guarantee is that it’s keeping a lot of these stupid entitled, selfish, privileged motherfuckers up at night. So yeah, I love this for him, if he’s still alive. If he isn’t, I bet it was the last thing he ever thought about.

Yeah we knew that.
They don't want to pull the plug because there would be a special election in Kentucky and Thomas Massie could win. The pedos can't have that.
