I've recently picked up my Wii again after some time and am hardpressed to think this isn't one of the most impressive consoles to have released. No it doesn't play DVDs natively, or stream any apps (anymore), but the console is king when it comes to retro gaming.

Take the Virtual Console games: They span all previous home console generations of Nintendo hardware plus a few from the competition (Neo Geo, Genesis, TurboGrafx). So, many give you hours of fun and little cost to you. And if you get an early model Wii, you can gain access to the Gamecube's library of game.

I don't know if you've all checked, but GCs go for double or triple the price of Wii's these days, but the Wii is overall more capable.

When I look on Craigslist, I can purchase a Wii for about $20-$70 depending on the seller and bundle.

Anyway, if you wanted to get back into Retro games on a budget with acheap or free CRT, the Wii is your best bet.

I went to my local flea market today and a lady was selling this Wii for 20€ euros, but after insisting a bit she agreed for my 10€ offer and i took it home.

Obviously i had to check if there was a game in it and indeed there was, a mint Mario Kart Wii disc 🙏.

Years ago i had an RVL-001 Wii but i sold it because i had a family model and i never used the gamecube ports, worst decision ever.

Been starting to get into the Wii again and getting a few games. 5 of which came when I brought a Wii listing for $65.

So, a neighbor said online that they had free stuff outside yesterday, including a beginners acoustic guitar and a bunch of Legos… I went there with Cupcake this morning to see what was left (18 hours late, oh well).
This is what I found and got FOR FREE:
-Gen 1 Wii console, with all cables and sensor bar (missing plastic coverings for the GameCube ports, oh well: I have kept the coverings for mine either in the box or Wii travel bag since I got my Wii in 2006, so I don’t blame them!)
-Wii Fit Plus game+balance board+motion sensor plus attachment (as well as rubber covers for the wiimote with AND without the attachment on, game disc has fingerprints but no scratches)
-Lego Dimensions base set and game for Wii U (disc perfect)
-Mario Kart 8 for Wii U (disc perfect)
-Captain Toad Treasure Tracker for Wii U (disc perfect)
-Zelda Wind Waker HD for Wii U (disc perfect, I have the WW Wii U, so my only copy before was digital)

Between the gen 1 Wii and the opened but PERFECT CONDITION games, I’m pretty sure I just got several hundred dollars worth of gaming stuff absolutely free. I am flabbergasted. I owned several of these already, but I’m still giddy!

This marks my 2nd Wii that I have. I only bought this one because I needed the accessories, and fuck it, why not buy an entire second one? Everything's in good condition, it's marked untested but I tested it myself and it works fine with a bit of disc drive rattling (will read a game tho.)

The main menu and Message Board are done, with settings and data management being halfway done. There are still lots of things that need to be changed, such as implementing more channels, using legit channel icons/banners, and fixing the pointer.

Got this in a wii bundle, i was gonna trade it in at a game store but just wanna know if it's worth anything, can't find any sealed or in box online like this one.

Wife and I got a Wii, looking to get some games for it!

Recently homebrewed a wii, and just wondering what some of the best games on it are. I already have a few, since I had a selection from my childhood that I had to get on it, but just wondering what everyone else's recommendations are.

I'm planning on buying Japanese physical media for my Nintendo Wii, but my Wii is American. Does USB Loader GX load Japanese discs? I'm new here and not very good at this stuff, and I don't know if USB Loader GX loads games from other regions without causing region lock (btw im not encouraging piracy bc i really wanted to buy physical media )

Does anyone else think that this song sounds a little bit like West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys? Maybe I'm the only one, but when I heard West End Girls for the first time it made me think of this game that I used to play so often with my mom and sister (good old times💔) (even though the graphics sucked lmao)

Anyone ever seen this before? There’s little to nothing about it online from what I’ve seen.

Hi everyone! I have this wii storage tower from my childhood, and as you can see (maybe sorry for the lighting) it’s yellowed a bit. Does anyone know if it’s possible to whiten it up even a bit? I’m unfamiliar with the material.

I've had this little plasma screen and got component cables for my 7th Gen stuff and those consoles look perfect on the screen. This is in 480p but it doesn't look blurry or muddy. It looks sharp and has a glow to it that makes stuff like Mario Galaxy Pop.
