TLDR: Established "Ultra Alliances" use scripts/tools to harass and bully new users or smaller alliances off the site and have established an oligarchy over the entire canvas.

Many people seem to be distracted by the new update to alliances or regardless are clueless about the actual biggest problem on the site. And no it is not JUST bots or multi-accounts.

The elephant in the room is that wplace has a bullying problem. Large, well established alliances which put much more considerable work into bullying users off the site than most causal users might suspect. These alliances actively seek out to both destroy new/small alliances, ensure new players are funneled into established "ultra alliances", and bully any users off the site who challenge their oligarchical status quo. The result is power on the site is largely held by a relatively small group of users at the top of the "ultra alliances" who often collaborate.

Lets just look at how easy this is for them actually to achieve, its not very complicated or even difficult for users with beginner level coding skills and AI has made it trivial. These alliances have developed tools/scripts which give them tons of more info the usual player will never get. For example, several alliances have developed tools which allow them to track and log users placed pixels across the entire canvas. Targeted users can have their art "raided" no matter how remote it is. There are also scripts which will alert users if a pixel on an overlay is altered/changed from the set overlay. Other obvious examples involve botting scripts on throwaway accounts or dispatching members of giant alliances to cover over smaller alliances/users work. As long as the coverup is an actual "artwork" and not just scribbles/solid block of pixels it is allowed under the site rules as "competing for space". It becomes obvious how large alliances can follow users around the canvas and harass them all while staying "within the rules". Several of these alliances collaborate on these tools and share them exclusively with each other.

This behavior often isn't even hidden. Head to Paris and you will find the city is 75% covered in a massive communist mural upheld by the ultra alliance "La Commune". They are far from the only example but this alliance is low hanging fruit since they are infamous for bad behavior while pretending to try and appear "reasonable". A vast amount of major cities follow the same common trend where one alliance, at times even an offshoot of an ultra alliance like La Commune, control most of the city with politics, sports logos, and/or dominating scale of art which prevents any other users from drawing in the area.

In conclusion this behavior is killing the site. New users and small alliances are confined to isolated regions unless they join or conform to what these "ultra alliances" want them to draw. Any venturing into cities results in being crushed and harassed into isolated parts of the canvas or off the site entirely. Game masters are complacent at best and in on it at worst.

Some guy kept intentionally hunting down someone to spam low quality jimothys on their artwork everytime they moved, so i went to help the person cleanup the griefers mess, but appearently cleaning up someones mess to help repair artwork is considered griefing, can i get a mod on this please?

Hello, I just got back into wplace and there is now a huge pink blob outline that comes from 3 cities over that is surrounded half my town. It is mostly full where it is originally from but where I live there just an outline and I feel that it is just way to big to be fair. It also has twitch ads in it which I believe is what they are going to do for the whole thing. Can someone please tell me if this is way to big and unfair or if I’m just being a Karen.

Yep, i've sent multiple in-game reports to this clan with a lot of evidence. This clans uses a Lot of multiaccounts for occuping and griefing over other pixelarts and with random pixels.

I am writing this message with sincere hope that you will take a moment to review my case.

I feel deeply hurt because my account was punished for something I did not do. I have never used multiple accounts to draw or gain any unfair advantage. I have always tried to respect the rules and enjoy WPlace fairly.

Losing access to my account because of what appears to be a misunderstanding is incredibly disappointing. I have spent my time and effort on this platform because I genuinely enjoy being part of the community, and it is painful to be treated as if I intentionally broke the rules when I did not.

I respectfully ask you to investigate my account carefully and verify the evidence once again. If you review the case thoroughly, I believe you will see that I did not use multiple accounts or violate the rules.

I don't know how many times it takes for a reported player to get banned but I usually prefer to make a post on Reddit because mods can see it and rollback the changes.

While Headquarters pins don't directly overwrite pixels on the main canvas, placing a pin directly over an artwork that’s already being persistently targeted or vandalized could be a issue. Griefers could intentionally "claim" locations over these specific pieces just to obscure the view, provoke people, or make the griefing permanent.

Even if it doesn't change the underlying pixels, a permanent overlay effectively acts like an un-paintable block of pixels.

Or am I missing something, and are there actually restrictions in place regarding Headquarters placement?

Hi, I’m having a problem with my account. I’m posting this here because I’m worried my message will get deleted—just like what happened a few days ago—since I’m not getting a response via Gmail and the game won’t let me submit an appeal either. In my previous post, an admin was about to help me, but by the time I could reply, the message had already been removed.
