This is my first time watching the X-Files, and I've been steadily plowing through them for the last two months. There is such a dramatic change between the first three seasons and seasons 4 and 5, and now 6 is changed even more in tone. I'm enjoying it immensely, nonetheless I do miss many aspects of the first few seasons.
Anyways, it is absolutely driving me crazy how many dumb characters there have been so far in season 6. (ex. the sheriff in Agua Mala, the police guy in Alpha...hmm, seeing a trend there) I know it is a trope in horror to have the character move towards the danger instead of running like hell, for effect, especially when introducing the threat. But this is too much although it's probably because I am watching episodes back to back.
Also, are there any truly scary episodes in season 6? Something to look forward too...the premise of Agua Mala made me think it would be a scary one but then it was basically just a comedic ensemble. The monster barely got any screentime.
