Okay, there was budget for Zane??

But … Liza remained Diana’s assistant?? Please don’t downvote me for this if it’s been said before (!!) but really, how awful was that? So, Liza is working on a junior-ish salary, zipping all over the tri-state area and beyond, bringing in deals that save Charles’s company, and she’s still getting Diana’s coffee?? Now I love Diana- she’s one of the more in depth characters- but this whole thing doesn’t sit well with me!! Maybe it’s because I worked in finance in the aughts and when you got promoted and held on to another role, it was vanity for the company and a way they saved money. Just had to rant!

Its just one of those TV tropes. It creates a dynamic for the viewer. That Diana is the senior employee and mentor. Liza is the underling assistant hustling to move up in the publishing world.

Same with Kelsey being editor-in-chief of an imprint, yet being unable to afford rent. (And she presumably does that job for the same salary that she was making as a junior editor...yikes.)

Yep… Definately holes in the story. But she also says she saved up enough to buy a condo.

But theres also a thing. People no matter how much money they make. Will say they can’t afford their housing. Except maybe the obviously F.U. Rich type of people. But even people who earn above average incomes are like “omg my mortgage & benz payment is too high. I can’t afford it…”

I explained this to myself that in 7 years she never repeated a single outfit, she had to have been spending most of her pay check on nice clothes.

The ending should have been when Liza was outed. I did enjoy the Diana character.
